The only real scar on this game is the fact it CTD's every 30 minutes, some fights will not end, dialogue is skipped and that Kreia is an annoying old hag. Otherwise I would make babies with it.

I had no real problems with the game (with the exception of Kriea being a hag, thats true.)

My problem is I was trying to play a good character, and failed... repeatedly.
Apparently making people give you their money and then commit suicide is evil... Who would have guessed :D

I adore Kreia, a bit later in the game she offers you so much wisdoms and answers the questions you have been pondering about! It is just awesome.

Hell I was happy just running around with my double sided lightsaber making people suffer :D

...and I will have you know that I am firmly on the light side. I just have the occasional, err, slip :D

I hate Kreia. It's impossible to gain influence with her without being evil. That is retarded!

Despite that fact I always include her in my parties because she's a force user. No other reason.

I'm currently trying to play an LS Guardian -> WM, but for the second time I've gimped up on a quest, and now have to restart >.<

My problems with it are the Swoop Racing being gimped if you choose certain dialogue options, Kreia being a hag and it being impossible to gain influence with her while being LS, and having too few skill points for the amount of ranks / skills you have to invest in. That REALLY pisses me off. Also quests being gimped if you don't do them in a certain order, and various bugs / glitches.

Other than that, it rocks. KOTOR2 to KOTOR is like BG2 to BG. I expect it will win RPG of the year.

I just ordered KotOR 1&2 for PC online. I had been running around to something like eight or nine gamestores searching for a copy of KotOR 1. I was beginning to believe that the PC version was just an urban legend, or like Santa Claus; something parents tell young roleplayers to make them behave and eat up their vegetables.

Kotor 2 is awesome.

I like the fact that you get to decide if Revan was male, female, good or evil. And that you get to chose your old lightsaber.

As well as the flashback you get to control...

And no, it's possible to get some influence with kreia without gaining dark side points. I'm full light side and I was able to unlock all her discussions. It just took tons of reloads...

I only got one of two bugs.

I get about one crash every 2-3 hours. And once, my character got stuck in a wall while in battle and I had to reload.

Oh yeah, now that I think about it, I do get lot of bad npc placements. For example a npc being supposed to be in a forcecage but being outside instead, or a character that should be exiting trough a door but the door closing too fast and the character being stuck there until the next cutscene.

I like it as much as Kotor 1.

I have only one complaint, loot is really hard in this game. Being light side I get nearly no cash, and what I do get end up being donated to people for various reasons, so I'm stuck with what I find. So far, about 75% into the game, I got a total of 40 medkit, a couple level 1 and 2 weapon upgrades, and that' about it. my armors suck too.

My characters are using guns I've had since the beginning of the game, and all my melee jedi are using vibroblades... if they are lucky.

Beside the lightsaber I made I found 2 short ones. One is used on my main character, the other get swapped around...

I bet this will be very different in my evil game.

What problems do you seem to be having? I'm getting to my 3rd or 4th planet, and haven't any issues other than the CTD every 10 screen transitions it seems. Kreia i just ignore, her behind my back actions are really starting to bug me a lot ;) I've filled out my party and have light side mastery, and i really like how in this game, it refelcts amongst your party too.

T3 is fixing the Ebon Hawk, eventually he finishes and just wanders around for fun.

How could you possibly be having money problems? Pazaak? Hello?

Not to mention selling all of the crap you don't need.

Don't bash open containers, it breaks stuff. Blow them open with mines or use Security.

Remember you don't need enough gear to outfit EVERYBODY, just keep enough to equip the three people you want to take with you (PC, usually Handmaiden / Disciple for LS, Visas for DS, and Kreia / Atton). Not too terribly hard. Atton is better off with blasters anyway.

You shouldn't need medkits at all. They're useless compared to Heal.

Wow I never knew so many people were on the light! My guy is so evil he pulled a Michael Jackson! Meaning my char was black but as he became more evil, he became more and more pale! Now he is deathly grey kind of pale. And if I really look into his eyes its creepy.

Strange, I never got Disciple. Instead I got a crappy GOTO and useless HK. Who is he and what is his speciality, and why haven't I gotten him yet filled up my NPC allotments?

I was just wondering if you are allowed to play a solo character in this game, and if you are, will you get a lot more experience points?

How does the character development system work in this game?

You can do solo, though it would be DAMN hard. There is no xp benefit, whatever you kill's xp goes to ALL your party members, its not split up. The character development system is simple, yet highly effective and customizable.

What causes the random crashes then ? I hate it when a game does that, isn't there a patch out yet ?

You can only get Disciple if your character is female, male characters get the Handmaiden.

So I take it he's the romance interest then?

I believe so, but I cant be sure. Never ran a female character.

There is no "romance" in KOTOR2 really.

Damn, I have a paper to finish by tuesday. This doesn't bode well.

Patch is "coming soon", according to Gamebanshee. I haven't had major bugs yet (touch wood), except for the time my character got stuck in a wall. I had to reload. :rolleyes:

Hey, how do you get R3D2 (or whoever he is). He got blown up and I couldn't work out how to get to him. I'm about to enter the Harbinger now, just offed our old friend from KOTOR 1. Is he (R3) coming up or have I missed something?

No, you haven't missed anything. Don't worry, and remember, what LOOKS the same, IS the same, don't be fooled by touch ups. What pisses me off the most (now that I have finished it) is the fact that
A) Atris wasn't developed enough.

Yeah, you should be able to challenge Atris to get your lightsabre. That'd be awesome.

Yes, I ended up figuring that out. I'm now off the planet, haven't talked to Kreia in detail yet. Bit surprised as to how she managed to escape from Mr Armadillo. Maybe she's a plant?? Hmm. Doubtless I'll find out. Anyway, I had flashbacks of Bastila fighting Malak in KOTOR 1. :D

I finally had the CTD last night, luckily I'd saved like 10 seconds before.

I was on the second planet (well the first planet since the first site was an asteroid), and just jumped into the body of the protocol droid I conned by pretending to be a robot technician.

So for me the crash is very infrequent (I had quite a few hours into the game by that point)

I have not found Kria to be SUPER annoying yet, but her carping about how I shouldn't be helping people is starting to get old... also since I went the Consular route she's a bit redundant... I want a nice super powerful Guardian on my team to be a tank! I lost influence with her in my most recent conversation with her... but up until now I'd gained it several times. Hopefully you don't need to have a 100% gain influence record to unlock all her dialog options.

I've finished all the planets now, and am heading towards the final chapter. Not a single CTD yet, and neither did i run into any major bugs. The only annoying thing that happened was that Handmaiden's stance kept switching back to passive. I don't exactly recall where it happened, but i had to go through the whole dungeon as good as without her, unless i took control of her myself.

When i set her stance to aggressive, it automatically switched back to passive, time and time again. I don't know if that particular dungeon had anything to do with it, but i never took her along on any missions after that. I stick with the blind chick and that jigsawfaced dude, who actually became my apprentice later on. He's a Jedi Guardian too now.

I'm a level 15 Jedi Guardian, and from that moment i took the Jedi Master path, and reached level 9 there. Put the two together, and i'm at level 24. Not sure how much room there's still left for leveling up, but i know for a fact that i should have been at least two or three levels up more, if i'd completed all sidequests in the game so far. I have a truckload of unfinished quests on my datapad, but i'm not going back to finish them all. Maybe that tomb on Dxun, but i have to find explosives that can open the door first. If anyone has a tip on where to get such explosions, i'd be grateful.

Another thing i missed was the closed door in the Sith academy, the old private chambers of the Sith lord from the first game. Can anyone fill me in what i missed inthere ? I don't think there's a chance i can go back there, since the door won't open anymore.

When i'm finished, i'm gonna play the game a second time, and find out how high you can level up if you do every little thing that can be done. That's something i always GOT to know with games like this. :D

well I have kotor2 now but havent installed it yet i have to finish another game first.

What's the deal with getting stuck in walls? Second time it's happened to me now. It's annoying. I have to quicksave every couple of minutes.

Seriously, never happened to me. The only bug i've seen is a passive Handmaiden in the midst of battle, as i described in my earlier post.

Yesterday I had a few quirks but no crashes:

First of all... I'm hardcore light path so I expect the quests I've done are influenced by that.

I'm just left the second site (the first planet after the asteroid the Sith blew up behind me) and my light/dark meter is already off the scale to light (starting to cover the words just above the scale)

On that planet, after I finished getting the data out of the Czerak (sp?) Mainframe as the droid... I got switched back to my body but my minions had disappeared. I had to finish that section without them (including going back to save the two hammer headed guys from the merc's by myself... hairy fight that). Once I got on the shuttle they were back with me... thankfully.

In the holding tanks at the new Jedi academy, there was a cutscene where Kria had a conversation with the Scoundrel... well she was there but his tank was empty, Kria was having a conversation with an apparently invisible scoundrel.

My character decided to go passive in the middle of a firefight on the ground on that planet (after the shuttle landed).

I had this one too in my first game. He was standing in the next room, but actiing like he was in the forcefield. The game oftem misplace it's nocs.

When you lost your npcs you just had to open your character selection screen and add them back in.

That's nothing, the mandalorian on dxun was doing bizzare things to my chest. In the korriban locked chamber is a holocron with Bastila blatering on (female only I think)

It's only if you set Revan to Dark Side. If you are light side, your R2-D2 droid can play an holo similar but with Carth.

No, and raise your gamma settings. </font>[/QUOTE]I meant in terms of the whole "feel" of it. In KOTOR 1, Dantooine was much brighter, in addition, all the dungeon crawling got old, fast. Peragus was boring, IMO, Taris had the whole benefit of being a city, with lots to do (Pazaak, Racing, Dueling, etc), whereas in Peragus, it's all just running around.

I did get a bit bored with Peragus, as opposed to Taris.
