I'm just finishing up Icewind Dale. I've completed Balders Gate II & Throne of Bhaal. I was just wondering what would you guys think my next game should be.

I've read some reviews on Diablo & Pools of Radiance and they both seem very strange. I used to play Dungeons & Dragons back in the 80's so I was trying to stay in that style of play. I just need some hints on the next best games out there. Any opinions/help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Planescape Torment runs the closest to IWD and BGI and II, also a very good game. Pool of Radiance I would NOT recommend!

how about dungeon siege ?

Morgan_Corbesant 05-18-2002 06:19 PM

i, for one vote AGAINST dungeon siege at all costs. i lost my reciept, or i would take it back. so i spent $50 on a game that will only collect dust. i think the graphics are great, but personally, i feel it is a mockery of roleplaying.

diablo 2 perhaps ?

Agreed!

I'd agree to Planscape Torment too, its among the best CRPG's i have ever played (and i have played them all). Wizards&Warriors or Wizardry 8 aren't too bad either. but i'd still recommend PT.

Dungeon Siege really sucks !
Pool of Radiance isn't worth the money too !

Thanks for all the advice.

How come I don't see Planscape Torment on the home page?

Is there another web page that I can read about Planscape Torment?

That's right I'm full of questions tonight. haha

Planescape torment is a very good choice. I also like Betrayal in Antara and Return to Krondor too.

Also if you want more Icewind Action try the Heart of Winter, it's short but very good

i did'nt like the Betrayal in Krondor too much. what point is it to play a book you have already read ? no surprises, no secret... boring.

but, i guess if you're not familiar with R.E.Feist there may be some fun involved.

I wasn't talking about Betrayel at Krondor but Return to Krondor.

Planescape Torment is definitely the best bet, and, I think, the best one of the lot. As far as caring about your character and the story line, it's better than Baldur's Gate I, II. The only problem is that the ending strongly hints at a sequel, thich will probably never happen. And it's a shame, because the story is so good, but leaves so many unanswered questions.

It has it's faults, but the first time you play it, Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magick Obscura is a great game and well worth the play. The combat isn't anywhere near as polished as the infinity engine games, but the story is very good.

I wholeheartedly recommend PS:Torment. It is, in many ways, the way BGI & II should have been (in terms of description and dialogue options, and the depth of storyline.) lo and behold, Torment calls my name at this very moment......seeya
