You guys I know a lot of shit went down on the Ironworks GD forum lately and I would just like to say I thought we were better than this! You may have been angry at Ken for comments he posted on this site but that is no excuse for a lot of things that were said. We were blaming him for flaming when in actual fact we were not much better! I am not taking sides here (the politicianhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif) but I think that we owe an apology to Ken for the way we treated him. This is not about Zirocs apology to him but another matter about how we have treated him when he was here and even some people continue to do so now. Now do not take this as bringing the old subject up again but as just a way of finishing it off better than we started. Yes Ken has been reading on this site and with all that is being said about him I dont blame him for being angry. So if we could just say a simple sorry for the way we treated a new member here it could just relax some tension here. I know a lot of you were P'd off at him but we didnt have to do what we did. I know yeah yeah Im the young un 17 yr old here and I dont know anything but would it really be so hard? And mods pls dont take this the wrong way and delete it.

I don't think that we should close or delete this thread. It's a good thread. No matter who it is, flaming someone when they cannot defend themselves is WRONG and cowardly IMHO. A lot of people who are now flaming weren't even here when this happened. This is just a HUGE misunderstanding because people from ALL sides lost their tempers and I can't blame anyone for it - I lost my temper too.

We need to treat people with the respect and courtesy that we would expect to be extended to ourselves - and that means NO flaming, no personal attacks, especially if you didn't know what happened and the person being attacked does not have an opportunity to defend themselves.

FWIW, I had a long chat with Ken and Lady Nightshade (and I have known Ken and LN for a little while) and found them to be fair and reasonable people. Lady Nightshade in particular is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. You know, what I am mostly feeling for Ken is compassion. For all his obsessive need of control and praise, which makes him deny himself such joy and wonder in life by meeting great people and making real friends. I believe he harms himself much more than he does us, we all have each others to feel warm and happy here, and he has cut himself from that.

I received an indirect mail from him (I was 'CC'ed), telling me that my welcome to him was fake, and I can only feel sad for all the happiness he misses. I mailed him back telling him just that, I hope for him that he will pay attention. But it is up to him.

Ok. Still sore at him for banning Moiraine but she is back with us now. WE MISSED YOU, MO. I can understand him being sore if he thought his wife was being ostracised (I would too).
