Maybe you should clean it.

Dragon-Killer 02-27-2002 09:06 AM

no! there is nothing I can do to fix it cause mi little brother throw it and it brokes in millions of pieces :(

Barlik Longbeard 02-27-2002 09:32 AM

Perhaps you should buy the game again. Use the old CDs as Beer Mats.

Noober 02-27-2002 09:35 AM

I can't imagine however hard you "Throw" a CD, that it would break. I mean I've even had trouble snapping one in half by bending it!

Xenturi 02-27-2002 09:49 AM

funny my cd 3 is also broken, just get someone else to install a FULL version and you will not need cd 3 to play!! or get someone to burn their cd 3 for you. (Yet I have never heard anyone succeeding in burning the BG2 cd's

Oh yes. You can burn BG2 CDs.

Install FULL version as Xenturi just wrote.

I burned a set of the CDs and I only play off of the burned ones. I went through two copies of CD-2 before buying ToB; I'm on my 2nd copy of the ToB cd. I probably go through more than average because I play BG2/ToB on my laptop, so the CD is more often taken out in a hostile environment than it would be if the computer were at home.

Anyway, it's good to have original CDs stored somewhere safe!

How much is BG2 selling for now? Major discount ($10) range yet?

I bought my BG2 on ebay. I think I paid less then $15.00 when I got it about 5 months ago. It was still shrink wrapped.

Jan,

What app did you use to burn the CD's? I have been unable with Adaptec or HotBurn.

Thanks,

UL.I.SI,

If you have Linux, or have a friend with Linux, use 'xcdroast' to do the job. All BG2-SoA CDs will be fully useable: you can run from them and install from them. The ToB CD seems to have either a flaw or a copy protection scheme, as I can run from the copy but not install from it. Oh well, it's not such a hardship ... I don't reinstall that often.

I used Nero Buring Rom.

I hate it, would normaly use something more sophisticated, but BG2 disc are practicaly unprotected and BlindSuite went out of its evaluation period just before I made the burn.

ToB CDs _are_ protected - by laserlock - which can be bypassed, but can give trouble if making second generation copies (not that theres any legal reason to do that anyway)

The trouble might be that your using the default settings - try turning on things like ignore illegal ToC and stuff. www.gamecopyworld.com has information on how to copy cds.

There are no protection schemes that can keep a disc secure if you determined enough.

Page 256 of the user manual states you can get replacement software at the address listed on page 257 and five bucks

Or you can call 949.553.6678. Don’t know if the number is still good or not. Good luck.
