To settle a disagreement between me and a friend.
He thinks that Gandalf is a dwarf..I dont think is. I could be wrong..But I dont think so.. Reasons why Gandalf is not a dwarf:

I haven't read all this thread so maybe someone already said this: Gandalf is not human, not dwarven, not elven. Gandalf is a wizard which is a race apart from all of them, though closer to men. In the Silmarillion it is mentioned that the Istari are gosts or spirits that can assume many shapes but mostly use humans and elves (as their nature is most like to these two races). No, Gandalf is NOT a dwarf, NOR is he a hobbit!
