Does anybody know the stats for Imoen's belt like what protection does it provide? Thanks for your replies.
|
It's an item, made so that she cannot die, since this would mess up the storyline.
I'm not sure, but IIRC it sets your minimal HP to 1 (you cant die) And makes you immune to all spells which could remove you from the game. ( flesh to stone, desintigrate, imprisonment etc.) |
So what happens if she gets down too one health? Wouldn't this make her a little too powerful? Does she still have it after you rescue her?
|
She only has the belt, when in Irenicus dungeon. When she gets down to 1 hp, she leaves the party.
When you rescue her, she doesnt have the belt anymore, or it doesnt have the properties anymore .. i cant recall exactly |
When you rescue her, she doesnt have ANYTHING, JI is through with her, so he just throws her away.
|
But it does make you wonder How??? In the item description it goes on about how she has been unable to remove it since she was a child and it wont budge to all her theif skills or her Magic abilities. So how exactly did it just disapear?? My geuss is it has something to do with her soul being sucked out of her.
|
It might be because Irenicus is a much more powerfull mage than her. If he can remoe a soul from a body I think he can remove a belt from someone.
Or, it might be because the devs said so. ;) |
If you cntr q that elf queen later in the game she has it too, for game purposes obviously. Anyone ever try to dual class jon irenicus?
|
Since she was a child? Nono, this is what is says:
"Imoen does not know when or how she acquired this belt, and despite all of her efforts and magic it cannot be removed or unbuckled." Irenicus showed her many dark things so her innocent childish attitude would fade, and let her elease the power of her father (no spoiler, right?). He let her see what he did to Dynaheir, Khalid, and probally other slaves he had captured. But he also did things to her, she mentions knives, and has plenty of scars, remember? Well, since the thing Irenicus desired wouldn't be possible to give to his sister if Imoen died, he had to prevent her from doing so in his experients. SO he gave her the belt. |
Lots of the main characters of the game are immune to all things that would kill them... but alot of them dont have the belt.... so mayb it isnt the belt that stops them from deing...

saemon havarian is good. as is a demi lich (although wtf is up with the spells). has anyone else never had imoen in their party? maybe it's just me... |
Maybe the belt is on too tight
|
Irenicus put the belt on Imoen so he can experiment on her without killing her!
|
Does Imoen not have this belt in BG1? I thought she did although it could be me not remembereing rightly (as I have never had her in any group in any of the BG games for longer then about 3 days).

I read an online interview from one of the game developers that the reason the belt is there, in the beginning of the game, was to keep her alive for the sake of the storyline (probably that scene out of the prison tunnel). Afterwards, the belt is no longer there when you reunite with Imoen. I guess then she's not a factor in the game anymore. [ 03-02-2002: Message edited by: Kaneida ]</p> |

Irenicus shouldn't think "Hmm, I give her this belt so her sibbling have a reason to hunt me down IF I would be attacked by shadowthieves and captured by the cowled ones after the battle" |
Have you ever noticed how it looks exactly the same as the Girdle of Gender!?! Try cluaconsoleing it in, it is " belt05 "
