Moridin 04-09-2001 03:06 PM

I tried emailing you (Ziroc) but it kept coming back as undeliverable so I am posting this here!

When I am posting or replying to a topic my cursor blinks very rapidly and sporadically. It is very, very, very, very, very annoying and is starting to cause headaches and eye strain (and I am afraid of an epileptic seizure http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif). No seriously, is there anything you can do to change this? It happens on both my home and work computer so I know the actual computer is not the problem.

Is anyone experiencing this???????

Mine does it too. I can't begin to imagine why.

So does mine and it is annoying!

Xanthul 04-09-2001 04:39 PM

I think its due to the lots of smilies available now for our replies. Having so many animations in the screen may cause the cursor to blink.

Memnoch and Ziroc itself will know better though.

Yep, same here...also, my cursor will leave "tracers" of itself behind in the message, making it very difficult to proof, especially when it's close to an "L" or "I". Strange!

You hit the nail on the head, it IS the smileys or the animated gifs in the posts. want me to remove some of the animated smileys and see if it helps

Too bad there isn't a way to see which are most popular and take out the least used ones! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif Is it only when we use them in our own replies that it causes that problem? My cursor looks fine now.

Moridin, right now before you forget, email me at: ziroc@tgeweb.com (Make sure ya spell it right) and if it bounces back, cut and paste the 'error' message (entire thingy) in this thread. I need to know why thats happening, BIG TIME.
Also, try webmaster@tgeweb.com or contact@tgeweb.com -they all go to me.

Ziroc

Anyone else with a Hotmail account, try to email me (any address from above is fine). I'll look into this, this is not good.. I BET its because we don't have a secondary DNS machine. hmmm

I don't really know if it has to do with the animations. I was having a lot of trouble with it in the Wizards and Warriors forum yesterday, and posters there are downright Spartan (compared to GD) with their anims and signatures...usually a text signoff is all they use there.

LadyRae 04-09-2001 09:42 PM

Moridan, It's all his little animated smileys for topics... Try this (it works for me) scroll the page so all the cute widdle smileys you could choose are above the browser's toolbar... In other words, are OFF you screen. This puts the text cursor back to a slow (normal) steady beat. Only problem is, you might get a crick in your neck from looking up! (I've got a 17" monitor!) Hope this helps. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/heee.gif
