Summary:
Therlion, Keal and Kalam are waiting for Adohorn to return, who has gone warg-hunting. Turin, Terias and Kirūn (if Cienden doesn't post for another week I shall temporarily remove Kirūn from the game) are going after Therlion's group in order to help Kalam. Roland has just found Robyn. Celedor is following some orcs. Feldorn is moving towards Calladia. |
OOC>>Sorry took a while to post, I have been away for the last 2 days.
Adohorn For Adohorn: The dagger missed the warg's leg yet the arrow hit it in the stomach. With a yelp of pain the warg turned around and started half running and half limping down the left hand side corridor. [/QUOTE} Adorhorn ran after the Warg, drawing back another arrow as he went. Firing it off he was aiming for the leg rather than a fatal point, wanting to injure but not kill this one. It was far too valuable for that. |
For Adohorn:
The arrow hit the warg in its left hind leg and it fell down to the ground. A sound came out of its mouth and Adohorn thanks to his long years experience noticed that it was not wargish. The creature was barking in dog language. Here is what Adohorn hears: "Deliver me from my suffering. A now long dead mage cursed me to become this foul creature. Help me die, and by doing me this favor you shall erase me as a menace to these lands." [ 10-14-2004, 04:11 PM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
"Robyn! You're.. You're alright? Unharmed? I read the letter, and I was worried that..." Roland was about to say that he was worried that Lord Easthome took her for security, but then thought it wasn't safe infront of the guard. He looked at the guard, then turned to the captain with a questioning look, and the captain turned his head from side to side, revealing the guard the loyalties to Easthome. Roland turned back to Robyn and smiled "I am just glad you are alright!"
|
Robyn
"I am alright. A bit tired though." Then she noticed the look on Roland's face and drew him a few steps away. "What has happened? Is everything all right? What has happened to Turin?" - the thought of harm coming to the man she had just really started beginning to know filled her heart with fear and she waited for Roland's reply anxiously. |
Adohorn
Adohorn stopped, stunned by what he heard. Never in all his time had a Warg ever spoken before. Although ironically he supposed this wasn't really a Warg at all... He would help he decided, but he could also learn a lot from this creature, so maybe killing it straight away wouldn't be a good idea, if that was even what it wanted. Adohorn nodded and tried his best to respond, "Ok I shall help you. What do I have to do? I'm sure I can just kill you right here, or else you would have died many moons ago at your own discression." |
Celedor continues to follow the orcs. He needs to stay downwind from them so as not to let them smell him. He will move to a new location accordingly.
|
For Salphur and Hurlon:
The two friends had journeyed together for several years, always achieving more and more and at the same time wanting more and more also. It was not strange that their hunger for power brought them into the enemy's grasp. It had now been three years that they served him and had already completed several missions. They had just succesfully returned from an assassination, in which a disloyal human leader had to be killed. Arandor, the mage who had given them the mission did not seem to really care about the result. Salphur and Hurlon had heard rumors that not everything was right in the stronghold. But Arandor did not talk about this. He was telling them about a new mission and the reward was the highest he had ever offered them. "My master is having concerns over one of our human allies. He has sent some of his orcs to take care of the problem, but we all know that orcs aren't always reliable. I actually think that they shall fail. In case they succeed then you shall not be needed. But it is always good to go for sure. What my master wants is you two to check out on a group of adventurers who have been wreaking havoc in the area, and if they pose a threat to our plans you are to eliminate them. If you wish you can go to the armory in the stronghold to get equipped. You shall not need to pay for this. Is everything clear?" Arandor then proceeding in telling them all the details of the mission and afterwards sent them off to get equipped. |
For Adohorn:
"Do you think that if I could have killed myself then I wouldn't have done it? I am unable to do it. The curse also involves this. Will you help me?" |
For Celedor:
The orcs continue on and in the middle of the night you come in view of the town they were heading to. Not far outside the town the orcs stop for several minutes. Examining more closely Celedor can see that they are looking at the bodies of several humans. The leader of the small group of orcs recognizes one of the humans as Lord Easthome. The orcs then continue on to the city and arrive at the gates, where their leader goes in with four of his bodyguards. The rest of the orcs stay in front of the gate. |
Adohorn
"I will help you, just tell me what I must do. But I must ask, why did you resort to plaguing the lands with grief instead of just asking for help in the first place?" [ 10-15-2004, 07:08 PM: Message edited by: RoSs_bg2_rox ] |
For Adohorn:
"I can not act against the curse. I was the dog of a mage, but once I failed to protect him from an attack and he transformed me into this, cursing me to terrorrise these lands until someone manages to kill me." [ 10-16-2004, 10:44 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
Adohorn
"Okay I get you now...how many moons have you been under this curse? Adohorn suddenly remembered the friends he had left back in the woods, injured and cold, in all this excitement he had forgotten about them, his mind had wandered yet again. We better get things moving, I have others to tend to who may be in great need. What can I do? |
For Adohorn:
"I have been cursed like this for near to two centuries. Numerous are those whom died of my attacks. To kill me you need to cut off my head. I am ready now." [ 10-16-2004, 10:52 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
"Yes, yes, Turin is alright. We have had a... meeting with lord Easthome." Roland took her hand and led her out of earshot of the guard. There, he continued with the explaning "We... well Turin actually, killed lord Easthome. It only about an hour ago, and noone knows yet. But I don't think it would be wise to try our luck and stay in the town any longer. Turin is right outside the town and is waiting for us, we should go."
|
For Roland and Robyn:
Roland did not notice the guard captain come up behind him, he only heard his words. "I am sorry." Then a blunt object hit him in the back of the head. Roland fell to the ground unconscious. Robyn started running at the guard captain but he dropped the club he had used. "Wait! Roland has killed two innocent guards and I shall place him under arrest until Kalam can judge him. Do not make me arrest you too." Robyn seeing that she had no chance weaponless against the captain accepted this. When Roland came back to his senses he was in a small cell with one window. Robyn was sitting on a chair outside his cell and the guard captain was standing next to her. "I'm sorry. You wouldn't have understood. Now if you'll excuse me it seems that an orcish army has arrived. I have to meet with their leader. The guard I leave here is loyal to Kalam. Should you need anything call him. He is outside the door." The captain left by a massive wooden door, leaving Roland to speak with Robyn. "Is it true what I hear? That you killed two guards without being provoked?" [ 10-19-2004, 05:05 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
Roland let out a deep breath "Yes. It is true. I killed those men without real need, without cause. I was.. I don't know, I just didn't think. It was not long after the fight with Easthome and his men that I found out that you weren't home. I thought the worst, that you were kidnapped or something.. I rushed up to the hall as the thoughts in my head went wild. One thought lead to another, and I just assumed that the whole town knows that Easthome was dead, and that I had to do with it."
|
Keal begins circling his arm, and holds his shoulder."I'm going to look around for Ardana, I won't wander far off, so if you need me, you should only need to call." Keal says as he picks up his sword, and runs out of the cave.
|
Adohorn
Adohorn's full concentration was on the Warg, he was facinated yet saddened with her tale. He could only imagine being stuck inside a Warg's body, cursed for centuries, it sounded horrible. He knew he should ask some questions, but at the same time he knew he had a duty to the others, and he must make haste on getting back. "Ok, I will do as you ask, may you rest in peace. And with that Adohorn solemly drue his dagger and slit the Warg's throat, cutting right through to the other side. Blood sprayed at him and he felt himself humbled. Standing for a few moments he reflected on his own life and thanked the gods that he was alive in his own body and he hadn't befallen this fate. Then he made haste, retracing his steps as fast as possible back to the others... |
Robyn
She sat thinking of what Roland had just told her. Possibilities raced in her mind, but she could not think clearly. The guard captain had told her that Turin was not just outside the town. Could he have been captured by the orcs who had just arrived? Fear filled her heart. "I couldn't find Turin outside the town. I fear he might have been captured by the orcs. But he could have also left before they got here. Do you know of any place where he could have gone?" |
Feldorn and Robyn
Feldorn and the four guards were approaching the town of Calladia. While still a long distance away they spotted the orcs and changed course entering the town from the small gate on the other side. Inside the town they only spoke to the captain, telling him the truth of what had happened. The captain then went off to speak with the orcs. Feldorn with the knowledge of where to find Robyn and Roland went to the prison with two of the guards who arranged him to be let in. As Roland was about to answer Robyn's question the door opened and Feldorn stepped in. Robyn gasped in surprise at seeing him and ran over to him. "Feldorn! It has been a long time. What has happened to you?" "A lot of things. But before I start explaining everything I have to ask for you to pardon me. The enemy tortured me into revealing all information about our mission and any hardships you might have encountered would have come from this. Can you forgive me?" |
Alone in the cave, Therlion covered Kalam with a blanket and sat next to him. He drew his shortsword and put it at his side, just for precaution. After a moment, Therlion takes out his remining elven dagger, and handles it for a time. He starts invoking the little amount of remaining magic to form a spell, but he doesn't finish it. "This dagger might be a fine holder of magical enchantment." he thinks to himself, as he imagines what effect the spell he just didn't cast would have on the dagger. He opens his palm up, and the dagger levitates just an inch above it. He motions his other hand over the dagger, and starts summoning his magic to imbue into the dagger, but does not release it. He is too weak to perform the feat now, but when the time comes, he intends to know the full process. He continues inspecting the blade's features and imagining the magical empowerments possible upon it.
|
For Keal:
Keal inspects the area around the cave, but does not find anything which might indicate Ardana being close around. But that was normal since they were still some way away from the location the dwarf had specified to them. Just as Keal turned to go back to where Therlion and Kalam were he heard a sound from behind a rock off to his side. [ 10-17-2004, 09:07 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
For Adohorn, Therlion, Kalam, Turin, Terias and Kirūn (that's a long list :D ):
As Adohorn cut off the head of the creature an air of magic being dispelled filled the cavern. The way back went much faster for Adohorn as the moon was out all the time and he could clearly see the way he needed to go. As he neared where he had left Therlion, Kalam and Keal he saw the faint glow of Therlion's attempt at seeing what enchanting a dagger would do. After Adohorn had explained the demise of the creature and Therlion told Adohorn that Keal had gone off exploring Adohorn set up a small fire from the wood the dwarf had given them. Despite the small size of the flames the fire gave off a surprising amount of heat. Therlion and Adohorn sat around the fire for some time discussing their lives and it was only when the riders were nearly upon them that they heard the soft sound of the horses hooves on the snow. Turin, Terias and Kirūn had ridden far during the day and were looking for a place to camp in the snowy wilderness when they spotted a small camp fire not too far away. Roland thought about what Feldorn said, and recalled the events of the last day. "I too have doings in need of forgiveness. Forgiveness from both the wronged ones and myself. Seeing that we are all still alive, as far as I know, I would forgive were it not bigotrous of me. There is nothing to forgive, as far as I am concerned. You are here now, and may continue in turning this town to our side." Roland from the window of the cell.

Thinking it strange that orcs are cautious over a few dead humans, Celedor continues to watch the orcs closely...and keeping his senses sharp in case of any orcs that may come from behind him.
|
Robyn and Feldorn and for Roland:
"I feel the same way towards you as Roland does, Feldorn. I guess, given the circumstances you did not have any choice. I just hope that the psychological scars you got from the torture shall not affect your whole life." "I thank both of you for your understanding. What have you done that needs forgiving, Roland?" Robyn drew Feldorn away a few steps and explained to him. Several moments of uneasy silence followed which were broken by a key turning in the door and then the guard captain walked in. "I have a problem. The orcs who have arrived want an explanation from the leader of this town about why your group has not been captured and sent back to the stronghold yet. However the orcs have found Lord Easthome's body and now want to speak with Kalam and his sister. Can you Roland stand in as Kalam and you Robyn as Harmeth for talks with the orcs?" "Damn. You see what I have caused. The enemy knows about us and shall not rest until it destroys us." "Feldorn, there is no use in eating away at yourself any more. The harm has been done, now we should try and repair the damage. Captain, can try to do so." [ 10-19-2004, 05:06 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
For Celedor:
Apart from the five orcs going into the town nothing special happens for several hours. The rest of the smaller group of orcs settle down outside the town and start making food for themselves. |
Celedor continues to watch the orcs. "Why don't they go into town?" he thought. He took a brief pause to listen for anything/anyone approaching his rear before continueing on his watching. Celedor thought to himself, "Do something or leave damnit!"
|
For Celedor:
As the hour advanced the orcs settled down more, waiting for their leader to come back from inside the town. A few humans started appearing on the town walls watching the orcs. |
"As Kalam? I can try. To a group of orcs I might be the best Kalam they would ever see."
|
For Roland and Robyn:
After saying goodbye to Feldorn, who said he was going to explore around the town while waiting for them to get back the guard captain led Roland and Robyn towards the town center. They entered from the back and the captain led them through several doors and corridors before stopping in front of a large door. "Even though we shall be extremely grateful if you help us Roland, you shall still have to be judged by Kalam once he gets back for the deaths of the two guards. I hope you understand this." He pushed open the door and announced to the five orcs sitting on one side of a long table: "The Lord Kalam Easthome and the Lady Harmeth Easthome!" He beckoned them towards the three chairs on their side of the table. He offered Robyn the leftmost chair and Roland the middle chair while he himself sat in the rightmost chair. The orc in the middle, who looked the biggest and the strongest of the five spoke up. "Me Glurg, the Strong. My master who you serve tell me come here to speak Lord this town. Captain tell me you lord. Me have one question me master tell me ask you. Why you not send heads of adventurers?" [ 10-19-2004, 05:09 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |
OOC: I am pleased to announce that Bober is reentering the game!!
For Bober: After Salphur and Hurlon left to get equipped Arandor sent a guard to summon Bober to him. "Have you enjoyed your captivity with us? I guess you shall be happy to know that your stay here is over. You are going to be used by some of my men, who shall blackmail the rest of your group with harming you. I hope you shall like it." |
Salphur:
Salphur turns to Hurlon and gives an evil smile as he says "finally a job that sounds worthy our skills" As he enters the Armory, he notices a brand new set of Studded leather armor, which he grabs, he then walks over to the corner and reaches behind a cupboard only to pull out two Katanas "ahh my beauties, you will be very helpfull on this mission" He slides them into his belt, tells Hurlon to hurry and heads back towards Arandor's chamber. [ 10-19-2004, 08:57 AM: Message edited by: Hivetyrant ] |
Hurlon:
Hurlon quickly scans the armoury, untill his eyes fall upon a light chain mail vest which he hurridly puts over his head, and replaced his long coat atop this. He then searches for weapons... He glimpses a short bow which he places over his shoulder, along with a quiver of arrows. then turning to a large ammount of swords, he selects a long, straight, light sword. Taking this along with it's sheath, he follows Salphur from the room. [ 10-20-2004, 07:57 AM: Message edited by: Intrepid ] |
For Salphur, Hurlon and Bober:
As Salphur and Hurlon finished equipping themselves and returned to Arandor's chamber Arandor had just finished talking to Bober. He looked at the two who had just came back. "I see you have selected fine armor and weapons. I have come up with a plan to help you in your mission. This dwarf here, Bober is his name if I remember correctly is one of the companions of the group you shall be acting against. He was captured a few days ago. Use him however you want to against them. I suggest blackmail, but there are other possibilities also. You might want to hide that you are working for me, while you gather information from them, but if the need arises don't be afraid to act against them." A guard stepped over and handed Salphur some rope. "Tie the prisoner if you wish. Should you need anything else for your mission feel free to ask, otherwise may your evil ways help you on the mission." |
Salphur:
I think it would be wise to blindfold him, so is unable to see things that shouldnt been seen." Salphur signals to the guard to get some cloths. "as for blackmail...., I think I have a better idea in mind, but it will take time...." |
Keal turns his head, and jumps over the rock from wich he heard the noise, and grabbed what seemed to be a foot of some sort.
|
For Keal and Turin:
Keal feels a hairy foot among his hands and looking up sees that he has grabbed the foot of a horse. Turin notices an elf jumping at his horse and the horse starts getting agitated. ============================== For Salphur, Bober and Hurlon: You leave on the two day journey which lies ahead of you. Feel free to talk with the prisoner or come up with plans. |
Adohorn
Adohorn looks up when he hears horses hooves, thinking it strange they should be passing at this hour. "Are you friend or foe? he bellowed, grasping at his dagger. [ 10-28-2004, 01:09 PM: Message edited by: RoSs_bg2_rox ] |
