Actually there are three trailers and two commercial teasers available online. All are outstanding and gave me chills.
One made my throat clench shut.

Check out this site for all the trailers and teasers.
They just added a new teaser this week. You need to have Quicktime 5
installed...but the time is well worth it.

I will be seeing this the night it comes out

December 15 ... its coming ...

Stunning! Neb take a look!

Tarox 11-19-2001 08:23 PM

It "looks" good
Hopefully the acting/storyline doesn't destory it as do so many movies that have taken their story/plot etc from another media source.

Wulfere 11-19-2001 09:38 PM

The director and producers are fans of the books and they have said repeatedly that they have tried to stay very close to the books. I have high hopes from what I have seen and heard.

Me too!! I'm actually getting a bit tired of the people who keep whining about "Well all movies made after books are stupid and I'm not gonna watch it because it will ruin my inner image of what the characters look like"
First of all, I'm sure there are many films that you have watched of which you didn't even know they were based on a book and secondly, you have to realise that movies are simply a different genre than books, and therefore, the same story will be realised in different ways.
BTW I personally found Legolas to be exactly the right person for the role (Orlando Bloom), as well as many of the others.

OH I saw this trailer with Nachtrafe in Idaho last week at the theater.. WOW!.... Gotta tell you, on the big screen that was overwhelmingly INCREDIBLE! I think that is going to be one of the best movies out in ages and can't wait to see it!

Hi Mel! Good to see you! I too think that Lord of the Rings will be spectacular! The books were of course brilliant, but I'm sure looking forward to the movies!
BTW: Is it some QuickTime 5 required trailer? Cos when I wanted to watch the Star Wars trailer "Forbidden Love" (I had downloaded QuickTime 5 already) it somehow didn't play. Everything was OK (QuickTime 5 was required, I had downloaded it, AND installed!!) but the movie didn't play.. Kinda freaks me out, cos I really like Star Wars, but I especially like Natalie Portman!

Wulfere 11-20-2001 07:33 AM

Well Link...the Star Wars trailer is available in Quicktime 5 ONLY if you click on the small or medium trailer link. If you want to see the Large version of the trailer you have to get Quicktime 5 Pro which costs $29.95. I thought that was crazy.
Here is the link to the medium version. I hope you have signed up for the webpage, because they make you do that at Star Wars .com. This has played for me each time I hope it works for you.

Melusine...I thought Elijah Woods was a perfect choice for Frodo. He looks like I always pictured Frodo. An innocent looking young Hobbit if ever there was one. Ian Holm makes a great Gandalf as well.

This site has some great stuff for the movies. Lists of characters and picks of those who play them, as well as some stuff that could be considered to be "Spoilers".

Thanks anyway Wulfere, but it's just something with the downloading process, cos I know about Small/Medium size. I really hate this. Downloading QuickTime 5 took me pretty long, and suddenly it doesn't work!!

Wulfere 11-20-2001 12:52 PM

Sorry I couldn't be more help Link. I have a cable modem but, I still look at the download size and QT5 is huge for dial-up users.

Avatar 11-20-2001 05:26 PM

Hi Mel! Long time no see Might just be me not around :(
I think Lord of the Rings should be fantastic with 1 billion budget which is 10x titanic!
Also I too think Legolas, Liv Tyler and Galdriel are well casted

Ronn_Bman 11-20-2001 06:32 PM
