What is your favorite three companies that makes the games you like.

I love Looking Glass Studious they made

Thief I and II
System Shock I and II

sadly they are out of buissness :(

Activison

Battlezone
Vampire Masqerade

Namco

Xenosaga
and some others

johnny 08-09-2003 01:53 PM

EA all the way.

Firestormalpha 08-09-2003 02:30 PM

Sythe if Looking Glass is out of business who's making Theif 3?
Also isn't SystemShock 1 a text based game? I've played SS2 and it rocks, even now after so many new developments in the gaming business. EA has some decent titles like the MoH series, but it's mostly sports games, which I'm not too fond of myself. I was partial to Square and Enix prior to their merger, we'll have to wait before I decide on my opinion of Squenix er um thats Square/Enix.

Symbiosis - Maker of Castle Fantasia series.
Capcom - Maker of Street Fighter and Breath of Fire series.
NWC - Maker of Might and Magic series, ( note I say NWC I'll never ever say 3do ).

Sirtech (although pretty much dead)
IDsoftware (quake series)
Bioware- I think we all know
Forgotten realms- See Bioware

Luvian 08-09-2003 09:28 PM

Forgotten Realms is not a game company.

Personally, I really like Working Designs

Xen 08-10-2003 02:27 AM

BioWare
Looking Glass
3DO

Link 08-10-2003 04:29 AM

Bioware - They make brilliant games
Activision - I looked at the record of the games that are currently theirs; it was an impressive list of Top Titles (including Duke Nukem Forever, but hey ;) we can't blaim em for that ;) )

Sir Exxon 08-10-2003 07:04 AM

I can't nail it down to just three. I'm stuck between:
-BioWare
-CapCom
-Nintendo
-EA
-Rare
-Camelot

GokuZool 08-10-2003 09:08 AM

Can't pick one, so here's a small list. ;)

Capcom - Streetfighter Series
SquareEnix - Final Fantasy Series
Rareware - Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Banjo-Kazooie
Nintendo/EAD - Mario!
Konami - Metal Gear Solid Series, Pro Evolution Soccer

Well, what can i say... i always buy the latest EA versions of the NBA, NHL, and NFL games, and EA has simply the best available.

the mighty stamar 08-10-2003 05:41 PM

Black Isle studios of course.

Ok, who can decode who is responsible for all of the infinity engine games.

Bioware made the game engine for strategy game makers. Black Isle licensed them to make baldurs gate with it. Both companies had something to do with baldurs gate 1 and 2.
Black Isle used it itself to make the best (planescape) and worst (icewind dale) IE games.

Black ISle studios made fallout1 and 2. They are the best rpg company they put out excellent products.

They may be the best for some sport titles, but what about the FIFA franchise. I think the last FIFA game which was actually good was FIFA 99'. Eversince the 1999 installment, the FIFA games have focused too much on players names, advertising and player likeliness rather than on gameplay which is by far the most important factor in gaming.

The team that made the Thief went to work with another company because the company they previously worked at (Looking Glass) went out of buisness. They went to work with ION STORM. The Thief Team would be making Thief III with the same graphics engine as Deus Ex II. (Deus Ex is such a marvelous game.)

No it's not. The game came out more than six years ago. The first system shock is like the second except of course the graphics are WAAAAAAYYYYYY diffrent and the enimies are sprites (Like pop up 2D people.) I have the game......somewhere.

Lord Lothar 08-11-2003 01:31 AM

I'd have to go with Blizzard. All of the games they've made are excellent. They have the best storylines and the best multiplayer service (battle.net).

cloud ff7 38 08-11-2003 03:38 PM

Squaresoft because of all the great Final Fantasys they have brought us.

Zarr 08-12-2003 08:51 AM

I like Bioware and Sega.

Bioware ovbiously because of the BG series.

I like Sega for many reasons. The Mega Drive was the best console I ever owned many great games and I played that console for about 6/7 years. I also like alot of Segas games like the Panzer Dragoon series and Shenmue II and Virtua Fighter 4 on my brothers PS2 rocks!

philip 08-12-2003 09:06 AM

bioware and black isle

pritchke 08-12-2003 11:14 AM

Bioware for me due to the fact of consistantly pruducing good games.

I am going to toss out "Sierra" has no one seemed to mention them yet.

With games like:
Ceasar (series)
Half Life (series)
Empire Earth
Gabriel Knight (series)
King's Quest (series)
Zeus

Sierra does have some decent titles. Kings Quest: Mask of Eternity the only one that came out in 3D?
Cloudff738 there is no more Squaresoft (sorry) It is now SquareEnix or Squenix for short. Should prove to be an interesting merger.
Can anyone tell me if there is any appeal to FFX-2 other than Luna and Rikku's skimpy outfits, or is it just a sad rip off of FFX?

Tarjan 08-12-2003 11:59 AM

Core Designe released three of my all-time favorites-- the original Tomb Raider, TR: The Last Revelation, and Project Eden. But I hesitate to list them as a "favorite" simply because they haven't release much else worth mentioning.

I'll have to go with EA as my favorite, simply because over the years they distributed a HUGE number of products I've greatly enjoyed (Bard's Tale series, Deluxe Music Construction Set, Ultimate Wizard, Realms of Impossibility, Adventure Construction Set, Racing Destruction Set, the Madden series, etc, etc, etc.... WAY too many to list.)
