Hey guys I just bought the game yesterday. And the game is so BEAUTIFUL!!
And so big! This has been the RPG's of my dreams. I look what's around me more than doing buissness. Anyway this is a very noobish question. How do you equip and ready magic? P.S. I snuck up behind this giant dinosaur thing. I only saw it's back and stabbed it's arse with my little dagger. (The only weapon I have) The beast turned around and had a BIG MOUTH! I fought it and .......well you know. |
You mean the Silt Strider ? That's not a dangerous animal, it's some kind of cab, it will take you anywhere you wanna go IF that location has a Silt Strider stop.
Press "R" for casting a spell. You have to select which spell or scroll you want to use first. You know how that works, don't ya ? |
Johnny siltstrider don't attack. And they look more like giant bugs than dinosaurs. Sythe is either refering to a guar, or a nixhound.
|
I know Silt Striders don't attack, that's why i was a little surprised. :D

I've customized all my controls, so I don't know what the 'normal' keystrokes are to cast a spell, but what you need to do is open your inventory screen, and select a spell, scroll, or enchanted item, then go back to play mode.
In the lower left corner of the screen, you'll see two small boxes. The left one reprsents your currently equipped weapon, the right is your currently loaded magic. One key or the other will switch you from weapon to magic mode: in magic, your hands will appear on the screen. Click whatever button 'uses' your weapon, and the spell is cast. Something worth knowing: you can go to your inventory screen any time during combat, pick up a 'restore health' potion from your inventory, and drop it on your character's pic, and go back to the game. Healing scrolls have to be 'cast' like any other spell, but healing potions can be consumed instantly without disrupting your attack: this will come in handy at some point! Oh, and you can drag the edges of your character portrait, map, attribute and spell lists in the inventory to make them larger, which made the game much more enjoyable for me. Oru |
Okay thanks you guys I'll try that.

Most likely a guar. Kagouti are generally found up around Pelagiad, forget the name of that region, I think Ascadian Isles. Alits too, and guars are the only monster with a mouth that big...
|
I thought the Siltstrider was the Yellow Cab in this game lol :D
|
I thought Siltstrider are the mutated cousins of breeding netch.

However, the noises made by both species are quite different, if that has any relevance. |
Thanks guys much help appreciated! Man this game is SO COOL!!
I have another problem. I went into this cave shrine with a lot of candles. I stumbled upon a greater Bonewalker. Casted some magic on me. I killed the beast but it reduced my strength and endurance to zero. How long is the duration going to last? |
you can go to temple and press the altar to remove those effect.
|
Yes I suppose. But since I have zero strength I can't move. Unless I take off ALL my stuff. I haven't had the chance to fully explore the area. And I'm afraid I might stumble upon another foe. But I'll take the risk anyway. Thanks Kakero.
|
then I suggest you go buy restore strength spell ( and other restore attribute spell as well ). you may find them in temple in balmora or the fort near balmora. this spell may come in handy when in future you encounter the same problem.
|
Wait a few minutes. The effects should wear off.

Most of the undead monster spells are drain attribute spells which wear off after some time. There's also damage attribute which can only be fixed with the restore attribute items. There is a bug where if you have a stat boosted by an item and you get drained or damaged, the attribut will only restore to 100 (or whatever your natural max may be). When you un-equip the item you end up with remaining damage and have to restore all over again.
|
If I remember correctly, some of those spell never wear off. had to use the restore attribute spell to cancel off the effect.
|
It would be a good time to use an Almsvii or divine intervention spell or scroll, if you have them. Teleport directly to the altar before dropping your gear...
If you use the 'corprus' cheat to boost your base strength past 100, I don't think you can ever restore the number to what it was before the attack-- won't go past the magic 100. If you don't take off any strength [or other attribute] boosting gear, the restore attribute won't work: any 'artificial' boosts must be removed... A belt or other object enchanted to restore a few points to EVERY attribute is a nice thing to have: wouldn't be without mine... Oru |
