Has anyone heard ONE by Metallica? I just heard it and I think its fantastic!

Also has does anyone like Fear by Sarah McLachlan?

I need some good music to cheer me up these days, so does anyone have any recommendations?

Personally i prefer the older style of Metalica (don't know the song you are talking about), my favorite is forgotten heros on the master of puppets CD.

Anything from Metallica before 'Black' is good. They went
Hollywood with 'Black' and every album since then. "One" is by
far THE best song they put out. Master of Puppets would be next.

Aye I'm planning to hunt down a few more Metallica songs before I get the CDs..
One is 7 minutes of pure entertainment!

Unfortunately if I'm going to be studying I need something softer, which is where alternate musicians come in..

I'm not a huge Metallica fan. I'm more in the punk scene (Green Day, Blink 182, Sum41, Alien Ant Farm etc.) Therefore I'm not quite familiar with "One" by Metallica, although I know they have a song called "One" (http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/confused.gif You guys probably think I'm a cultural barbarian, right http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gifhttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif ) I do like "One" by U2! That's a beautiful song!

Its good to see some like minded people here. I have all of the Metallica albums except for S&M. Its because I like my classical music and my metal but I don't like them mixed. My favorite Metallica album is "And Justice for All" and my favorite song off that one is "Harvester of Sorrow"

Does anyone know Apocalyptica? A Finnish band who plays the same songs as Metallica - only with 4 celli? Sounds cool http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Rikard>>8 years ago I wasnt listening to Metallica http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

And I'm very much into punk rock too, but its not so good for studying, plus most of the good stuff is pretty hard to find on CD. Anti-Flag is sold out everywhere(its a pity..I want that CD)

Personally I like anyhting HARD. Metallica, Disturbed, Drowning Pool, PM5K, White Zombie, Korn, Godsmack, Rob Zombie, Megadeth and Black Sabbath. Type-O-Negative has some gorgeous songs with lots of stuff going in the backround. That's if your into the whole Vampire thing. Their music is something different for sure. The song "Wolf Moon" is about a fellow with a taste for blood and how his girlfriend satisfies him. "Love You to Death" and
"Bloody Kisses" are others. They also insert poetry of an odd type into "Haunted". Rush of course is always good for story songs. On the album "2112"
one entire side of that vinyl album was a single, awesome and haunting song.

But if you want study music I would recommend The Celtic Twilight Series. Yup I said Celtic Music. Very peaceful. Or perhaps some classical, as that is proven to stimulate cognative brain function.
