MAIN SKILLS:
Long Blade Destruction Light Armor Athletics Conjuntion MINOR SKILLS: Acrobatics Speechcraft Enchant Mysticism Restoration SIGN: The Lady I want a character who favors in-the-face combat, stealing anything that isn't bolted down, the ability to heal himself, using soul gems, and can get out of trouble. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |
thas a nice combo yous got there but dont bother with restoration unless your very magic based. i just usually make sure i have enough potions, dont want to be whipping out your spellcasting hands in the middle of a fight eh?
if yeh want to steal stuff you want SECURITY as a skill. i dont use SNEAK that much,(i'm an assassin) i just made myself a ring of 100% chameleon for 12 seconds, this usually allows me to nick anything i find.(try and sneak while doing it tho, it doesnt take much as you are completely invisible) so just replace restoration with security, but you got a nice charcter there. |
Thanks for the reply, I forgot to mention the race issue. I don't really know the best race to pick. Dark Elf?
|
Well, it depends... what's his name ? :D
|
i'm a khajiit because its different, but bear in mind, if you are a beast race you cant wear full helms or boots. oh, and you jump stupid.
a breton or dark elf would be your best bets with those skills. |
Sounds good. I'd replace Sneak with Security. Also there are some skills that are easy to raise with practice/training - for me, those are sneak, acrobatics and atheletics. I never put any of those in my major/minor skills. You can raise your athletics skill simply by toggling the Caps Lock and running everywhere.
OTOH, I always make armorer a misc. skill, because it's really inconvenient if you're in the middle of a dungeon getting the crap beaten out of your armor, and you end up fighting in your street clothes because you can't repair it. The other skill that's very valuable is block (if you're not using two-handed weapons). I'd say a Breton would be your best bet. Hm. I have just recently joined these dark forums of death so please welcome me.
That aside... I think that would be quite a nice character... but I would remove the acrobatics. You can easily increase the acrobatics as Rhea said, so the only reason should be to have an easy way to increase your strength. The atheltics is fair enough I think but could go as a secondary skill. |
Welcome, Slayer!
I say don`t worry about skills and leveling and whatnot. It might be hard in the beginning of the game but about midway you can pay for alot of training and with a patched game that translates into level ups as well. Towards the end of the game it doesn`t really matter what you started out as because you`ll be an uber-player anyway. So just worry about making it through the beginning of the game for now. Maxkillen, don't put in acrobatics, its really easy to get up. For me, in all my games by level 12 I'm at 100 acrobatics already. But I'd go with armorer in there. Welcome to IW

try changing your Acrobatic with Sneak, sneak is kinda important and you'll need high sneak to solve a few quest.
also try chaning your sign. while the lady give a huge bonus 20 points to endurance and personality at the beginning. that advantage quickly lose it when you start leveling up. try using a sign that give bonus magicka multiplier to your Intellinngece. like The Apperentice for example. |
Erhemh... what attributes are you gonna choose?
|
Oh and don't do conjuration, very hard to level up sometimes unless you continuosly do it. It takes a whole lotta magic
|
that's why I say have a sign that give bonus magicka multiplier to your inteligence. thus you'll have more magicka.
|
I beg to differ on the conjuration attribute, whenever i need to fight a strong character, bring a bunch of restore magicka potions and fill the room with conjurred entities. I get to where he can see me and starts to chase then i back up or round a corner then go psycho with the conjuration. It does take an insanely high skill to conjure up good creatures, but what i did in my early levels is enchants about 4 or 5 items with a wimpy creature and use them all at the same time, they are overwhlemed and usually cant get to you, and my skill gradually went up, then i found the master trainer. you can also levitate yourself and conjure creatures and if they cant levitate, use arrows, or missile spells, its a slaughter no matter what level you are at.

there's another bad thing with conjuration, you can't conjure a summon in a town or the guards will attck you.

The manual says so, but they never mind me summoning.

yes, I have done it by summoning a golden saint and every guard attack me.

Well, scrolls are bugged then... well, not a bug which desperately needs to be fixed

not only scrol but spells too. just ckeck you spell description and see what it says.

If you have a high Int and alchemy scores, you could probably make a restore magicka potion. I don't know what ingredients that would take...
Potions can be very profitable. I am still near Seyda Neen trying to clear out the caves and tombs, and I often take all the Luminous russoula and Violet corpinius I can find. I then make a poison potion, worth 22-45 gold, depending on what equipment you are using. Alchemy equipment is kind of heavy, though. And you fail at making potions very often, even with a high alchemy skill. Many potions are useful though. I saved my life by making a "restore health" potion, and fighting any hand-to-hand enemies is a lot easier with a "restore fatigue" potion. |
Since you favor light armor, I'd suggest the best combination early on in the game would be= (Glass: tower shield, bracers, helm, padrons, and breeches) Then the boots of the apostle (found below stronghold Berandus) then the cuirass of the saviors hide (found in Tel Fyr SW of Sadrith Mora). You may have trouble getting the saviors hide (it's in a lock level 100 closet at the top of the tower of Tel Fyr) so you can use the skeleton key to open it with. The skeleton key is found on Gentlemen Jim Stacy leader of the thieves guild in Jabasha's Rare books in Vivec. If you decide to kill him for it, I'd suggest waiting to join the thieves guild until after you do so.
