Does the city of Vivec strike anyone else as not entirely convincing? I mean where are the street vendors? The pedestrians? The streets? Some metropolis! And the whole canton thing.. the idea isn`t so bad but the implimentation kind of sucks. How is the infrastructure supposed to work in that place? I`d hate to have to drag any carts up those two huge ramps in the foreign canton. Bah!

you haven't been to the treasure vaults aren't you?
check the topic " I found paradise but paradise won't let me in ". |
I agree. Vivec was my least favorite town to go to. The whiskey tasted like Guar piss and there wasn't a topless bar to be found. Why Suran gets my vote. Better whiskey and at least one topless bar for my Nord to kick back and relax after a day of adventuring and pilaging. Gotta love the developers of this game for having a good sense of humor. I'm just wondering if I can get one of these chicks shaking it for my drunken pleasure into the back room? I know I'm sick. But you guys know you've thought of it too (and I'm sure tried) so cut me some slack.

You gotta be kidding? lol. Playing it on the Xbox because the old comp runs it like a slide show. Time to get that Alienware I've been looking at. I'm missing out on all the good stuff.

At one point in time I was going to rebuild the entire city of Vivec but I`m pretty lazy lol.. and I still haven`t beaten the main quest yet (I`ve had this game for months!) :D
It would probably entail the reworking of alot of dialog and quests along with just the art and city layout. I wondered if anyone else had similar ideas..? I was thinking that the basic city structure could be the same except the cantons could be hollowed out and built as mostly in the exterior cell of instead of all those interior cells. |
I found a mod called 'Adventurer`s NPCs' that really help with the aesthetics of Vivec. It isn`t so bad when it isn`t so lifeless and desolate lol. This mod adds lots of new, generic npcs all over the place. I went for the B version because I`m already having problems with those damn Tribunal assassins and I don`t need friggin` vampires and bandits on top of that.
You can get the mod here - http://www.m0use.net/~adam/ Sorry for you Xbox folks. :D |
bear in mind if you had the realistic thousands of people running around on there daily business in vivec your graphics card would scream and refuse to play games for a month

yeah those sick modders and their mods. Im thankful i have the xbox version. Those sick modders........

ha you know you want the pc version and mods, admit it to yourself

The only good thing about Vivec is that once you've seen one Canton, you've seen them all.
There's a Plaza up top and separate from everything else, an upper and lower waistworks, a Canalworks and an Underworks. I think the disappointing thing about Vivec is that there seems to be less life there than in the towns and cities. OTOH, there are always those tasty vaults. :D I just LOVE robbing the treasuries. [ 01-21-2003, 12:34 PM: Message edited by: Rhea ] |
wouldn't it be nice if they released Tribunal on the xbox and it was also enabled for xbox live so we could download mods too... oh, that would be so nice

An unrelated rant - why would *anyone* get a console? The last one I had was a Sega Genesis when I was about 12 or so. The games were ok but now you can download them online (and most newer ones too I`m sure). One good thing for consoles was that the games were pretty stable as there was only one standard hardware for the software to run on, but this isn`t even so anymore I hear? Buggy console games? Hahahaha.. only in Microsoft. ;) |
I guess Rolandthemad the reason I got an Xbox is because it whips the shit out of the PC when it comes to sports titles. It's fun as hell me and my buds playing some football or basketball on my 60 inch RCA. For sports games the PC just plain ass sucks. BTW I had that old Sega, also, and trust me they've come a long way and are finally at the point where they are closing the gap on the good old PC. The PC, though, will always be at the top of the hill in my opinion, but developers are going to start moving towards consoles because the market for them is growing. I want an Alienware, which is going to cost me around 2 grand, but a lot of people would just rather spend a couple hundred bucks and be up and running. Who knows? Be interesting to see what's going to happen.

True enough. I wish I could play Morrowind on a 60 inch lol!
