I'm having a few problems... like it crashed when I tried to load the game after I installed ToB. Then I did a full reinstall and my CD player is having problems reading the disk. Apart from that it's going great.

No, Windows 98, but apparently I need to dl the Beta patch (sigh) because it is a problem with the laserlock security coding or something like that, it's all greek to me.

Apparently 5-10% of users with the European version are affected by this. Typically it happens to me, without the knowledge or patience to sort it all out!

I have now uninstalled SOA, and reinstalled it, and now THAT won't work either. So I now have to sort that out before I dl the patch, which will probably take ages. And there I was, thinking I would spend a nice Saturday playing my new game. Silly me. I was thinking that the developer/testing people were paid lots of money to make sure that problems like this were sorted out before release, but no, and it just ruins my weekend.

As you can probably tell, I'm really annoyed and kinda jabbing at my keyboard with a snarl on my face.

Huzzah! Good ol' Amazon.co.uk dropped it through my letterbox friday morning. The patch has fixed that dratted software recognition failure, and even now I am up to the elbows in a Highlander-style bloody Gathering of Bhaalspawn... hmmm.

Hey Epona, I had exactly the same problem as you did with the laserlock crap being unable to authenticate the CD. Downloading the beta patch fixes everything nicely though.

Well lovely Amazon got it to me Saturday morning which is now yesterday,and it's all seems pretty good so far and no problems what atall yet, and I'm using win2k with service pack 2 which I herd had some nasty problems http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif . I do like the Wild Mage, I was also under the impression that Rapiers were going to be included, they are not.
