Kiddies who all want an xsorbit board for themselves even if no one ever visits there. Apparently this has happened before and made xsorbit go down for a while. They're back now but a lot of people seemingly have gotten themselves a forum there again and it wasn't sure if their server could deal with it.

What are the xsorbit boards? Like message boards? Are they kewl? Do any kewl clans have them?

All xsorbit boards will be down for about 3-4 days while they move servers to a faster more reliable host. I got an email for it quite awhile ago and I guess all the other admins did too. But they should be back up in a couple of days better than ever [img]smile.gif[/img]

I deleted that email so I didnt know the exact date.
But be warned boards may be down for a few days in the near future.

Since they are so easy to create, everyone seems to want one. Im getting links from loads of persons who all started their own boards. I don't even bother going there anymore. There are a few good ones and all the rest is crap. So people, don't get one unless you are planning to do something serieus with them.

And to make a comparison, ProBoards (using a similar message board type as Xsorbit does) is having problems of its own. Features not working, major slowdowns... In the end, free hosting services are always a pain in the ass. But then again, that's what you get with free services; it's not that you're actually paying for good services... ;)

Exactly and unfortunately some people do pay Xsorbit for better quality (no adds, sticky notes etc) and THEY suffer when the whole thing goes down!

Well, that's what Mel and I were talking about, in short.
So it is as we feared, the paid message boards are on the same servers as the free ones and suffer from the same crashes/slowdowns/other problems. Not much you can do about it, I'm afraid. :(
