I just killed a Hunger and trapped its soul, but to my surprise i was rewarded with two souls. I cast arrow of magic pinning to start the fight (the same way i normally would for a daedra) and then killed it with the 'souldrinker' blade. (Thus creating two soul trap effects from two different sources on the same creature.) Is this a known exploit or a one off bug?

Kakero 04-22-2003 10:41 AM

have you patch your game? in unpatch game I can keep on soul trapping a dead golden saint.

johnny 04-22-2003 10:42 AM

You mean two souls in one gem ? That's cool, will it have double value when you use it to enchant items ? If that's so, that's one bug i wouldn't mind bumping into. :D

B_part 04-23-2003 05:50 AM

Hmmm... maybe it was the same soul in two different gems, johnny... wouldn't mind stumbling into this bug as well. :D

HammerHead 04-23-2003 12:58 PM

I tried casting soultrap on a golden saint twice, first a scroll and then the spell and guess what, 2 soul gems with 1 soul each. :D
I guess it only works if the spell comes from 2 different sources, but I haven't tried.

And my game is patched.

good thing... I was looking for some golden saint souls... I guess I found them.
Thanks Hammerhead! :D

My game is patched and i've tried this several times on numerous baddies. As long as the spell comes from different sources, and you have gems to accomodate them, you can trap the same soul multiple times.

This is one exploit i won't be taking advantage of. :(

Same soul, two gems. No bonus (or penalty) to enchanting or soul value.

Bah, when I need a good soul I just go ascended sleeper hunting near the volcano.
It's a dangerous task, but the rewards are worth it.

Kakero 04-24-2003 05:03 PM

cool, thats good to know.

Can't do that. I need specifically golden saint souls for a mod, and I have giants installed, which converts all the leveled golden saints into something much bigger. I guess I will exploit the bug.

Kakero 04-25-2003 07:13 AM

isn't monsters from giants mod are made from npc and npc don't have souls in them?

B_part 04-25-2003 11:56 AM

I don't know. Anyway no souls in them. Too bad, a titan should have a kick a$$ enchanting power. Not that you need it, no item could take it, but it would be fine to show off a titan soul to your friends.

Kakero 04-25-2003 04:33 PM

I just check, monsters from giants mods are made from npc.

"One fine day in the middle of the night, two dead boys got up to fight,
Back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other.
The deaf policeman heard the noise, and came and shot those two dead boys.
If you don't believe this joke is true, ask the blind man, he saw it too!"

LoL I like it!

Kakero 04-26-2003 06:39 PM

I'm using mods that have a couple of vendors that sell soul related gear so i'm never short on them. If you have the xbox version, then i believe the best source of grand gems is the levelled, random treasure found mainly (but not exclusively) in smuggler caves. Having a higher luck attribute will also increase the chances of finding them.

BTW - Has anyone tested this exploit with Azura's Star?

Rageheart 04-29-2003 05:16 PM

IT WORKS! I tried it on a summoned golden saint and i got two of them! Sweet!

Kakero 04-29-2003 05:49 PM

yes, looks like you ought to have different soucres of spell to make it work. now i'm trying to use multiple sources of spell.

Kakero 04-29-2003 05:51 PM

yes, I've just tested it too. looks like you ought to have different soucres of spell to make it work. now i'm trying to use multiple sources of spell.

B_part 04-30-2003 05:08 AM

Double post! spammer! :D

Kakero 04-30-2003 06:10 AM

oh, sorry about that. i didn't realise it until now. too bad i can't delete the first one because of "the time in which you may edit your message has elapsed".
