Well Bethesda pulled a fast one on us eh? Several weeks ago there were a bunch of leaked screenshots that were horribly pixelated (looked nothing like Oblivion graphics). So they pull a fast one on us and use those screenshots, only up to par with the normal screenshots. And even better, they replaced the man in ebony armor and a spear with daedric armor and a better character page shot. And man, the town that the Argonian is in looks fantastic! And we finally see a portal to Oblivion in the middle of a forest??? |
I am terrified of the system specs. Any word yet?

OK, not exactly, but damn! :D |
I suspected as much. Looks like my PCX system is the only one that can run it. The screens are amazing btw.

Hopefully, I'll run the game just fine with my ATI Mobility Radeon X700 with 128 VRAM.

*wipes brow* That's ok then. Was getting worried for a minute there. The screenies look like ones taken from the recently leaked demo clips though?

Well, I may need to upgrade my RAM, even though I just bought my pooter.....*sigh* is it possible to upgrade RAM on a laptop?
|
Don't see why not. Though it'd probably cost more than desktop RAM.
|
OOh.. God! I'm gonna "poop" myself :(
|
RAM is one of the few things you can upgrade on a laptop.

I've been saving since the day Oblivion was announced.
I'm aiming to buy a top notch SLI system, 64bit processor, and a couple gigs of ram. If you had tried to convince me a year ago that i was going to spend a few grand on a PC, I woulda laughed at you (graphics never were that big a deal to me). Oblivion, is the first game I want to play with the max graphic settings. [ 11-03-2005, 05:05 PM: Message edited by: cav_again ] |
Well, I bit the bullet and spent £570 on a new machine with an Athlon 64-bit 3200+ processor. I'll need to buy another graphics card (it shipped with a Radeon Xpress 200 Series) and upgrade the 512MB RAM, but I'm satisfied that by release I'll have a good enough setup to play Oblivion.
I am now completely, miserably broke. Your move, Bethesda. :D |
