Kakero 05-09-2003 10:57 PM

PufferFish 05-09-2003 11:22 PM

Well, there are others who can help you with the bounty.

Kakero 05-10-2003 02:02 AM

You'll never need them if you didn't commit any crime.

What can i say ? Crime is my middle name. :D

PufferFish 05-10-2003 11:41 AM

hey, im i criminal, i usually keep a bounty of 5 just so when i talk to gaurds i can resist arrest and then kill them, works great for getting more armor for more money, especially with Ordinators

Ever heard about taunting? Much easier, and you won't be feared by NPCs.

Kakero 05-10-2003 04:50 PM

or cast frenzy humanoid at them, it works the same.

I reckon if you need that much money that you're concocting schemes to kill guards for money... you're not looting enough dungeons

PufferFish 05-10-2003 06:43 PM

Yea, ive got enough ebony and all, but nobody but the Creeper had that kind of moeny, and im not that desperate for cash anymore, i dont need it for anything but enchanting really

Trouble is I've become somewhat scared of the entire prospect of looting dungeons. I don't fear being on the reciving end of a good drubbing, rather that I'll be asked to go to a place again on a quest that I've already looted - and killed the person I was supposed to help/talk to etc.

...And I started out rushing down any moody looking hole in the ground I could find. Oh well...

Well that's true! But I've found that it is very unusual if you get a quest to go talk to someone, that they will attack you - anyone in a dungeon that you need to talk to won't attack you on sight if you don't have the quest yet. Also there are very few occasions that you will get a quest to go find someone in a dungeon - the vast majority you actually have to kill someone, and if you kill them early, the game remembers and when you get the quest, the person goes, 'oh he's already dead, good job'. Now occasionally you have to find items in dungeons, it's true. But like most games, items you have to find have specific names. If you find a generic ebony shortsword or something, then you can be reasonably confident that no one will be asking you to find that specific ebony shortsword from that specific location. So if you go unsolicited in a dungeon, and find a special named object, probably best to put it in your house just in case, but you certainly find enough generic weapons/armour, plus potions, scrolls, gems and so on that you can sell. Now if you start killing people in houses or towers - then you might have a bit of trouble ;)

Hmmm, good point. I guess you can become a bit too conservative about the whole process. As all players do, you're bound to run into the odd NPC that you've already dealt with. I couldn't understand who the Temple was asking me to cure of Swamp Fever, and then tell me that I'd already done it - forgetting about the random woman running around Tel Branora(?) that I'd cured previously just because I could.

Perhaps I'll go back to a little more recklessness. Thanks Aelia! Vvardenfell has just become a more dangerous place again...Now all I have to do is get into and out of the wretched sewers in Mournhold without crashing. Bah!

PufferFish 05-11-2003 10:32 PM

ive had that happen quite a few times, ive even had it where ive gone to a guild guide and ive already done 2 or 3 missions in a row for them, the only bad one is for the Morag Tong, if you kill the people before the writ is given then you dont get the "honor" for the kill, and therefore cannot be advanced for it.
