This truly is disturbing, but you must realize that these 'death' threats are probably from a couple of 13 year olds that don't have much else to do than post 'crap' and send harrassing emails! I hope the ERB crew can track these people down and have them dealt with properly!!

yes, and it's a beyond a shame. It's a travesty. The actions of these small few have ruined it for so many, many, many people.

The Internet was originally envisioned to be a place where people could come to share information and ideas in a free-form environment. In the world we live in, I guess, that is virtually impossible. With a few exceptions (such as Ironworks), I would dub the "Internet experiment" as a dismal failure, killed by the cruelty of mankind. Pretty soon there will be nothing left but corporate "billboard" sites and sex rooms.

Well, Thomas was threatened because he removed art, not showcased it. Someone was showing art that was against policy, so it was removed. Then whoever knows the artist that had his certain works removed threatened Thomas with bodily harm.

Thomas is a good guy, but he doesn't put up with crap like that, and frankly neither would I. This was his only logical move.

I agree with your points though, it is rediculous. Grand experiement indeed.

Well, we (the elfwood community) have been told that the shutdown is indefinite. Whether that's true or not is up for speculation I guess. But as far as anyone is concerned at this time: its gone forever.

this sort of thing seems to be happening all the time, and just makes you despair of people. for every person who is prepared to do something good it seems there are sevreal who get a pathetic feeling of power out of this kind of thing.

I've had a talk with some folk and that is absolutely right. Elfwood will be back, although a specific time hasnt been decided upon. Those changes WILL be implemented fully before going back thought.

Why in the world would you send death threats to elf wood? I have no idea what happened there and would appreciate it if someone filled me in. Why do people always do their best to ruin a good thing?
