I was planning on doing the Staff of Magi quest but cannot find the rogue stone. Now the problem is that I had it, and must have sold it thinking it was a gem or something. Now I cannot find it anywhere. Question: As I have no clue as to where I could have sold it, how can I retrieve it again? I dont like cheating but this was an honest mistake. Can I somehow place it back into inventory using these editing programs I keep reading about here in the forum?
Thanks for your time and help. |
I tried to sell the silly thing several times, because I thought it was just a regular rogue stone. No one would buy it.

OH no , if that is true thens things are even worse, I must have dropped the damn thing somewhere. If that is true is it then possible to edit the thing back in?

In regular SoA/ToB there is only one type of Rogue Stone, and it is perfectly sellable. McKirsten, I don't know whether or not you have TDD installed, but the CLUACode for a Rogue Stone is MISC45. You know how to use the CLUAConsole right? Spoilers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . >Alternatively, if you don't want to cheat, a few locations of a Rogue Stone that spring to mind are: the Adamantite Golem's room in Firkraag's Dungeon; somewhere in the Forgotten Temple (IIRC in the treasure dropped by the Shade Lord or the Shadow Dragon); and I believe there is one in Spellhold. There is also one in Mae'Var's guild on one of the last Lock Pick test doors. 2nd floor.
If you are a Thief it might be your guild..... |
A major spoiler ahead
. . . . . . . . . . . I know what Rogue Stone McKirsten means. I'm not sure if it's in the game intrinsically, or if you only get this by downloading the Slave Lords Quest fix from Baldurdash, but if you attack the Slave Lords in the Guarded Compound and kill them, one of them - Koshi by name - is carrying a curious, unsellable Rogue Stone. If you right-click it, it doesn't have the usual description of a Rogue Stone either - the description screen simply says 'I am in the Bridge District of Athkatla. Why you play these tricks on me?'. This is, of course, your link to the Twisted Rune. Don't worry, though, McK; any Rogue Stone (and there are a few about) will work on the door to the Rune. |
The Nalia Love mod had a special rogue stone ... do you have that mod installed? If so, the stone is in the Guarded Compound. It would be very annoying if there were only one rogue stone for entry ... one time I needed to go back to un-stone half of my party.

Don't worry--I found more Rogue Stones than I even bothered to count, and that's without any fancy patches or anything. Just progress with your game, you'll find another.

For info on how to use the CLUAConsole cheats check here.
