I have started a new game using a Sorcerer, and i'm never gonna use a mage again! However, I made an absolutley stupid mistake and picked the level one spell "Find familiar". As you probably all know, you only need to use the spell once, and as i'm a Sorcerer i have wasted a crucial spell slot on a spell i only need to use ONCE! There's no way i'm gonna start all over again (i'm so sick of Irenicus's dungeon!)
Can i use an editor like ShadowKeeper to change the find familiar spell to something else? ( i'm totally against cheating, but i dont feel bad about doing this...) Or am i totally screwed?? |
Don't worry. It's just a level one spell. There aren't many (except magic missile) lvl 1 spells you will use in the later stages. It's not that bad.

I always pick the spook spell as a starter spell when I'm a mage. I've nevver found a scroll for it, and it is a pretty good 1st level spell.

I dont feel so bad now...
Thanks guys for cheering me up!!! methods. |
Question can a sorcerer cast using a scroll? Th reson I ask is I was thinking of playing on for kicks. It woudl be helpful for stuff like the above find familer to just wait till you get it as a scroll.

Don't worry about that i am a sorcerer and i can tell you, in the first spell level there isn't very powerfull spells (i choose the protections spells) but i think that there is no problem if you use the Shadow Keeper.
PS- Just erase that spell don't start chesing the hole game... |
Coming from another person who edits the game frequently, not cheating though... just to see how it ticks and all... yes you can use shadowkeeper or whatever else program can change that. Just go to his spellbook... it will have a list of spells in it... I do believe this job is even easier than doing it with a mage... since they have less spells to worry about. Anywho, you should be fine, and sorcerers rock... I'm one right now... what you should do is look through this forum, use the search option, and find the sorcerer spell choice discussions... people have some interesting ideas... and my sorcerer is godly powerful now because of some little techniques you can use when combining spells.

Hmm? Oh the cheating thing, I thought someone said (I guess it wasn't here because I can't find it again!) something about not wanting to cheat. What I said, after reviewing my post again, was that I don't like cheat *myself*... I don't edit the game and play it all hacked and screwed up... but! I have been known, I think, to like change something if there's some bug or I screwed myself over somehow by accident... nothing that really effects anything. The combination thing I was talking about... well, it was soooo cool last night. I was walking around the underdark, right? But it was just my sorcerer and his little group of friends... which happened to be hasted Skeleton Warriors, Sword Spiders, and Mordenkainen's Swords. *snickers* I felt so evil... but also, there are some interesting spell combinations... I can't remember any off the top of my head... just things I always do in succession I suppose. For instance I went through a game always having bodyguards one time... and another time I was this horrible disrupter mage that totally ripped through parties and parties of people with spells like slow, chaos, emotion, glitterdust, and all sorts of funny ones.
