Not to long ago I was snooping around the Torn site. I read the bestiary, race, and perks section. Than I go to the news and read the entire game had been scrapped. Is that true? I hope it isn't. That game would've passed the time until Final Fantasy X and Metal Gear Solid 2!

I think it's true, but what the hell, with Arcanum coming in September(Or was it October?) we wouldn't have had time to play it anyway.

I read it on another forum as well, so maybe it is true. But perhaps another producer will take it over. It has been known to happen!

Found no info on either Interplay or black isle homepage about it.. I hope it is not true. The first screens look really good! I hope they will make it. So many other games have come out a disapointment we need something good in the wait for NWN.. BUHU!!!! WOLFIETEARS!!!!!

I am a bit disappointed in this news. I was looking forward to the release of this game and it looked like it might have been a great game. Oh well.

Bah, I am sure Arcanum will be FAR better, I hope they hurry up with Arcanum a bit, I need a game to keep me occupied until Warcraft III is released.

Personally, I'm waiting for Might & Magic 9 and the next Elder Scrolls offering from Bethesda...

Arcanum is an RPG from Sierra, I've played the demo and so far it looks really cool, it's a bit hard to describe, so go to http://www.Sierra.com for more info.

I agree that The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind both sounds and looks cool, just wish it had some MP capabilities though, Daggerfall would have been cool with MP, imagine it, if you could have, let's say, 2000 adventurers traveling all over the Daggerfall world, bumping in to one another now and then, trading items, helping each other with quests, sometimes fighting each other, it would have been cool.

How far along is M&M IX anyway?

M&M9 is supposed to out in 4th quarter 2001. Don't necessarily mean it will be, though. I agree about Multiplay Daggerfall. I could have worked!

Not that I have ever done any multiplayer stuff. I should think it would be tricky all getting on-line at the same time - and what if you want to keep playing when everone else has gone to bed?

Then you can kill them while they sleep at an inn, or maybe NPC heroes could be created that accepted quests and fought with and journied with the PC heroes, also, it would have been cool if it was possible to complete a quest before another completed it, so it would be a race to see who was first, and then, if the other band of heroes were the first there, the second ones could ambush them as they left the dungeon/evil stronghold, it would make for a great game in my opinion.

Well Arcanum looks to be a decent game, but TORN was going to be the one that could challenge NWN IMHO.. I do hope it will be released...

I doubt it will be released, it's official in the News section of the Torn part of the BI site, maybe they will resume it at a later time with large changes, but otherwise, no, I don't think it will be released, and I think Arcanum will be better than NWN by far.

I hope Arcanum is as good as you say it will be. A little competition goes a long way in the videogame industry. I haven't checked out Arcanum yet Neb, but I plan on doing so!

Bah, NWN will blow all of them out of the water. I mean think UO in DND style, whith people acuatlly RPing (Maybe). Beter then anything, IMO.

Grrr... so it is cancelled! Dang I was looking forward to this game after a single day of reading about it. Hopefully one day they'll revive it. I wonder why they cancelled it?
