A blatant piece of advertising here (I hope this is OK with Ziroc and Mods!), but since we have had a lot of new posters here at General Discussions in the past couple of weeks, I would like to invite everyone over to check out the Books, Movies and TV forum here at Ironworks.

For those who haven't yet tried it, it is a great place to discuss literature and movies, quite an active place with a good number of regular posters and plenty of recent discussion and debate to get involved in.

You guys are talking about It. Man, I hate clowns. For as long as I can remember, I have had this inexplicable distrust of clowns. Probably because they don't show their face.

And yah, It was quite scary...

It is odd that this has come up, clowns, that is. I have a lot of friends that hate and despise clowns. I have always thought that clowns were loved by all, but as it turns out they are not. Just an observance.....

I don't mind clowns, as a matter of fact I have a good friend that is a clown. I will say tho, that at time they can be rather odd, clowns that is..

These are people who sacrifice their entire lives to make you laugh!
They get cast out by their families because they only strive to wear big pants, pour water down them and wear funny-looking make-up, to entertain you!
And you...don't like them...

I've never liked clowns. Or Punch and Judy - and not just because it glorifies domestic violence :D

It was a great book, one of his best IMHO. And Grojlach, 100 points, great post - very... apt.

I think the reason so many people don't like clowns is, as I said, that they wear so much make-up you can't see their face. It's hard to trust/like someone who doesn't show his face. I don't have anything against what they do.

I thought IT was hystericay funny, I was falling out of my chair, scary?, I dunno. But then I always laugh at the wrong things. I mean that bit where he jumps out in the photobook, that was slpastick. Ive never been afraid of clowns either, but I must admit I dont frighten easily and im not saying that in har har hard man way. I always thought in terms of how to kill it. I guess that makes me more of a bad guy than a good guy but ehhhh.
