Any ideas where Mamaca is? According to the journal entry its west of Red Mountain. Im starting out from Alduran searching for the place but cant find it!

Can someone point me the the right direction?

Mamaea - Sanctum of Awakening? Head west out of Ald-Ruhn until you're out of the ashlands. There's a ridge running north that serves as a barrier between the ashlands and West Gash regions. Follow this north (on the west gash side) until you reach a Daedric ruin (Dushariran) and then head directly west. It's only a short walk from the ruin.

Anything special in that cave btw ?

Radek 08-30-2006 04:58 AM

IIRC, one good dagger. Or is it short sword? I can't remember right now

There's an Ash Vampire in there somewhere but i forget which one he is. And the Dagger of Haynakmetsumfin.

I have to admit that dungeon was really something else. I've played Morrowind quite a few times now, but this is the first time i visited that dungeon, and i'm quite sure i passed it a lot of times. I usually skip the ancestral tombs, because there's never much of value in them, but this one was special. It even looked unfamiliar with all those sandy passages instead of the usual rocky ones. The dagger i picked up in the end wasn't all that, but it helps completing my collection of special items. Btw...there was also a nice Daedric helmet inthere, just for the ones who might take an interest in such items.

Err...johnny, That particular dungeon is part of the main quest. You've never completed the main quest before in your previous games?

Of course i have, but i never visited every single dungeon on the map. I guess only 50 or 60% of them.

johnny 09-02-2006 01:34 AM

Oh...and btw....it's NOT part of the mainquest. Prove me wrong if you can.

You will visit that place to kill the 6th ash vampire during your main quest.

Sever 09-02-2006 02:38 AM

As part of your instructrions from Vivec, it is recommended to kill all the Dagoths and retrieve their artifacts, but it's not essential to the MQ. Who listens to Vivec anyway?..

Dragonshadow 09-02-2006 05:40 AM

I do not remember this place. 0.o There were six ash vamps?

Kakero 09-02-2006 09:13 AM

There's 7 ash vampire all together. Killing them all is optional. But for rp sake just go ahead and kick their butt.

johnny 09-02-2006 07:59 PM

Well, it's not vital for completing the mainquest. If i recall correctly, Vivec ADVISES you to deal with the ash vampires before heading to Dagoth Uhr, but it's not a must. Besides, i was assuming that all of them were spread out over Red Mountain, and i've cleared that entire region when i went on some quests for the temple. As some sort of bonus for my own amusement, this time i also cleared out all three major vampireclan bases, which is also something i'd never done before. No matter how many times i play Morrowind, i find something new every time.
