Due to an interesting conversation on MSN, I've decided to open up a serious discussion on conspiracies. Please - no flaming if you disagree with one or feel they don't exist. Just an interesting discussion on what conspiracies may or may not be 'out there'....

Barb 11-21-2001 03:46 PM

Adolf Hitler was gay. No one will beleive it.

Elif Godson 11-21-2001 03:49 PM

any one hear of the NEW WORLD ORDER and not the wrastling one.
or how bout spanking a child at birth causes sudden infant death sindrome ?

Dramnek_Ulk 11-21-2001 03:50 PM

99% of all conspiracie theories are a load of rubbish. Made up by people looking for some excitement in their lives, and belivied beacuse of wishful thinking. Most conspiracie theorys come from watching too much X-files.

SSJ4Sephiroth 11-21-2001 03:51 PM

yes, i have a rather interesting one about ex-General Douglass MacArthur, seeing as how he left my grandfather for dead in the Phillipinnes in the forties... anyways...

i think that MacArthur was actually a Japanese agent placed in the U.S. military in anticipation for the war. and when the going got tough, he ran away and waited for the conquest to finish. but when the Japanese stopped paying (he was paid off, since he was born in the States) he turned back to the U.S. and fought against Japan again.

We actually had that at school today. He WAS gay. I had an interesting theory about J.F.K though, wich Dragonmage has already heard and i thus will not post.

Legolas 11-21-2001 04:12 PM

Who came up with the idea there were conspiracies anyway? It was just a scheme to make everyone paranoid so they would overlook the bad things that were hidden in plain sight, searching for cover-ups instead. Then the nice government people provided us with one or two, pointing out bringing men to the moon was possibly fake, as only a few people would have been there to confirm it anyway, and maybe they were in the scheme too.

There's also some guy adding to Nostradamus' prophecies all the time as soon as something big happens, if you ask me. There's a familiy of keeper/adders who make sure we think their great-great-great-...-great-grandfather was a visionary..

How do I know you're really Legolas? What if every person on this board is just Ziroc in disguise in an elaborate plot to fool me into thinking you're all different people but really it's all the same person? What if Ziroc isn't really Ziroc? What if Choc is really an alien from outer space? What if I'm really dreaming this? WHAT IF I DON'T EXIST AT ALL!!!!!

Let's not get into the do we exist at all stuff. I had enough of that when Diognes was still around. ;) As for a conspiracy theory I can only think of a half serious one. What's with the tardy policy?
You're late 3 times, go to office to pick up your detention, and then end up late again, earning yourself yet another detention. Of course I'm never late.

Really? Gosh how interesting.... Kathleen has some of my boxers which she wears pretty often, but I wouldn't go rooting around in her underwear drawer. I really don't understand this guy....

from what i understand, there wasn't a whole lot of fighting. he could have routed the Japanese while they were assaulting the Pillippinnes, or at least not stayed in Australia for 3 or 4 years...

KHaN 11-22-2001 03:14 AM

well since im from the Philippines, and just took up my "formal" history lesson in college. you could say that AMERICANS did try to help the Philippines against the Japs however lost because of few men and weapons. they tried to protect and help the Philippines but lost in thier last stand against the Japs in some island (i forgot). in turn, the death march was placed against the Americans and the Philippine solders who fought against the Japs. America was halfway around the world (look at the world map), thier current technology then could not be able to move aircraft carriers right away , did not have enought military power because of pearl harbor, and was on the defensive side and the PHilippines was "secondary" since we were just a colonize country of the US. it was said that the AMericans agreed to let the PHilippines have thier independence right away. the PHilippines (under american rule) if captured by the japs, would be a humiliation to the americans that is why they wanted to let us have independence right away so the US would have no ties in the Philippines when the Japs captured us (my history teacher taught me that)

Have you seen the suicide note? I don't know whether its fake or not but it is a different handwriting at the end, which good lead me to believe that he was gonna kill himself but didnt and a hitman/murderer killed him and finished of the letter OR maybe cos he was high on heroine he jut decided to write the last bit in a different handwriting. Who knows?

Actuall, I was joking. He isn't. He went out with many women and even commited suicide with his wife Eva Braun. And his dog

Kurt Kobain didn't die. He faked his own death. The stress was too much for him.

SSJ4Sephiroth 11-22-2001 03:54 PM

erm well, about MacArthur, having your grandfather left for dead under his command will rather sour your opinion of any man. also his requests to drop a line of atomic bombs on the border between North Korea and China doesnt help my opinion of him either...

Lifetime 11-22-2001 11:28 PM

The biggest of them all..

What is the Matrix? Are we not computer-generated images living in husks in energy fields?

But seriously, does anyone believe that stuff about a New World Order and a secret world government/ illuminati stuff?
Like how these people engineer disasters so the Americans can move in, establish order and in the meantime establish a foothold in the nation? Like how the UN are really a front organisation for the said World Order composed of the 13 most powerful families in the world?

I think I've said too much.. they're WATCHING me...

SecretMaster 11-23-2001 12:19 AM

The U.S. did not land on the moon. Have proof, and based on info from a t.v conspiracy show, i believe we didn't. It was the FBI i tell ya!!!!!!! and goverment agent dudes!!

KHaN 11-23-2001 01:06 AM

You guys just wait til we have a standing army on active duty in the U.S. Patroling our streets, doing searches at checkpoints...hey didn't we frown down on the USSR for having military checkpoints? You think I'm joking? Read yesterdays WSJ page A8. That means the President will have 90 days, without needing Congress's consent to authorize any and all military actions within the U.S. The Founders be dammed! Kiss 'posse comitatus' and the Constitution goodbye! (Looking around for my tinfoil hat)...

This theory does hold some water. The U.S. did land on the moon, just possibly not when they said we did. Either that or it was a re-enactment because of camera problems on the real mission. Propaganda vs. Russia in my opinion. The people wanted to see us on the moon first, so the government gave it to us.

SecretMaster 11-24-2001 02:58 PM

Kinda old, but seriously, we landed on it during ? war. It was believed that whoever landed on the moon first would win the war. And then, poof, the U.S lands on the moon. Also, note that the flag was waving, not possible in space, no air. And did we see any stars in the backround?? no.

SSJ4Sephiroth 11-24-2001 03:03 PM

sine we were watching the Russians' every move during the Cold War, its safe to assume that they were watching us as well. I think they would know whether or not we made that up. If we had, I think that they would have said something about it by now. Or, if they didnt say anything about it immediately there would be some Soviet veteran trying to sell his story to a legitimate newspaper right now.

SecretMaster 11-24-2001 04:26 PM

Well, there was pictures taken by a Satellite showing a sector in Area 51, that had looked like the moons surface. Now whether it be for training or not, it could be possible that thats how they did it. Also, times the movement of the astronaughts by 4, and you get normal walking speed. I have yet to borrow a copy of the moon thingy, but I still will look into it.
