Hey they say the water should be so cool to look at in the game but i dont think it is so darn great to look at, at all it look like "silver" or something all the time almost!

I read somewhere that the water looks so "butiful" in this game if you have GF card and i have a GF 3 with 128 mb ram and i have set all the video settings to max in the game still i dont think it is SO butiful the water! :(
Here is a pic how it look like!

The water looking better in the game "Drakan" with my Matrox G 400 Max card i think!!

I don't know, I am having GeForce 2 MX400 and I am yet to see any reflections on the water. Any tips?

most morrowind 'environmentalist' seem to be beginning gamers, especially to the rpg genre. of course, others just enjoy the effort put into this game, and admire almost everything about it.

well your water looks a lot better than mine

Kakero 06-27-2002 05:09 AM

hah! my radeon 8500 makes the water look like real.

My water has changed dramatically with my new video card. It does look more realistic than it did before.

Get a Radeon, my water looks a lot better than that. Not Only do I have reflections of landscape (can't see my own reflection though, and I'm not even a vamp), but the reflection bends and stretches with waves and ripples.

Well your water looks pretty normal to me, you will se the most effect when walking in it actually also dependng on how much of real shading you have on..

I still think that the water in Severance is much better, but there were only small passages of water there, so not to big a strain on the card..

frudi_x 06-30-2002 09:39 AM

first off - there shouldn't be any difference in how the water looks on a geforce3/4 or radeon 8500. i got a radeon and the water looks exactly the same as in Megabot's picture.
secondly - i don't like the pixel shaded water much either. sure, it looks nice, but it just doesn't look like water, more like mercury .

I think the water looks excellent. It's not a hot tropical island... ;)

I'm using a Gforce 3 64 mb, and it does look REAL. you might have your settings set wrong on your Video card.
As some settings , because they are there, doesnt mean that it will be better if you turn up everything.

BTW, that picture looks like , it is black&White, which doesnt look good at all.

As far as the reflections off the water, yea you can get some of that, and the weather outside effects how the water looks too.

I am new to this forum. Only learned of it last night (very early this morning).
I'll see about sending you all a picture on here, if you like, but not sure , if this forum can store images, or does it have to be hosted somewhere else?

GForce 3 (Xtasy TI 500) nVidia 29.42 drivers, ASUS RAMBUS MB, 512MB RAM, P4@2G = water looks the same with everything turned on.

However, after I installed patch 2 this evening, I am now getting snow on the ground in the Acadian Islands areas (area around Fort Pelagiad). Was the snow always there and I never saw it because I was trying to get better frame rates or is this a new problem?

PS: I had to remove my Adaptec 2940U SCSI controller and SMC 10/100 Ethernet card to keep the game from locking up if I moused too fast over the menus or left the menus up while I went to run errands. No more pressing F5 every 5-10 minutes and rebooting, so I can live with the snow...
