Just been to the official MGS3 site and apparently the next installment of the game is a prequel set in 1961 during the cold war almost 40 years before MGS1 & 2. Ok you cant get a definate age from the mgs3 trailers but I'd say he's about 20 which means he would be about 60 YEARS OLD in MGS 1&2. Well you got to admit he look good for his age lol.

Maybe he doesn`t grow older...

Kakero 07-08-2003 05:23 PM

Maybe he is an advance type of cyborg. just like in Terminator series.

Or maby hes the genetic clone of big boss.. oh wait.. he is :D

big boss was geneticaly created to be the perfect soldier, so i would imagine long/extreme lifespan would be part of that :D

Since snake is pretty much a super soldier, I'd expect his lifespan and aging process to be... Somewhat different from a normal human.

But hey, who cares if the aging is off, as long as Konami keeps the MG series having awesome plots and lots of stealth, i won't care.

Agreed </font>
I second/triple? that! </font>
Ditto I quadrupole that. I knew he must be older than he looks.

A magazine over here gave out a little clue:

[LITTLE CLUE]

The 'Snake' you see is actually Big Boss. Remember, Snake was cloned from him? Well, it explains the time difference.

Arnabas 08-14-2003 12:25 AM

Yeah, "Snake" in the new game is actually a younger Big Boss... In the trailer, you see he has an injured eye, which matches Big Boss...

Zarr 08-14-2003 08:54 AM

Am I the only one that thinks that Metal Gear Solid 2 sucked? Took it back to the shop after a few days as it was so bad, lol. The cutscenes are far too long it's not a game wear you actually *play* it but an interactive movie. Splinter Cell is much better as you feel more involved because you actually *play* it. Also in the Xbox version the controls were very difficult although it would probably be better on a PS2 control pad.

GodzGift 09-09-2003 12:23 AM

i agree w/Zar on MG2...as far as snake aging i guess we have the answer...but maybe he dont age cause of the nano machines they gave the genome soldiers.

SecretMaster 09-09-2003 02:07 AM

I totally disagree with Zar. MGS2 by far was the greatest storywise, and gamewise. It would make sense that you are playing big boss, though it feels a bit odd.

On another note...

THIS WAS POSTED AGES AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bozos of Bones 09-10-2003 03:44 PM

If I can venture a guess?

I don't think Solid is timeless, or lives longer or something, my theory is this:
Solid Snake is not a personal name, it's a codename
Big Boss is Snake's older genetic twin
Big Boss is about 40 years older than Snake
In MGS 3 the Solid Snake codename is given to the one who is later called Big Boss
Big Boss is equal to Solid(today's Solid) if they were of the same age

Plausable?
