It would be very intersting to visit China, just to see a modern communist society and how it works. Have any of you read the Bear and the Dragon by Tom Clancy? I have no idea how accurate it is, but I thought it was very interesting. I would love to hear more about China and how the actual citizens think of it. Do they really kill kids if the family one child to many without government consent?

An'Hui province (the Yellow Mountain, fantastic place, but they closed Heaven's Capital Peak, kinda suck, that is the coolest place ever, watch out for heart failure.)
Hai Nan Island (well, not much to see)
Bei Dai River (beach, vacation... so-so)
Bei Jin (capital of china, I will go back in 2008!)
Zhang Jia Je (it is like a national park, wonderful place, a better place is Zion Canyan)
Shang Hai (you know whats up? it is better than Hong Kong now)
Hong Kong (ok, this place is getting weak)
Guang Dong (like New York, only smaller)
Sheng Zheng (one of the earliest trading city in morden China)
Hu Nan (well, Mao, Liu Shao Chi, etc those chinese revelution pioneers are from there)

Good god no!! Read my post in the population mismanagement:

No doubt you are all aware of the problems China faces..otherwise you won't be reading this.
You hear that girl babies are being abandoned in thousands. It is true but not as horrifing as if you think about it. Babies are abandoned in Britain. Britain has pop of 56m. China has over 1200m. Scale Factor. The thing is the one child policy in reality has no effect on the future. The educated Chines in the city which numbers only a very small % or the entire po, are having 1 if no children. Whereas the uneducated shop owners and farmers are having 7 to 10 children because they feel insecure. The government can NOT stop this. It can take away benefits and introduce tax, but the problem is food is no longer a problem in China. The farmer thinks his children doesn't need to go to school because he can feed them. This creates more uneducated children. Whereas the skilled educated % are falling relatively. Not good!
China stands 1/4 of the world pop. I wish it would fall to just a few hundred million, but then I wouldn't be here by probability.
One Hebre Old saying went something like this: Please correct me:
Economics are for nations, Education is for the future of the race.

well, can you find a place where people don't abuse child? chances are, you find more of those in a nation whose people are not well educated

I've never read Beer and the Dragon, tell me about it.
I am a chinese citizen, by the way

Ouch. Loaded question there...
I always thought I knew, and as a matter of fact I still know...thing is, I don't know when and even *if* I'm going to realise my ideals. Have been ill (chronically) for a year now and have NO IDEA when I can start living again, so to speak. So as you can see I'm not making any big plans for the future, just dreaming of them http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

actually, my mother adopted a child, a baby sister for me http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
what can I say? the tradition in china is

"boy is the extention of family's name"

most people in country side kept gave birth until they have a son. if the government is responsible for that, it is because they had not properly educated their citizens

To get back on the subject... I have no idea where my life is going right now. I'm planning to finish my education and study math, programming or something like that at Goettingen university - it is a very good one regarding math and science. I hope to get a job as a programmer or some such... maybe I'll end up working on Windows 2015! LOL. But there are very many unknowns in such plans, I'll just have to see what life brings and then make the best out of it...

no, you are not intruding.
I came to the stats when I was 16, and I spent 2 yers in high school at CA. then I went to Washington University in St.Louis, and currently buying a degree.. (ohh no... just kidding everyone)

what else do you need to know? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

by the way, Chinese education system is the... most efficient in beating knowledge into one's head. I've learnt so much in china, yet, I knew little about socializing, caring, loving, community etc etc until I came to United States. they both have their strong side and weak side http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

I just had to say LMAO 250! That was a good one!

Mark, I was going to say down the toilet but you kind of beat me too it. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/smiles/485.gif
I would have been joking anyway. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
I've seen my life go in many directions from around in cirles http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no.../hollering.gif to downhill at frightening speeds http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/smiles/eek.gif but for the last 15 years it has taken a steady and peaceful course toward peace, contentment and happiness. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
I am currently buying a degree myself http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif and plan on teaching elementary school. A job that will not only be very personally rewarding since I think kids are the greatest, but one that will offer comfortable wages and good retirement benefits.
I hear a lot here and there about how teachers are the worst paid as professionals. It really all depends on where you teach and what kind of community you are teaching in.
There are wonderful schools here and the teachers that I know do not live poor nor do they have what you could describe as a "middle class" existence. They live very comfortably, (with dual incomes) in expensive houses and own expensive cars.
This is not what I will be doing with my paychecks however. I don't mind living in this modest (but beautiful) cottage-type house or driving a car that is older than my favorite pair of boots (lol) but if my attitude changes later on (which I doubt it will) I will be able to *cough* show society my worth through more expensive material goods *cough* *choke* LOL.
I'll more than likely remain on this same track for a while, learning as much as I can about maintaining inner peace and happiness, developing a good relationship with the rest of the universe until I die with a smile on my face. This existence is wonderful and one I thought I'd never have the pleasure of enjoying to its fullest extent. I'm glad I made it this far and look forward to what each new day is going to bring me.

Where do I see my life going? Hmmmmm.... That's a tough one, somewhere up ahead I suspect, though how far I cannot say, where I'd prefer to see my life going would be somewhere in the computer game industry, even if it was a job that didn't pay much, just for the opportunity to influence the games that are created and to create something nice for other people to enjoy.

SSJ4Sephiroth 09-08-2001 09:24 PM

hard to tell... too young to say accurately, but id hafta say that i see myself graduating from a prestigeous college, becoming a great writer, and making money from that. im not sure how im gonna end up as a socail person, but as its going it seems like ill end up a lonely old man (hoping to change this soon). either that, or be committed to an insane asylum for my rants and emotional breakdowns, and possibly a public explosion (hopefully a clock tower isnt involved in any of the above).

It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Melding with the Planet, I will cease to exist as I am now. Only to be reborn as a 'God' to rule over every living soul.
