Hello Again Everyone!
I need a little hint in how to deal with the Camona tong (Is that how you spell it?) Anyway, the Moonmoth champion asked me to kill the buggers, so off I went to join the thieves guild to get some info from Sugarlips. I found out where they were, taunted the first guy, (The smith) but he wouldn't attack me. Even when I got his disposition at to 0, my taunts allways failed. Is there another way to get rid of 'em? I'm dying to know what my pressie from the emperor is but I can't afford my 'Bail money' if I attack first. |
Your speech skills will take a lot of repeat attempts in order to develop taunt skill and such. I personally moved on to other quests and still have not done away with those folks because I didn't want a bounty on my head. You can try the sneak skill and attempt stealing from one of the folks, but that will still cause a bounty on your head. Because you'll likely be noticed trying to pickpocket and they all will attack. Someone else will have the answer, but possibly after you develop your speechcraft skill more, you can pursuade them a bit better.

Here is how I did it. Spoiler below.
/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / I entered the Council Club and attacked the Smith. My crime was reported. I exited the club immediatly. I then reentered the club and was attacked by three of the four I was to kill. I killed them and then went to the lowest level of the Club and killed the last one. Since I had attacked the smith I now had a 40 gold bounty on my head, but since I left and reentered the club and was then attacked by the smith, I did not have to pay the 1000 gold for killing the smith as it was now self defence. I then stripped off all items I had not purchased, found a guard and paid the 40 gold to cover the bounty. Then I went back, recovered my goods and got paid by the Legion Champion. Taunting always takes multiple successful attempts. Usually it is anywhere from 3 to 6 successful taunts before they attack. It has been posted elsewhere and I have confirmed that keeping their disposition above zero increases the chances of successfully taunting someone. You can do this easilly by bribing them. As a side benefit this can increase your mercantile skill. With a low speechcraft it can take a while to get taunting to work. I suggest either training up your speechcraft or using Telvani Bug Must to increase your personality.

doesnt really matter for this quest if you get a bounty put on you, the guy at moonmoth that rewards you also removes any bounty on your head as part of the reward

I managed to taunt all of them - and save money that way , of course - you can always get back your bribe money from their corpses (more so, because each time I just attacked them the bloody bartender joined the fight and that catapulted the fine amount waaaay up). You have to do it three times. First the smith, second the lady way down the stairs and third - any of those three guys by the bar. Be careful though - all of them attack you at the same time no matter which one you taunt successfuly.
Bribe/Taunt system worked fine for me there. And a couple of reloads (akhm ) Neuro |
I don't know if my character design is bad or I'm just not a good player but I had a devil of a time with these guys. I didn't have any trouble getting them to attack me, but I kept dying in about 15 seconds. Finally I completed a quest for the Mage's Guild and got 2 summon Golden Saint scrolls so I used one of those. Then I didn't have any trouble. Just stood in the corner and kept casting heal on myself.

I did the same kinda thing as lox, but much earlier on in the game, it was one of the first missions i did in balmora. all i did was summon a greater bone walker and stood in the corner making sure that only one person could get me at a time. Just make sure you run to south wall corner club adn talk to the bartender to pay the price on your head!

But to make the use of magick easier, I installed a plugin, which restores your Mana over time, depending on your Willpower. It is fast enough, that you can cast some spells to ease your travel, but in serious comabt situtions, you still have to rely on potions, so the plugin is not to unbalancing. |
Also, after your little bloodbath don't bump into the guards or you'll have to pay a bounty. Just run back to Varro and he'll settle your bounty for you.
