I was looking through the Gamefaqs forum just now, when I noticed a reference to the 'wish' spell in Planescpae Torment. I had no idea the spell was even present in the game, but looking on further websites it seems that not only is it there, but there is a legitimate, non cheating way to get it. My question is thus...How?
Thankyou.

Been a while, but I believe it is in one of the warehouses in Curst, after it crosses over into Carceri.

</font>
Yes it is, it's a scroll that you can only use once. If I remember well, you get the choice between getting a weapon, some xp, or money.

NamelessOne 04-17-2003 07:23 PM

In the warehouse in curst after it's slipped onto the chaotic plane. To the left of the door in a pile of trash is a small stash that's easily missed.
The scroll can't be learned like a normal mage spell but can only be used once and only by the namelessone. It can give you money, some spells, stat increase, heals your party completely(a waste), or get a really powerful mege ring.

My memory is hazy, but I think you can get a decent item from that spell.

xanderwatts 04-20-2003 05:22 AM

Thanks. I was just starting to go through the game for the third time, and I reading up to refresh my mind on the basics of what you had to do, when I noticed how many items I was seeing that I just missed the first time through. It's a brilliant game, the pinnacle of roleplaying in my humble opinion, and possibly deserving of it's own forum here on ironworks.

I don't understand why a straight hack n slash with no storyline or creative spark whatsoever such as Icewind Dale gets it's own forum, while PS:T doesn't.

Unfortunately, PS:T did not do as well sales-wise as IWD did. :(

I didn't realise this forum was based on sales. In that case why don't we have a polystyrene forum? Or a fruit juice forum? I hear that they are very good sellers!
We shouldn't be influenced by the so called 'consumer culture' If a game is good, which I think we can agree this one is, then it ought to get it's own forum. There is so much content that it would be valuable just for a place where we could share experiences. I meant, I'd never heard of wish the first time through. I also completely missed a large amount of Ravel's dialogue. This last one was my fault though. I missed the best the best spell in the game (Enoll Eva's...) because I thought the 'Twisted Gear' was a piece of junk and threw away!

Anyway, I've finished the game again, and I'm preparing to lend it to a friend, hoping it'll snare him as well, and I can initiate him into the dark cult of the nameless one.

GIVE PS:T IT'S OWN FORUM!!

Obviously you misunderstood the real picture. If a game sold poorly, less people are actually playing it. Do you expect Ziroc to set up a forum to collect dust do you?

And for that matter, the membership here is free; don't expect the board owner to customize his own board to suit every members' needs. If Ziroc feels the needs to have a new forum, it is entirely by his decision. So, if there are enough topics about PS:T to flood the board, he might give it a consideration. Right now, posts about PS:T are few and far between and if I were in his shoes, I would have not made a seperate board just for PS:T.

Why not give it a trial in the temporary forums area? It's just a thought, sorry.

Morgeruat 05-01-2003 08:57 AM

I think if there were more than 3-4 threads on it in a given month (high estimate) then it might have a chance, unfortunately there isn't all that much of the game that really needs it's own forum, most of the quests are things best figured out on your own (unless you get lost) and if you're curious about things then it's extremely easy to find a good walkthrough. I think it's an excellent game once you get out of the Hive (my first game I put it down for almost a year because I got bored wandering around the hive) that may have contributed to lower sales, or maybe the lack of multiplayer options, but according to a guy from Bioware it sold better than most people think, just not on the scale of bg1/2 or Icewind dale despite having a vastly more original story than either.

Paladin2000 05-01-2003 10:10 AM

True enough. The game did okay but it is not difficult to play because The Nameless One is immortal most of the puzzles aren't very hard to figure out. I finished the game on my first attempt without any hints or cheats.

I want this game but I can't find it anywhere! Does anyone know were I could get it in the UK?

andrewas 05-04-2003 08:33 PM

PC world have the best budget section of any of the high street stores, so its usualy worth looking there. Otherwise, you might find a copy at Game! or Virgin or something. Wouldn't bet on it though, all the specialist games stores are too console-orientated to carry much PC budget stuff these days.

Zarr 05-05-2003 04:33 PM

Hmmm thanks for the suggestions Andrewas. There's a PC World near my house so I'll definetly try there I've tried online and nearly every store I can think of with no luck. Although I haven't tried PC World I just hope they have it... Anyway once again thanks!

I admot, having thought about it, I'm wrong. There is no where near enough posts to justify having it's forum sorry.
