The topic was getting long again so time for a new one. Read on!

Just to irritate all the youngsters out there, a couple of Ultima questions ;)
1. Which was the first Ultima designed especially for the PC (all earlier ones being developed first for the Apple)? 2. Which Ultima featured a party for the first time?
Nightowl2
|
1) Ultima 1: The age of darkness
2) Ultima 3 |
Well, ya blew the first one, Xen; it ws Ultima VI that was on the PC.
However, you were right on the second one: Ultima III featured a party of 4, where the previous games had been solo outings. SO, you're up next.
Nightowl2
|

bumping for Xen

If Xen doesn't post by Tuesday, I'll set up two new questions.
Nightowl2
|

it may have been a port from another platform b/c he said designed especially for the pc. seeing as all the ultimas can be played on pc now
|
I know, Betelgeuse, but I played all Ultimas from II -> VIII (in order) . I remember that Ultima V had 5 or more disks for the C64 and you often had to wait minutes for a new dungeon to load ( haven't finished it therefor ). But I bought my first PC that time and I immediatly bought U5 to play it in an acceptable speed.
But that was a long time ago and I'm old, so maybe I'm wrong :D . |
All Ultimas through V were personally designed by Lord British for the Apple, with later ports to other platforms. Ultima VI was the first designed-for-PC game, and a strange experience it was, since the graphics were all new and the world was now one size.
Anyway, I'll post a couple new questions tonight if Xen hasn't shown up by then.
Nightowl2
|

I've no idea what this game is, can only think of a few with robots in, things like Mech Warriors, I remember a robot taxi in Mercenary 3.
I know what you mean about Euro 2004, who do you think will win? |
In War of the Monsters you could be a robot, and pick stuff up and chuck it at the opponent, who could also be a robot. You couldn't pick up people, but you could step on them and make little red splotches on the ground. :D
|
Nobody`s got it guys.
|
Robot City? or is that a book ;)
|
No it`s not Robot City.
Hint: zero |
I doubt anyone's going to get it, Xen. It would be a good idea if you put up an extra question since that one's been up for a couple of days now
|
Is it Slave Zero?

for Bozos of Bones.
|
Bump recieved...
1. In what game can you hear the following line "Ah! OK, OK, I will work." 2. This high-ranking music-maker made the soundtrack(most of it) fot StarCraft. |
1. The SCV's in starcraft?
|
Nope, but it's a unit response from a RTS...

Poor little buggers. "I'm hungry" "can I have some shoes?" "That was alot of work..." Good thing my Chinese gatling gun tanks put them out of their misery pretty quick ;) |
Yeah, Chinese are my favorite too, but it's a darn shame they made America too powerfull, ruined game balance. Anyway, yes, that's the answer to no1. And the answer to no2 was The Prodigy.
|
Ok then.
In the Legacy of Kain series, what name does 'The Nemesis' go by before he embarks on his quest for world domination which Kain so delicately halts? [ 07-10-2004, 07:13 AM: Message edited by: The Hierophant ] |

Ah! A LoK question! Without me being here!
|

[bumping for Link....again]

If Link doesn't show up soon, the last person who asked should go again.
Nightowl2
|
I'm sorry, I'm here again :D
I always forget about this when I know I posted the right answer Okay, answer one of these two questions right, and you get the next one; 1) Why is it that the adventure doesn't stop after you've beaten Gados in Lufia 2 on the SNES? Explain what happens next and why you have to fight Gados again! 2) Who's the nasty bugger in Super Mario Kart on the SNES who's always in the lead (or in second place when you're driving first) whilst playing on 100 CC mode? |
the opponents abilities in mario kart depend on which character you are racing with
|
Okay.. then make the racing character Mario
|
1) Did you think of this question after reading the 'Old SNES game' topic I made?
Um, if that's the last boss, I remember something about the last boss not dying and then the three people you fought before reappear, and then for some reason, everyone acts near dead. I forgot what happens other than the mage girl probably dies, and Guy and the blue-haired person possibly do something and/or run away. The game doesn't end because the final dungeon is going to crash into the town with your kid in it. You somehow have just enough strength to destroy the three crystals in the dungeon, and that somehow makes it go way off course. Then the main character becomes a spirit and joins the mage girl, and the world is saved! And Guy and the blue-haired guy are alive. If that's not correct, I've got no idea. 2) I haven't played it, but unless they invented a new character for that game, I'd guess Bowser or Luigi. More likely Bowser, if I have to choose one. edit: 1) Now I kind of doubt my answer, since it was just about exactly what I posted on the 'Old SNES game' topic. [ 07-12-2004, 03:13 PM: Message edited by: LS0158 ] |
Well, although you're close on 1) I can't exactly call the answer correct. You're too far in the game, so I'll give you a hint:
It's not about the first encounter with Gados, but the second one. You're wrong on the second question, by the way |
I just loaded someone else's file, I never actually got to the end of the game. I was about 7, so I didn't have much patience. I only got to the dungeon after the one that had some evil double clown thing for a boss. I've got no idea who Gados is. Just figured I might as well guess.
|
Yeah the clownes were a tough nut to crack for me as well. At first I didn't understand what I was supposed to do, but in the end I just kicked the snot out of them. If no one answers the questions posed, I will come up with some new ones instead.
|
Looks like time for new questions here.

Nightowl2
|
*sigh* I had hoped you guys would be able to answer the questions posed, but alas :(
The answers: 1)The reason why the game wasn't over after you had beaten Gados was because Erim, one of the four gods (Gados was one of them as well) had the power to resurrect any one of the gods. So Gados was resurrected, and the four evil 'gods' sent a man named Idura to kidnap your son. 2) Donkey Kong Jr. is the nasty bugger I was talking about. You can't believe how much I hate that guy (and he actually makes MORE sense than Bowser, because Donkey Kong is the original nemesis of Mario!!) New Questions 1) What was the conflict about that made the Core and the Arm fight in the Total Annahilation? 2) What's the name of the lead character in the 3D fighting game entitled Oni Bonus Question (because question 2) is pretty hard): In the Game Boy version of Mortal Kombat, you had one level where there were two fatalities (finishing moves) possible. One was the character's own fatality, but the other was the level specific one. Which fatal move am I talking about? Answer any of them correctly and you'll get the next questioning round (and please, please answer them already, 'cause I'm running out of ideas!!) [ 07-15-2004, 11:39 AM: Message edited by: Link ] |
