We have DSL .. costs us $35.00 per month to have all 5 computers online at the same time. We like it a lot. Seldom have connection troubles .. fast enough to watch streaming video .. it's great.

I also have dsl at home. It is great and only costs $30/month. It was kind of a pain getting it set-up (had to work between the phone company and the dsl provider) but it was well worth the hassle!

Hi Slackerboy, I have cable and love it. I bought my own modem, so only pay about $34.00 a month and yes, it is definitely worth it. You're always connected and don't have to dial up every time.

I have cable and it costs me $40 Canadian. the bigest file downloaded was 30 megs and I downloaded it in 6 mins.

actually i have cable to, and hey blademaster. try downloading a big file with download accelerator. i pay 50 but i dont have my own modem.

I have AT&T Broadband (formerly MediaOne) and pay $45 a month and am thinking about DSL, as recently I have noticed lack of upload speed (which, as a game host for First Person Shooters, is a prime requisite.) I am thinking of going with EarthLink DSL, but haven't commited.

I've got cable modem, and pay about $40 a month. I used to have 56k, and wouldn't go back to it - EVER!!!! It's very worth it.

Have DSL and love it, it is so fast and well worth the cost which I think is about $50 per month. And I rarely lose the connection unlike with my 56K.

Well, I installed/connected to DSL yesterday, thus I have not had the chance to gather much experience with it. But so far it seems fast - anywhere but on the board that is ! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif I got it from German Telecom (768 down/128 up) and in my case, as a "heavy user", it actually helps me save money ! In Germany flatrates are still virtually unknown. The only two offers I am aware of are both only available with DSL. The one I am using costs 49 marks a month ( about 22 bucks )and then I have to pay an extra DSL fee of 15 marks (about 7 bucks) a month on top of my normal ISDN telephone tariff of ( 60 Marks - $ 27 - a month, but my flatmate pays half of that). So my fixed telecommunications costs amount to 94 Marks or $ 43 dollars a month (plus, of course the variable telephone fees) - still a lot of money, but a far cry from the $ 100 online costs alone I a managed to amass in April. Hey Slackerboy, you should think about buying your own modem. It will pay for itself in the long run, even though you have to come up with about $200. I think when I bought mine, I got $100 rebate, so it was definitely worth it.
