CYA

Helspanth 04-20-2002 02:14 PM

Never mind the fact that it turns to dust as soon as you exit the underdark,eh? :D
I'd say Red Dragonscale.

The Jabberwocky 04-20-2002 02:17 PM

And I agree with Helspanth. (Nevermind that Red Dragonscale is the only armor I can remember right now. ;) )

Isn't the pride of the legion in ToB?

Sir Goulum 04-20-2002 04:07 PM

No. Pride of the Legion is in SoA. I'd have to say for best armor...Armor of the Hart +3.

Lanthir 04-21-2002 10:28 PM

How about Gorgan Plate

Jim 04-22-2002 04:15 AM

Drow full plate doesn't really count because you can only use it for a single chapter, but that is the most powerful armour. I'm voting for Gorgon Plate +4 for SoA, since it has some elemental resistance, but most importantly, it provides the best protection against slashing weapons of any suit of armour (including ToB IIRC). It's AC-1 and has a -6 modifier against slashing weapons which rocks! This makes it better against slashing weapons than even a suit of full plate +3, despite the gorgon being only plate mail.

I believe that the plate made with the scales from the dragon from hell are as good as drow fullplate +5, but i got a better one, its the.... sorry can´t remenber right now. I will post'it later.

cyber7 04-22-2002 06:20 AM

I like the drown plate +5, and case you don't now you can use it during all the game, just give them, and all the drown stuff thet you whis to save to jaheira, or Imoem, befor you leave to the "exit the underdark" area then when you rejoin whit her she will still have the armor, in case you don't whant to do thet, I also like the pride of the legion or Gorgon Plate +4...

nope. but your PC has to be a paladin to get it. I think, in SoA, that the best is a tie between Gorgon Plate and Armor of the Hart. The Gorgon Plate has elemental and slashing resistance, but the Armor of the Hart is much more versatile.

However, in ToB, you get Shuruppak's Plate (AC-2, +1 Dex) and the White Dragon Scale, which counts as light enchanted chainmail +7, so it's AC-2, is usable by everyone but solo mages, allows spellcasting, gives 50% cold resistance, casts Cone of Cold 3x/day, AND doesn't require ANY dragonslaying to get! (but does get a crushing penalty :( ) Fun!

The best armor is the grand master armor found in ToB(+6) (quite early actually) Or the human flesh (+5) the better armors are the leather ones, as the other best ones are the +5 elven chain you can make in tob, and gorgon plate and then comes drizzt's mythril.....

SixOfSpades 04-22-2002 11:57 PM

Actually, the White Dragon Scale does NOT allow Wizard spells, but it does allow Thieving skills with absolutely NO penalties! (Other chain mails, even Elven Chain, will lower your Thiving skills while worn.)

Overall best starts out being normal Full Plate, until you don't need to worry about Saving Throws anymore, and that's when you pull on the Armor of the Hart or the Gorgon Plate. And then, glory be, you get Shuruppak's Plate in ToB and happily regain your lost point of DEX. The Grandmaster's Armor is also very nice, if your Thief still wants to keep his Boots of Stealth or Elvenkind, and the Asylferund Elven Chain is also a must-have, especially for classes like the Cleric/Mage.

Since ToB is mentioned I must say that there is an armor in ToB you forgot all about. This armor makes everything mentioned here look like nothing. This armor is a hugh spoiler so I'll not say anymore.

I choose not to count that because of the extremely remote chance that anyone would actually get it without cheating, and it makes you so big that you can't fit through most doors.

kanri 04-23-2002 07:29 PM

Does any one have human skin for armor i used the code ("leat21")to get it. It is ok. But only for evil char. only. HAHAHAHA!

Sir Mandorallen 04-23-2002 07:43 PM

You can get the human skin one from a multiple chapter quest thingy BTW.

Mine and your favorite class, eh Sir Exxon? :D :D

My favorite, for my cavalier... (yes I know I should agree with Exxon)
is the Red Dragon Scale Armor. The reason being, I put that on, the ring of fire resistance, and (I think it was) the ring of fire control. HA HA! That gave me 150 some odd resistance points.

Red Dragons Beware!!!!!!

SixOfSpades 04-23-2002 10:07 PM

The Human Flesh is indeed an EXCELLENT armor, but it's not really for Tanks. It's absolutely wonderful against spellcasters, however, and best put on a Fighter/Thief with Use Any Item, so you can attain a happy happy 100% Magic Resistance. Too bad it makes you look like you're naked when you're wearing it, though.

Deathcow 04-23-2002 10:21 PM

well....you sort of are naked, but its someone else being naked over top of you *shrug*

my vote goes to armor of the hart
