hello!!!!!!!!
I've got this treasury report, I think I bought or nicked it from the Hlaalu treasury guy in Vivec. It's in some sort of code - do I need to crack it? Will it help me with anything?

Kakero 03-25-2004 01:38 AM

It doesn't seem to do anything. no quest whatsoever AFAIK.

johnny 03-25-2004 08:11 AM

Forget the report, see to it that you get into the treasure vaults itself.

Niadh 03-25-2004 02:13 PM

There are two different types of treasury report. There are the ones in the vault that only say there are items inside. The other ones are for quests relating to a house, and you usually get a few hundred gold for delivery of them.

Felix The Assassin 03-28-2004 11:42 AM

Don't toss it off yet. I recall a dark sided quest. Either from Gentlemen Jim, or the Morang Tong that will put it to use.

Mellagar 04-23-2004 01:57 AM

I always see to it to lighten the load somewhat of the house vaults. However I know of a way to gain more great weapons and sell for top price than dungeon crawling or stealing into vaults. I made myself 2.1 million in gold, and I gathered a few top notch weapons too. But I can't say what the trick is......unless someone knows why I should?

Mellagar 04-23-2004 01:58 AM

I didn't use the console.....that's just weak and wimpy.

promethius9594 04-23-2004 04:46 AM

um, okay, how'd you do it? you bought something from someone who would sell cheap and sold high, then did it again and again? what?

Bozos of Bones 04-23-2004 01:17 PM

I thing he repeadetly stole off a daedric shrine so he got himself 500 dadedric/dwemer/ebony weapons to sell.

promethius9594 04-23-2004 04:03 PM

but how would you repeatedly steal from it, i've only found that one item summons a daedra lord and that once that item is picked up you can't summon another.

Mellagar 04-23-2004 09:01 PM

Here's how. Purchase a Golden Saint and or dremora summoning spell from a mage in the tower at Tel Branora. Make certain your conjuration ability is at least up to 50 to 60 for efficiency. Now head to Balmora and purchase the summon bound weapon spell that pertains to you. Longsword, mace, whatever. Buy potions, or spells, anything to boost your strength up to at least 70, or very high sixties, but low seventies preferred. Go to a spellmaker at one of the mage guilds and create a new Summon Golden Saint or dremora spell....one that has a duration of 12 to 15 seconds. The mana required is less and there's a better chance of a successful cast. You could use a dremora summon spell but saints have better stuff and can also be trapped in gem stones for enchanting...nice huh. You can sell those enchanted gems to places for BIG money. Anyhow, summon your bound weapon FIRST, then use the new spell to summon the saint or dremora. This is where your strength comes into play. If high enough, the first hit will knock the creature to their knees allowing for a fast kill. When the body hits the floor QUICKLY click on the saint or dremora before they disappear. You will see the shield and weapon, if golden saint, just weapons if a dremora. IMPORTANT!! If the price of the weapon or shield reads 65123345657547 then DO NOT pick it up, let the body disappear. If you take the goods the game will crash, but if the price reads correct, i.e. a glass longsword going for 15000, then its clean and you can take it. Use dremora summoning for daedric weapons as well. Such as a katana, dai katana, two handed battle axe, spear, hand axe, broadsword, mace, or longsword. Usually you'll get daedric or ebony, both sell well.

There you have it. Money making at its sweetest. This process will boost up your weapon skill, and your armor if you're hit, as well as your conjuration ability. Level up, make money and afford ridiculous amounts of training. Become a level 30 or 40 before you even start the main quest. You have to click the remains fast or they'll disappear. It takes some practice but worth the attempt. Also...if you're lucky enough, as I was, you can get a daedric tower shield off of the golden saint. After twenty minutes of this, in real time, I had a PILE of ebony glass and daedric goods.

promethius9594 04-24-2004 04:37 PM

oh, so my ring of summon golden saint (which calls a golden saint for 43 seconds and works every time) will probably be okay for this type of thing.

come to think of it, i dont think i really need this trick. i was very curious however... but having more than two million septims just doesnt seem THAT useful to me anymore. besides, i've enchanted just about as much stuff as i can carry. now that my heavy armor skill is better, i may have to look at robbing tel fyr for its daedric armor and reenchanting all of that too.

Mellagar 04-24-2004 10:20 PM

The trick is good for characters starting out, and I always recommend people to kill Fyr and take his armor. Dirty old funky tube baby maker...old guy....freak.

promethius9594 04-25-2004 12:27 AM

A note, when he says the trick is good for new characters, he isnt talking about robbing tel fyr.

in fact, dont kill fyr until after you've played his quest portion (you'll know what i mean when you come to it) otherwise you cant win the game.

there is, however, a way to steal it from him if you happen to be a powerful mage... (which im not).

Cienden 04-25-2004 01:11 AM

What? Armor disintigration spells?

Kakero 04-25-2004 01:50 AM

How do you take something that someone have worn it?

promethius9594 04-25-2004 03:40 AM

paralyze scroll:

disintegrate armor, disentegrate armor disintegrate armor.

damage attribute strength, damage attribute strength, damage attribute strength.

repeat as necessary until he is no longer wearing the armor (it will all come off) then just pickpocket him while he remains paralyzed, but you have to be exceedingly fast and have long time durations for the spells above. i was thinking of doing it with scrolls, since i can afford to enchant as many of those as i need. when youre done, keep him paralyzed, calm person him several times, then charm him to make him like you again and he won't fight you after that.

TA DA!!! free daedric armor (well, almost). be warned though, if you dont paralyze him he calls all sort of daedra to assist him, and since he doesnt die when you do eventually paralyze him, they stay and are a major factor limiting your timeframe to keep him paralyzed (have to kill daedra, then go back to work).

I say kill him, and raid the whole tower. But that's just my idea of getting a paid due.

promethius9594 04-25-2004 04:21 PM

heh, you dont have to kill him to raid the whole tower. in fact the only thing you have to do him any harm to get stuff is to get his armor.

my sneak skill is high enough that i stole things in the chests and on the shelves of his own room.

TIP: if you want to steal something from someone in the same room, move far away from them, then move close to them and quickly get into a position so that when they greet you they are facing away from the item you want to plunder. now move around them and they will be facing away from you. watch their head to make sure they dont look back over their shoulder just as you grab the item (you'll see a corresponding flicker of your sneaking icon if your sneak skill isnt high enough).

Mellagar 04-25-2004 07:54 PM

But they can't turn their head to see you if you cut it off first. (Wink wink nudge nudge) Eh? Huh? Yeah...you know I'm in the right.

yeah, but you cant always kill EVERYTHING mellagar, i was stealing from people like crassius long before i didnt need him anymore.

i mean stealing from quest givers and stuff, you dont have to be sly if you dont need the guy, but the stuff from people you need is better anyway.
