I just completed Diablo 2 (normal difficulty). It took me three days and by the end I was level 25. I thought it was a pretty good acheivement.Have any of you done it quicker? (I was playing with Barbarian, which makes it alot easier)

Blind_Prophet 07-26-2004 01:42 PM

i've gone all the way through nightmare on single player one day.

Kruspe 07-26-2004 03:56 PM

ive completet normal with some friends, it took around hmm .. 7 hours or something.

althought we spread out and made it go quicker

Assassin 07-26-2004 04:06 PM

You beat it with a level 25 barb against 1.10 Baal? Good job.

Nightowl2 07-26-2004 08:14 PM

Doesn't sound like he went through LOD. L23-25 is about right for the original game without the expansion (or before going on to LOD). You'd have to skip a lot to reach the end of LOD at only L25.

Kakero 07-26-2004 08:19 PM

hey! my assasin beat all 3 difficulty with only level 9.

Betelgeuse 07-26-2004 09:25 PM

i finish lod and the cow level at lvl 35. managed this with all the different characters, even the ones where the lackey does more killing than me

Bahamut 07-27-2004 10:02 AM

Do you have the expansion or not? Expansion is so much + 1.10. :D

Not to mention the players x setting... :D

Nightowl2 07-27-2004 11:10 AM

Only level 9, Kakero? How did you pull that off? Especially if you did all three difficulties. I can't see how that's possible legitimately.

Nightowl2

Assassin 07-27-2004 12:00 PM

IIRC, it is impossible, because you need at least level 60 in order to beat Hell Ancients. (Even when leeching =/) If you have LOD.

So explain what "rushed" is, because I still can't envision any way of going through the game three times and ending up only level 9. My mind boggles at the very thought!

When you play long enough you learn tricks

Nightowl2 07-28-2004 11:17 PM

Sure. Easy to dance around the question and not give any details. I'd love to know what "tricks" you could use against, say, Duriel in Hell mode, at so low a level he could just sneeze and kill you.

I think this business of "finishing at level 9" is about on a par with the secret cow level of the original Diablo.

Kakero 07-28-2004 11:35 PM

no, it works with 1.10. but you'll need to play either in Bnet or Lan/tpip game.

normal mode ->
Act 1 have someone to beat Andariel
Act 2 You can skip all the quest. just stay in town. have someone who haven't beaten Duriel to beat Duriel.
Act 3 have someone to Beat quest 5 and quest 6.
Act 4 have someone to beat Diablo.
Act 5 Just stay in town and have someone who haven't beaten Baal to beat Baal.

Repeat this for nightmare and hell mode and you'll have a lv 1 Matriach/Patriach if you want to.

Think what you want, but if your acctually going to act like you know everything go right ahead, cause obviously You can't be called an avid d2 player.

Well, *I* certainly wouldn't applaud someone working with the tactics Kakero described. It's just lame.

Betelgeuse 07-29-2004 08:20 AM

let me get this straight, to finish the game you need to get someone else to finish the game? how pointless. i'll stick to the way i'm playing now - the delightful solitude of single player

Assassin 07-29-2004 08:47 AM

You don't need to; it's just the way some people do it. And I like single player as well; Trade over TCP/IP with other people if you need to, but there isn't any lag, and you still get all of the ladder-only items.

Nightowl2 07-29-2004 10:05 AM

Yeah, I was thinking about that last night after posting, and it occurred to me that you could only do this with someone else (or several someones) doing all the real work and skipping as much as possible. I normally play solo, and was thinking from that perspective.

But as Betelgeuse said, it's kinda pointless to just stand around and not do much. Can't see how that could be fun, but to each his own.

I have just lost every ounce of appreciation on Kakero's gaming... Lazy bum.

Well people can play like that, people can play like me. I run everything, always at players 8, untwinked and now Hardcore. Wehehehe who cares about the FE bug (who am I kidding)! Scary thought that FE bug is... :(

not pointless , How long have you been playing Diablo 2 hmm? have you gather so many items that your character couldn't hold? eyup, many players on battlenet encounter this problem and they need another character to carry the goodies.thus they need mules.

The reason to have a low level matriach or patriach mules is so that your mules can enter hell game when you are muling. duh nobody ever thought of this before? hello?

edit : Blind_prophet is correct, there's not many avid d2 player here.

edit2 : btw Blind_prophet, are you playing in the new ladder season?

Assassin 07-29-2004 12:01 PM

... most people, at elast in my experience, mule in Act1 Normal. There isn't any need to make a hell game.

Kakero 07-29-2004 12:12 PM

think about this first,

Case 1, you mf in hell games as hell games got good drop. then when you do find something. You want to keep it in your mule. How lucky you are as you have a mule that can enter hell games. so you bring in your mule to your hell game ( the game that you are currently mfing with ) and immediately do the transfer. after that you can bring back your mfing character to continue mfing in your current game.

Case 2, you mf in hell game. then you found something. you want to mule it. however you don't have any mule that can enter your hell game. so you exit and create a normal game. you then have to wait for 5 minutes for the game to burn ( to be permenant ). and then after 5 minutes you bring in your mule and do your transfer. after the transfer you exit the game and bring your mfing character and create a new hell game and have to wait 2000 people in line before it actually let you create a game.

so tell me which one is faster?

Blind_Prophet 07-29-2004 12:54 PM

yeah i'm gonna make a new account and start new ladder soon i've been to busy to play for the last month or so.
