My fav rpg series would have to be Final Fantasy the best ever.
Hmm... not many good ones come in series except Ultima! (IMO of course)
I would say the Baldur's Gate series of games(two games is a series right?).
The Deus Ex series. (Yeah I know it is not a series yet but Deus Ex 2 is around the corner)
Baldur´s Gate, easily.
BALDUR!
And Icewind. And Fallout. M&M is not bad, although I played only VI. Diablo is ... not a RPG ;) |
Baldur´s Gate and Icewind Dale
Baldours get was a good series it was very fun.
Fallout hands down.
Oh yeah, how could I forget about Fallout?
Baldur's Gate is absolutely the best seconed by Fallout, I really hope they'll will make a Fallout III, because Fallout Tactics sucked big time...
Baldurs Gate, followed by Final Fantasy
BALDUR'S GATE. Based on story, gameplay, settings, character personalization, the combat, sounds, visual effects, ....................................
Diablo is Action/RPG. |
Baldurs Gate w/o even thinking
Neuro |
BG saga. MGS was a good game too, it was KINDA an RPG, but tis hard to classify, its in a class of its own.
Final Fantasy and Baldurs Gate
Might and Magic. The Ultimate Might & Magic Archives was the best $39 I ever spent.
i would say final fantasy... but i love baldur's gate more...
Gotta be Final Fantasy series, no wait Zelda, no wait FF......bah theyre both great!
Wizardry series and Might and Magic, without doubt.
Phantasy Star series.
When PS:T2 will come out, I'll be able to say Planescape Torment.
For now, I'll just stick to Baldurs Gate. |
Old time fan of classic crpg's... Wizardry is my favorite series (and I include Wizards and WArriors as a Wizardry since its DW Bradley).
I liked ultima as well! etc |

Edit: And not to forget the Phantasy Star on Sega Genesis was GREAT! :D [ 11-15-2002, 07:33 PM: Message edited by: Megabot ] |
my fav RPG series would have to be the ol' Bard's Tale series. These were the first real CRPG's and in my mind, are still up there amongst the best. ;)
Myst and Everquest
Zelda and Final Fantsy.
BG series (nuff said), Myst and Riven (very cool too) and of course the Thief series (best games ever).
The orginal ad&d forgotten realms games, starting with pool of radiance & I think it finished with pools of darkness.
That Phantasy star series was great too. followed be Baldurs gate then final fantasy. |
Ultima series, Baldur's Gate series and the Elder Scrolls series.
I agree with RBF.
Zelda and Final Fantasy hands down! |
any rpg game that makes u have fun and think at the same time....final fantasy and classic ultimas are my favs....
nr1... has to be the Wizardry series (actually I'm still looking for 1-4), played 5-6-7-8.
nr2... the Elder Scrolls. If you can't tell... I don't really like the very linear games... no baldur's gate's for me. Signed, One sick Psycho |
The Might and Magic series was really good(liked 3 and 4 the best). I liked the Wizardry, which I encountered through Nintendo(1,2 and 5), and Wizardry 8.
Final Fantasy up through VI(III), I didn't care for seven and it got progressively worse from there. Also Dragon Warrior(VII was awesome! first old-school console game I've seen in a long time), Zelda(not N64), and Ultima(not 9) |
Might and Magic. They have weaknesses, occasional mediocrity, but none of the annoying weaknesses that tend to spoil enjoyment on occasion; e.g linearity, stats caps.
Dandad |
Breath of Fire
Final Fantasy |
The Ultimas, followed closely by the BG series.
I've got a copy of PS:T to try out, I may insert it in the list somewhere after I playn it. :D |
