Mine was the "Chocolate the Great" awareness post. That post took off fast, and brought forth the ability to use http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...-mycat-anm.gif

I don't think I've had one! I'm a legend in my own mind though... Perhaps some contributions to the Great Holy Smiting thread are of note..

How does one measure success?

I don't recall ever having one of my posts go to over 25 posts (I'm not whining or complaining about not getting attention Rikard).

So I'll say that my most successful post was when I replied to a message and was able to figure out how to scribble the html code to quote two different people in the same message. That one ranks right up there with how I learned to make words in <font color="#FFFF00"> color </font>.

Not sure. Maybe the Icebreaker threads? If by successful you mean lots of replies. But I would also say that I consider number of different respondents as a benchmark too. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif

As far as number of replies, it had to have been one I put on the old board (partly in response to complaints about off topic threads) about how happy I was to have come across "real" people on a gaming message board. Totally blew away the sterotypes of D&D and AD&D players I had developed as a callow youth.

In terms of success, any game related post has been tremendous for me. Someone has always (well one exception) responded with courtesy and respect - no matter how many times my question has been asked. In addition, several (Memnoch, Black Knight, Sir_Tainly, Donut, Jerome, Gabriel, Hesperex... shall I continue?) have provided most helpful links when they felt it might be inappropriate to resuscitate the dead horse I was beating. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif

As the creator and major contributer to the "Evil Smiting" topic i think i can saftely say that that would be my most outstanding memory, but the one where i first talked to CB and BK, and then became arch-nemisi' with them was pretty funny to.....oh and i think i accuired Hellfire as a partner in that one too...pretty productive! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif

I have no most successful post but I do have a most unsuccessful post ....
The one on the old board where Wah and I were racing each other to see who'd reach '200 posts' first.. and crashed the board ..... http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/FRblush.gif http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/redface.gif

Awww, we forgive you Melusine http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif! I think at a certain point Evil Smiting went over 150 and crashed the board....but i think that might be wrong.... the point is though that it used to happen to everyone back on the old board! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/wink.gif

Wah 04-04-2001 02:39 PM

I fact I felt really bad too after the "Big Bang"http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif. I thought - "Dammit, me and Melusine have really screwed it this time!"

But thankfully it was not that wayhttp://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif

My thread? Well, yes the one with Melusine was outrageous and I also have two other good threads.

* The Battle Between The Stories of Rikard And Me

* POWERFUL MAGIC

The "powerful magic" thread is my best in my opinion, it was truly funny and we even had a little visit from "Mr Flamer" himself.

Hey Wah i remember that thread! That was hilarious! And i remember that ziroc deleted all of "his" posts, making Armisael look slightly deranged http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/wink.gif

Do you like the new sig? Sutibly "dark" enough?

Never had one, but I do remember most of the ones you mention.
Wah's 'Powerful Magics' does rate up there with me too. We did have alot of fun making up all those new and often outrageous spells. Still don't know why my 'Simulacrum, Bill Gates' never took off though.. Damn powerful spell that one was....*snicker*

Depends how you define success. The 'Sojourner' threads have been personaly satisfying for me, the 'Give Moiraine a hug' thread succeeded in solidifying a good friendship. 'Insulting Leonis' was very fun and introduced a r/l legend to the ways of the board, and 'I'm listening to Mongolian Throat Singing' meant a friend went and experienced something in r/l they otherwise wouldn't have.

Successful ? I don't know, YOU tell me ! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif (Successful means ' a lot of people have read the post and loved it', am I right ?)

What I know is that "Moiraine" has so become a part of me that if I was to read again about the real Moiraine in the book I took that name from, it would feel very weird ! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...miles/wink.gif
