Most painful way to die in the game Thief is: Looking down a burricks mouth with a lit match.

P.S. If you don't know what a burrick is. It's a dino thingy that breathes out poison gas vapors. Now what happens when you light a fire with gas around?

What are other very painful ways to die in other games?

In the "Hidden and Dangerous" game,
1) Get run over by a train.
2) Hit by the bazooka.
3) Close range head shot from the sniper rifle.

Errr..getting your head blown off by a rocket launcher? (Any FPS :D )

Whenever you do all the planning and you think that the plan is perfect... something comes and killes you...

The most painful way to die in ANY game, is when it happens before you had a chance to save the game, and you'll have to do everything you've already accomplished ALL OVER again.

When you fall from a ledge you didn't see. Suddenly you hear that crack sound and the 'RESTART MISSION?' option appears

The most painful way to die in wiz 8: boiling blood: blows you up.

the old school spinal cord ripped out from mortal kombat series. and I like Cervantes in Soul calibur 2 with sticking the two swords through their chest and then ripping them out.

I gotta go with any of the various methods to get yourself killed in any Space Quest game. :grins:

Phantasmagoria: Not getting out of the chair on the stage in time when the husband goes nuts. Pendulum with large half-moon blade meets heat. Splits it like a ripe melon.

Not an RPG, but nonetheless.

UFO Enemy Unknown (AKA X-Com): Getting a terror site mission in the first week. Don't do it and your economy is down the drain. Do it and watch your team of badly armed rookies get mercilessly slaughtered.

...oh yeah, and if by some miracle one of your rookies should survive the ordeal you will still get terrible ratings for all your dead comrades and all the civilians you were unable to save.

I mean, what the hell do you do when three cyberdisks have decided to camp right at the entry ramp.

Most painful way to die during a game?!? Er... lightning strikes the telephone pole outside, earths itself through your computer's modem cable, the monitor explodes sending shards of monitor screen glass into your face and chest, piercing vital organs, etc...

2 words... Vietkong, Spiketraps... OUCH!!!

Illithid brain-munch always got on my nerves. It's just too... personal, y'know?

There is one weapon in Fallout 2 that is especially cruel; some kind of electric shock weapon that incinerates your enemies. All that's left afterwards is a pile of ash.

Finger of Death
Power Word: Kill
Rocket Launcher, splatter mode, point blank in SoF 1
Plasma in the chest while trying to go through a vent shaft in Deus Ex
Sniper rifle in the back of the head, any game
Babality in Mortal Kombat 3
THE LIST GOES ON...
...AND ON...
...AND ON...

Hmm...the original question was 'Most painful way to die in a game'. Some of the things posted here means instant death and as such are, probably, not very painful.

The way your see one of your arms lying on the ground before you fall over must be one of the most painful ways to go. ;)

Sacrifice- Being gibbed by a flying cow.

UT2K3- Having the top half of your body removed with a flak cannon.

Playing counterstrike (or any FPS with a sniper rifle) against a camping b*****d with a penchant for groin shots.

Quake III Arena... Getting shot in the stomach by a railgun.

Might and Magic 8 ~ in the first dungeon fail to solve the puzzle and fall down into a monster that got huge open mouth with really big long sharp teeth. [img]tongue.gif[/img]
