I found out about this recently in a (reliable) magazine I subscribe to, it's true. Bioware have filed a lawsuit against Interplay alleging breach of two contracts when the latter sublicensed distribution of their games to third parties without Bioware's consent. This followed termination of the Bioware/Interplay publishing contract last month. What does this mean to Neverwinter nights, will it be affected?

Old news, I think they came to an agreement a while agow.

I read a few months back that Bioware were after royalties or publishing fees or something money orientated
Never saw an outcome though
There was said to be no future projects until things were resolved, other than those they are currently working on

Not sure if thats the same thing you seen

Are you sure, I read this in the Feburary issue, although they are produced three months in advance... Well if your right I'm certainly going to have egg on my face.

That has been resolved, I think...and NWN is being published by another company that Dan has listed on his front page but I'm too knackered to look up right now.

Very old news, Bioware and Interplay have decided to agree on allowing Infogrames publish NWN. This was released in a press statement last Week.

Glad too, I was dreading the FURTHER delay of NWN because of this.

Interplay is history.. Stock is near $0 now. penny stock, and dropping STILL. Seems lot's of Gaming Companies are dying lately. A shame really.

It is a shame that all the Business School graduates can't seem to figure out how to run a gameing company. The problem is that the money people don't understand the creative people and try to make them conform to their money people mold. But it isn't just the gaming industry...I frequently see the buisiness types screwing up the IT department because they listen to Marketers and not their own technology guys.......I swear business schools seem to churn out only morons.

Well, what is the feeling that you get when you think of going to business school? Now, think of the kind of person that would WANT to go to business school.

DiabloRex 02-04-2002 09:06 AM

drats, the correct translation is "commercial school"

MagiK 02-04-2002 09:38 AM

My apologies to the Business School students here...please just remember one KEY fact...never ever ever ever believe a Marketer...trust your IT professionals, and when they don't know..get an evaluation copy so they can check it out and get back to you.

MagiK 02-04-2002 09:39 AM

As for all you Marketers..umm sorry..your just gonna have to shovel that stuff your pushing to someone else....how can you guys sleep at night? knowing you have deceived your customers?

So if Interplay is almost history, what does that say for Icewind Dale II?

In a recent Gamespot article, I saw that Black Isle is developing IWD2 and Interplay is publishing it.
