Very popular at the high school and University levels here in Canada.

Strangely, the beach version, especially the female games, seems to get more coverage than any other sort these days. Now why could that be http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...s/confused.gif

For fun at a sunny day beach - otherwise it's never played much here in England.

I am english, and I have only ever really played Volleyball whilst away on holiday. We did it rarely when i was at school.

I quite enjoy the sport actually, and I wouldn't mind it becoming more popular over here.

And Rikard, are you secretly working for the popularity and rules board of sports? Every post is about a new sport, but if you want to cause confusion, ask about something obscure such as Fencing,or Dominoes.

It is gaining popularity in schools here. It is really popular on the beach, though.

We californians take beach volleyball VERY seriously, with sponsors from the alcohol producers and sports merchandising industries falling all over each other to sponsor events and get some product recognition.

I love the sport, though I don't get out much to play it anymore.

On a slightly off-note - isn't volleyball the most popular sport at naturist resorts?

I got chance to play a bit at school - anything that can be played "mixed" is always good.

Well us Dutchies did win gold in the Atlanta olympic games. But it isnt that popular to be honest. There is one sport here which (like most of Europe) pales all other sports based on popularity, and that is football (what you americans mistakingly call soccer http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif)

Hey Rikard, just noticed you a Dutchie too. But be honest, it isnt that popular here....

I think Dutch "soccer" has been well covered recently. I'm sure some of our friends from the Emerald Isle will have some comments http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Believe me - there have been plenty of times that I really wished I could speak Dutch.
I just can't get the hang of languages.
I once tried to learn Greek. That was laughable.

I learned a little bit of Dutch some time ago. The problem with trying to improve is that Dutch people won't speak dutch with you, They want to improve their english http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

There is a bar in London where Dutch and Belgians meet once a week. The only rule is that if you go there the only language you are allowed to speak is Dutch.

Bit far for me to travel... That's the biggest annoyance with living this far north, everything cool happens in London.

Volleyball is a popular sport in Ohio. Girls play it as the fall sport (guys get football) in high schools. I played it at the University level for 3 years. Most fun out of all the sports I've played. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
