I am considering starting the game but have heard the game is super long. Is the game longer than bg2? Who here has finished it?
TIA

Nanobyte 01-01-2003 12:40 PM

It's not really that long, there are just lots of subquests apart from the main storyline. I, myself, have never beaten it, but right now I'm trying to fix the graphics so I can play.

The good thing is, the game doesn't end after finishing the mainquest. There are so many side quests, dungeons, tombs, and caves to explore, it can go on forever. And now that there is an expansion it only got bigger and better.

Grungi 01-02-2003 09:19 AM

finishing it? eh? dont think that happens as yet i know not a single person who is even close to finishing it, main quest you can manage in a week easy if you concentrate on it, personally i havent bothered i tend to go for exploration and subquests and upping my guild status'es by completing the game you'd have to do every single quest going and i dont think even the games designers have done that

Rageheart 01-14-2003 06:14 PM

Fighters guild
Theives guild

Too bad you don't have the PC version, otherwise you could go on and on. If i'm not mistaken there are 8 new guilds you can download, not to mention sidequests, new races, etc...

Kakero 01-14-2003 09:35 PM

too bad there's no wife mod where one can get marry, settle down and have children.

What you need is the Sims, not Morrowind. :D

Grungi 01-15-2003 07:23 AM

the sims was cool, i began as a police officer , went on to be a tv star in a cop series then bizarrely became a superhero (didnt help with cleaning around the house though, bah!)

I forgot to pay the bills all the time, and then they came to take my furniture away. :D

Rhea 01-15-2003 11:31 AM

Finish Morrowind? There are actually people who FINISH THE GAME? :D

Seriously, I could polish off the Main Quest in no time, but I slowed down on the main quest, and I keep adding mods. Then there's Tribunal, which I intend to buy shortly...

One of these days I'll finish and start all over - maybe in honor of Tribunal.

But with plugins that add new guilds, quests, buildings, races (the first thing I ever did with TES was build my own race) I may be playing it permanently. One day, they'll find my mummified remains at my computer.

Rageheart 01-15-2003 04:31 PM

Mix the sims and morrowind..................Sim Medievil. go around town and thwart the black plague

Aragorn The Wise 01-15-2003 05:48 PM

I can't stand the sims. Eck, that horrid, horrid game...

Rageheart 01-15-2003 07:53 PM

yeah it does get a bit excessive sometimes, doesnt' it

Mellagar 01-16-2003 03:49 PM

There are indeed several subquests, but the main quest, if not played excessively, can be completed in about two or three weeks. As for the amount of subqyests there's more than needed to keep oneself completely engrossed for a very long time.

Rageheart 01-16-2003 06:07 PM

excessively mellagar? I'd say unwaveringly, like not eating or drinking

Kakero 01-16-2003 06:22 PM

there are also some quest that is available after you finish the game, eg, morag tong quest and mage guild quest.

My Mellagar I'm impressed. What an extensive vocabulary you have.

Aragorn The Wise 01-16-2003 09:27 PM

There is rumored to be a person who has a level 500 character. I surely hope he/she has completed the game. Otherwise I've never met anyone who has completed the game 100%

That's impossible, unless he kept paying a mastertrainer for skills that were already up to 100. You don't gain extra skill, but your level increases. So a level 70 char will be just as strong as a level 500 char. I guess that person is a sucker for statistics. :D

Grungi 01-17-2003 06:59 AM

i think you can hit high 70s with the right combination, impossible to go higher, you sure when you maxxed skills you can still level? i thought it was capped

Kakero 01-17-2003 07:25 AM

My character's level is 76 with all stat and skill at 100. I suppose one could go even higher by going to jail to lower their skills.
