BladeMaster,
No, I am just a sucker LOL! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
I love all our animals. Cats dogs & fish. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Lioness,
Thank you! Believe me ten cats is about eight too many! They would have died had we not done something for them though. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

This is not how you get more LOL...http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

I took the digital camera outside to get pics of my next project before I start it and saw William getting ready for a nap in this big pot. I could not pass up the shot. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif I got another one of Captain Marmalade peeking into it right after this. She just had to see what I was taking a picture of that wasn't her. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif She got in the project shots too LOL. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Wah,
*HUGS!* Thank you!
http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/noncgi/smiles/485.gif I am glad you liked it! That Siamese being in the litter just floored us when we first saw him, but there he was! His dad is a pale cat with yellow striped "points" and crossed blue eyes. Guessing the Siamese comes from his side of the family. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif We called him "Cross-Eyed Pimp Daddy" for a year before we found out his name is "Stone Cold". Either one fits him. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no.../1grlaugh2.gif

All that greenery out that window is a vine covered dead tree that we cut down.
I am working on planting things out there this year that I can enjoy. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
I have a bougainvillea under the window and a birdhouse gourd vine. If I am sucessful with the birdhouse, I'll hang it next year and plant more.

By next year, I hope to have some shrubbery and some annual beds readied.
That area hosts our satellite dish in the center of that portion of the yard so I'll more than likely pave paths around the edges of the beds and shrubbery in something of a "U" shape so that I can maintain it all and avoid anything interferring with the satellite reception. On the inside of the "U", I'll more than likely take up the bermuda grass and plant low lying ground cover and a variety of small blooming things. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

I am going to study a tutorial later in the day and see if I can't get my cat page to purr LOL! I have a .wav of Seven's unique purr that would make viewing the page an awesome experience for any cat lover.

The page now purrs http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no.../1grlaugh2.gif
I recorded Seven one night...this is her normal purr, every last "layer" of it.
It even gets more intense!

Moni,

Your page is just wonderful! I love all the pictures, and the purring really adds to the effect.

I can't imagine managing 10 cats (well, as much as you 'manage' any cats). I have three, and they can still be a handful. Two of the three just don't like each other. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

I'm glad that there are people like you who are willing to help. I have a friend (she's a vet) that at one point had two dogs, one parrot, four cats and two ferrets that were all 'rescued'. The local animal control and police know to take any wounded strays to her clinic. She won't ever turn down any injured animal.

Kerivan,
Thank so much!
Lucky the ten are cats and do manage themselves pretty well.

We also have three dogs (all throw-aways too http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif ) that require more personal time and attention but when I can't handle the task due to having other duties around here, I do (thankfully) have Rex to help me out.
He is wonderful about playing with the puppy and helping the kitties get their "snuggle tanks" as he calls them, filled when my hands are otherwise full.
I am sure I could never handle it alone. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Two of our cats (William and Sweety Pie) are bitter enemies, but at they avoid each other...I am so grateful not having to moniter their whereabouts or stop fights!

P.S. Our local vet is pretty much the same, I know she has at least four cats and a couple of dogs. She is rather grateful to have us around, not just for the business we bring her (LOL) but for the fact that she knows there are people like her nearby who really do care. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Hugs,

Conan,
http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif
The name is a joke between my son and myself...we could always only afford two cats at the most when he was growing up. After I moved to Texas and took in Seven and her babies, I called him to tell him we had ten cats he said, "My Gosh! You've turned into the crazy Cat Lady! I can just see you throwing them at trick-or treaters on Halloween!" We laughed our butts off, http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/noncgi/smiles/485.gif
He wasn't serious, he had just seen an episode of The Simpsons with an old woman that the kids referred to as The Crazy Cat Lady who threw cats at them.
Thank you for the names though LOL, that is very sweet of you.
The title of the page is actually "MickySchwart'z Cat Page" http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
I did scare a friend from High School with the page though...she had a local "crazy cat lady" who died alone her house with her thirty plus cats.
The girl started in on me that I need to go out and find some friends LOL!
I have plenty of friends and acquaintences, so no need for anyone to worry.
Truth is, I am just a sucker for sick and homeless babies.
They are all spayed or neutered. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
Maybe next time I'll have the link say "Look What A Sucker This Woman Is!"
http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Feeding time is frantic some mornings LOL...cats all around my feet yelling at me because I can't move fast enough to get their bowls down and they don't understand just how in the way they are. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no.../1grlaugh2.gif

The Siamese...that's my Boo! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...s/EEhearts.gif
He was on the verge of death when I brought him in as a three month old stray who had been hiding in my yard for a few days...he actually collapsed and was hours away from dying the vet told me, when I rushed him in. 2 weeks of shoving pills down his throat cured him of massive intestinal parasites and he is my baby. Or, I am his LOL...he lets everyone know it too. He only talks to me when he REALLY wants someone to play with and none of the other cats will get near him...he plays rough and as big as he is, he can scare them all away, Captain Marmalade included. Even she has days where "enough is enough!"
When he gets lonely, I hear about it. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

There is a thread in the User Created Polls Forum about pets and the crazy things they do where I share a few stories as do many other forum members.
It is a great read if you haven't seen it. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Bahamut,
All rescues. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Rudy,
Thank you!
I intended to have pics of the three dogs on there as well but got kind of carried away with those "busy" collages highlighting some of the better moments in their first year here. My fav is the one of just the feet sticking out from behind the blinds. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Next update will be less crowded and I'll be sure to include room for the dogs.

Waluin 06-25-2001 12:55 PM

I have 3 cats myself, all street kitties by life or by birth.

"Mr. Boo" (aka "Ditto") is our oldest. He's a 7-year-old Maine Coon mix. I suppose you know why I call him Boo. Granted, he's not a hamster, but he's a good buddy. In honesty, however, I also call him that in homage to my aunt's cat Mr. Boots. Boots has survived being hit by a car (which left him with one eye), shot at with live rounds by a shotgun by some driveby rednecks(seriously), and some other maladies. He's still strong and healthy as ever at age 10+. A remarkable cat.

http://raven.clanplaid.net/walnboo.jpg

The second oldest is "Doodle". An extremely small tuxedo-like female stray we picked up from an abandoned shack at the local air force base. No pic sorry, she's really skittish. But she's a good cat.

The latest addition is "Morrie" or as I call him "Mr. Morris". He's just an average alley-cat I acquired as a small kitten. We've just pampered him since he arrived and now he thinks he runs the place. He has a lovable, amiable personality and is extremely intelligent. Since he's got such a baby face he often gets away with all the mischief he makes. He's recently learned how to operate doorknobs. *sigh*
