Anybody seen this? The game looks tight I played the demo at my local EB games and it's tight! Also in the game there is LINK you know Link from Zelda Spawn and other dudes.

Hivetyrant 08-09-2003 08:57 PM

Yeah i have played a few demo's and it looks awsome, You can chose from heaps of game characters such as heihachi from tekken, link from zelda, and heaps more, if i had an xbox i would defenantly buy it, but i think i need a job first.
The first game was allright with less options but still heaps of gameplay.

GokuZool 08-10-2003 08:57 AM

Soul Calibur 2 is on the top of my "next game to buy" list! Does anyone know when it will released Down Under? I'm going to get it on PS2, even though it's the weakest version, I don't have any other consoles! Plus, the controls are better.

Am anxiously awaiting it for Xbox. Ninja Gaiden is coming, too.

Sythe 08-12-2003 03:49 PM

I heard from a friend that if you purchase the Xbox version the special character you would get is Spawn.

Purchase the Ninetendo you get Link.

Purchase PS2 I dunno.

But I am not sure that any of this is really true. It'd suck if it was.

Yes, it is very true. Each version of SC2 has its own exclusive character.

PS2: Heihachi (Tekken character)
XBOX: Spawn (Comic book character)
GCN: Link (Main character in the Zelda games)

</font>
Aw man that sucks then. The only system I have is an PS2 and I am hardly a fan of Heihachi. :( I was looking foward of playing with Link. But if I get an Xbox from my little sister then Spawn would be ok.

Neither am I!

There's been way too much emphasis being put on the exclusive characters. They don't take anything away from the core gameplay, they're there as a bonus, so don't worry. ;)

I thank you ;)

Gnarf 08-16-2003 06:38 AM

Erhm... me not having lots'a money makes me wonder... d'you think it's better than Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution? Thinking of getting one of them two games...

cloud ff7 38 08-16-2003 03:36 PM

its getting to much hype

SomeGuy 08-18-2003 07:46 PM

I'm getting it. If you get in my way I'll hurt you. It's mine, you can't have it. STAY AWAY. Grrr.... I seriously want this game. Since it has a better, cooler, way awesomer(is that a word? ) then the Link in WW...

D*Ranged 08-18-2003 09:34 PM

My town arcade has one. THere are a few regulars there...Oh, and I don't think I'll get it via console - I don't have any console and I don't plan to buy any of them anytime soon. :D

My fav. is Nightmare.

GokuZool 08-18-2003 09:50 PM

When is it coming out for PS2? The suspense is killing me! :D

redwhitenbrew 08-21-2003 07:39 PM

Can't wait for this. They've been running a Link-centric commercial that looks like so much fun.

I don't know is Australia but in the U.S. the 28th. Sadly I don't have a dime and I can't afford to buy the game. But my birthday is the day after it comes out. On the 29th.

Timber Loftis 08-25-2003 12:26 PM

Coming soon now, right? I can't wait. I'm gonna get one of those special arcade-style joysticks they're selling with it.

I just can't wait to take lil Xianghua and dance around big oafs while banging them on the head with a Spanish broadsword. :D

huh? Isn't Soul Calibur 2 out already? I've played it for a while but I just couldn't like a 3D fighting game. I still prefer a 2D one.

The game is still yet to be released in Europe, America and Australia.

Timber Loftis 08-27-2003 10:55 AM

Let me ask this, what exactly *is* Soul Calibur 2? I mean, the first one was Soul Edge, and then there was Soul Calibur, which is a GREAT game. But, I don't know if I've played Soul Calibur 2. I guess they never made Soul Calibur for anything other than DreamCast.

Timber Loftis 09-02-2003 02:09 PM

Got it. It rocks. If you like fight games, this is the one to get.

Sythe 09-03-2003 08:56 PM

I have it too and it's TIGHT. I usually detest fighting games but I absoloutley love this one. My top five favorites are

Nightmare (His armor and sword are SO COOL)

Raphehael (Rapiers are my favorite weapons and attacks are cool too especially that voice)

Heihachi (I thought he would suck but I was way wrong. His is super cool and the coolest thing is his voice. The voice is from Sarevok from the Baldur's Gate series.)

Taki (She is so fast that I blink every attack she makes.)

Astaroth

It's out!? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...ons/icon38.gif

Which version do both of you have? (PS2, Xbox or GCN?)

SC2 comes out in a few weeks! (Australia, that is.)

Timber Loftis 09-05-2003 06:30 PM

I have the xbox version. Spawn is pretty cool. He has one combo where he hits, tosses the axe behind his back, catches it and hits again. Bling bling.

Xianghua, Tami, and Kilik are now my favorites. I played only Taki for soooo loong. The Taki player gets suckered by her long strings of combos and her over-use of the predator move (flipping around the board). It's hard to break the "glass ceiling" with her and really use her effectively against really good players.

Fast? She's fast. Now Xianghua and Tami are amazingly fast.

Kakero 09-05-2003 07:50 PM

it's already out long long time ago in PS2.

edit : opps I didn't realise I've posted something similar on first page. but nevermind. :D

Sythe 09-05-2003 08:56 PM

You'll love the moment you hold the disc in your hands Goku Zool. But I still wish there was Spawn and Link. But Heihachi is cool. Everytime I play him it makes me want to go out and buy Tekken. And Necrid. I greatly underestimated him. I thought he would be all strength with almost no speed like Astaroth. But boy I was wrong he is faster than spiderman folks. His attacks are left me in awe.

Ralphael and Nightmare are the bomb!

A long long time ago? For how long do you live in japan?

Maybe in Japan, but it is still yet to be released in PAL territories.

The release date for SC2 in Australia is September 2003.

Sythe, is the PS2 version good? I've heard that it suffers from the occassional slowdown and takes longer to load between bouts. Also I've heard the character potraits take longer to load in the Character Select screen.

</font>
Occassional slow down? Nope haven't seen it happen once. It takes quite a while for the character potraits to load usually around 3-7 seconds. May not seem a lot but hey I never said I was a patient person. Between bouts no not long just wait around 2-4 seconds. I haven't played the other versions of the game much so I can't really compare the loading times to the other systems sorry. PS2 version is great as the other versions. Only diffrence is the characters. And besides I recall something YOU said

You'll learn to love Heihachi (HI HACH HE) he may seem to suck at first. But you will soon lean he has the best combos! They are absoloutley devastating.

So no worries. You'll love the game and won't stop playing it till your eyes go sore!

Sincerely

Sythe

P.S. Playstation Two version has the best controller.

P.S.2. Why? Simpily compared to the others it's midsized. Xbox very big and gamecube very very small.

P.S.3. I can't wait until PS3 comes out!!!!

P.S.4. In the game who says this "DIE WORMS!!!"

GokuZool 09-08-2003 05:44 AM

Thanks Sythe!

One more question:

Do the character taunt eachother in Japanese? Or have all the voices been Americanised?

Timber Loftis 09-08-2003 01:17 PM

The Xbox now comes with the standard S Controller, which is MUCH smaller. But, what does it matter -- spring for a $29.99 joystick -- well worth it.

Both there is an option in the game that you can switch between English and Japanese.

I got it two days ago for PS2 I have to say I like it a lot. Weapon master mode is pretty cool, but very frustrating at times. There were a lot of thrown controllers in that mode. Great game. when you unlock the illustration stuff, take a look at it, some of it is amazing. My 4 favorite characters to play with have to be sophia, cervantes, necrid, and astaroth. Nightmare is sweet, but I haven't figured out how to use him effectively yet.

GokuZool 09-12-2003 02:08 AM

Sounds sweet!

I'm going to pick up a copy on September 18 (when it comes out!)

Ok, make that the 28th September. ;)

Got it today and loving it! So many cool characters, moves, combos, arenas.

Been playing it a lot today, but have found that there is only one save file for Weapon Master mode! (Or, have I missed it somewhere? Can you have more than one save file for SC2?)
