OOC: This roleplay would take place in the first age of the Tolkien created world with a theme that a group of elves, humans and dwarves who had been fighting together against the troops of Morgoth (the evil of those times) have become seperated and want to accomplish the task they had been doing before they had been ambushed. Which was a scouting mission on Morgoth forces and especially the humans who had gone over to join him.

I am open minded enough about what that might be. It wouldn't be a dice throwing roleplay just freeform. So if you are interested then go to the other thread to sign up for it.

I shall be starting it when enough people get together.

Edit: at the start of the rp you would all be scattered because of an orc attack which had cost half the troop their lives. First you would have to find any survivors and then continue your mission.

It had been about three months since you had all set out to scout and if possible destroy human encampments who had joined Morgoth. Only three days ago you had stopped to resupply in a friendly elven encampent. There were forty of you at the beginning but now because of the orc attack there were much less. None of you knew exactly how much. You were all scattered after the orc ambush. It must have been some black magic with which your scouts had not noticed them during the night. Lots of orc, human, dwarven and elven bodies covered the ground on the battlefield.

Hrolf, Bober and Kirun (OOC: sorry but I do not have that accent on my keyboard) being all three dwarves had fought together. During the skirmish they had drifted eastward from their initial positions but they did not exactly know where they were. Bober and Kirun had only received bruises and minor cuts, but Hrolf had a rather deep looking wound on his left forearm. <font color="gold">"Is any of you perchance a healer? If not I'll just have to hope that one of the elven healers survived"</font>-he asked.

Therlion and Terias the two elven mages had several burnt orc corspes next to them. Thanks to their magic powers they had not received wounds. They were about 300 meters from the campsite and they could still see a few figures standing there.

Turin, Feldorn and Roland are at the initial camp site. Roland during the battle has received a bad knock on the head so at the moment he is unconscious. Feldorn the ranger had fired many arrows during the battle and was just collectin new ones for himself and he was just commenting on what a great fighter Turin was, who was trying to revive the young Roland when they heard a dry cough from the direction of one of the bodies. Earlier on their check they had though that their leader had died, but it now seemed that he was still alive.

Feldorn ran over to him with Turin close behind <font color="green">"Hold on Elfalas we shall try to get you to a healer." </font>-said Feldorn. <font color="blue">"It is too late for that. I am going to die, young one. I am one of those who has already seen the shores of Valinor. My spirit is going to rest there. It is my wish that that young human Turin lead the group on. He has much good qualities and it would be better if when you get near you destination a human be in the lead. And I also see much more power in him than even he knows about." </font> Feldorn looked extremely surprised at this since he had never before heard about anything like this happening. But he had great respect for the old elf, so he just said <font color="green">"I'll make the others accept. Farewell old fighter." </font> He closed the eyes of the now dead warrior, whispered a prayer for his soul's safe passage to Valinor and turned to Turin. <font color="green">"I think it is best if I go and look for the others."</font> As he was an elven ranger even Turin had to accept that he was a much better scout than him and did not object. With that Feldorn picked up his bow which had been standing next to a tree and strode off east, the way he had seen the dwarves go.

<font color="white">"I Bah... where was the fighting? Y`all need some more holes in ya torso."</font> Bober said. He paused for a while and rest. He tunred to his two fellow Dwarves and asked them on thier situation. <font color="white">"How are ya?</font> he said. Then he nodded something about Hrolf`s deep cut and used Magic to heal him. Hrolf was left standing while his deep wound was just regenerating back so quickly. He thanked to Bober.

<font color=skyblue>Turin</font>

Turin watched the elf run off to gather to him any survivors of the ambush. He looked down at his blood-stained blade. It had not helped save the lives of those lost on the field. Indeed, it only saved one life. Why was Turin the one that had to suffer the fate of watching so many of his friends and companions enter into eternal rest while he remained on this festering earth?

He walked back to Roland and continued to try and revive him.
<font color=skyblue>
"Come on Littlestone. There is no time to be asleep on the job. You are too young to be so sleepy! Pull through this for me. Roland?"</font>

Therlion pulls his shortsword to him with his magic and looks at the orc bodies around them lightly, then looks a bit farther away. Seeing the elven, dwarven and human bodies scattered across the battlefield he mutters <font color="blue">"This did not go well."</font>
He points at the several figures he sees standing a bit off in the distance and says <font color="blue">"Come, let's go see who they are. We can check for anyone else that is alive along the way."</font>

Cienden 03-10-2004 03:26 PM

<font color="FF3300">Kirūn</font> bent down to retrieve a small throwing axe, cleaned it quickly, and stuck it back in his belt. Straightening, he scowls at Bober. <font color="FF3300">"What sorta question is 'how are ya?'?"</font> He breaks into a grin. <font color="FF3300">"Jest fine my good friend! Good job patchin up the lass. Before this day is out ye may save a few more lives, so keep yer fancy hammer close. I'll be watchin yer back."</font> He turns to scan the area for any enemies or allies in sight. Shouldering his massive double-bladed axe, <font color="FF3300">Kirūn</font> turns back to face the other two, he says, <font color="FF3300">"I s'pose we should try'n find some of our allies.</font> Adding to Hrolf, <font color="FF3300">"Ye ready for a wee bit more fun today with yer axes, lassy?"</font>

Hrolf and Feldorn

<font color=gold>"Thank you very much indeed Bober. I'll be fine Kirūn thank you." </font> He was just about to say something else when Feldorn stepped out from among the trees. <font color="green"> "So that's where you had been hiding" </font> the elf said with a small grin. As the dwarves started to protest about their worth in the battle he quickly silenced them with a wave of his hands. <font color="green">"The others are in a clearing about 250 meters west of here. Go there. I shall continue to look for survivors." </font> He then quickly told them about Elfalas's death and that he had given command over to Turin. He then adjusted the bow on his back and ran off back into the forest. <font color=gold> So after the elf it is now a human who is leading us. I don't know too much about him. Mayhaps he shall make a good leader. </font>-said Hrolf. She picked up her axe and started walking in the direction Feldorn had said the others were. Then looking back at the other two, still thinking about what the elf had said, she shouted over her shoulder:<font color=gold> "Well, aren't you two coming?" </font>

Looking at the piles of dead bodies all around, Terias puts his staff firmly on the ground and heaves a sigh. He had wanted advanture after leaving his town, but not this kind. However, he was happy, for all this effort had been done for the cause of good and righteousness.(In his thoughts)

He then hears a fellow mage in the battle, one called Therlion, waving to Terias and calling to see who the standing people are. Terias says "<font color="red">" I can not say that this didnt go too well, but let us now depart. Let us also make haste and check the standing survivors to see if they are friend or foe."</font>

Roland Littlestones eyes slowly opened. He felt pain on his head. He saw Turin looking over him. <font color="blue"> I thank you for watching over me </font> The young man went up to his feet and looked upon the battlefield where the bloody massacre that had taken place, where bodies of humans, elves, dwarves and orc lay in pools of each others blood. Roland continued to stare at the sight. And picked up his weapon on the ground. And thought "I didn't even get to kill an orc before I got smacked with the vile creatures weapon hilt!" Roland knew he was lucky to be alive. He turned to face Turin. <font color="blue"> Again I thank you. I am truly in your debt and I promise I shall not rest until I have returned the favor! Are there any living besides the two of us?</font>

"Yes, Feldorn is still with us. He has gone to search out the other survivors now. Everyone that survived will be meeting us here, so we just have to wait and see who shows up."</font>

Turin looked again over the battlefield to those many heroes that would never again be seen by their loved ones. It brought back the pains of his own loss, and renewed his hatred for Morgoth and his dark plans. Why any human would join him in order to see to the destruction of thier own kind was beyond comprehension to this farmer.

OOC: Just to speed things up a bit.

Bober, Kirūn, Terias, Therlion and Hrolf arrive about simultaneously at the clearing. Feldorn gets back about 15 minutes later.
<font color=green>"I could not find any more survivors. I made a full search all around the campsite and I only found dead bodies. I also found a lot of our people missing so I think the orc's might have taken prisoners. And as some of you might already know, Elfalas just before dying designated Turin to lead our party onwards. I do not question this decision since he was the wisest among all of us, and I hope everyone else accepts it." </font> Then drawing Turin to one side so that the others could not hear: <font color=green>"After we set out on this mission Elfalas told me that should he not survive he has a diary with some details in it that should go to the new leader after his death. He has not told anyone about what was on that paper. I took the paper off him after his death, but I haven't looked at it. I hereby give it to you. I saw him writing in it each day. So it might give us some clues of what to do now." </font> With that he handed over the diary to Turin and left him alone to be able to read it. This is what he is able to read (most of the diary is in elvish or much too bloodied for him to read)(OOC:I consider that the members of the group speak their own racial languages and the common tongue and since Turin was a farmer I consider that he didn't have ample opportunities to learn elvish up to a level sufficient to understand the diary):

"I am Elfalas. This is my journal. Should this journal be among your hands it means that I am dead."

"1st day of the mission:

I feel extremely uneasy about this mission. The are we have been told to scout is much too close to one of the strongholds of Morgoth. We might run into trouble before the end. I write the essence of my diary in the common tongue too since it might not get into elven hands."

"15th day:

One of the rangers, Helbion picked up the tracks of a group of about 300 orcs running parallel with our course about 4 miles away from us. He said they were about 4 days ahead of us. I didn't tell any of the group about this, since I did not want to cause panic."

"17th day:

I sent Helbion to scout out further the troop of orcs."

"25th day

Helbion still hasn't come back. I fear the worst. In the event that our group gets attacked by the orc troop, if whoever is reading this journal is part of our group, I hereby entrust the details of the mission to you. It will be your decision whether to tell the others about it. I decided not to, because I could not know whether everyone in the group could be trusted.

The mission as it had been explained to the whole of the group was to scout out a human encampment which humans who had went over to Morgoth made about 3 days journey from one of his strongholds. This actually is only part of the mission. The elders of the elven city (here the name is written in elvish) have come to know that Morgoth is training these humans as spies to be sent among those who resist him. The mission is not to destroy the encampment but to get enough information about those who have been implanted in other humabn encampments to be able to identify them, and feed them false information. For this some of the humans will have to infilter the base and get the information. If after my death Turin is still alive I would suggest it to be him to lead the spying mission, although the leader after my death will have to make that decision. The rest (the dwarves and the elves) will have a different mission during this time. The stronghold Morgoth has, has so far proven to be a mystery to us. It has been known that some dwarves have joined Morgoth so dwarves bringing captured elves to the stronghold could be accepted. The dwarves after bringing their "captives" would have to find out the most information they can about the stronghold, while the elves if possible, would have to misinform and escape. The elders entrusted this to me, although I dislike it greatly. Knowing to walk among all of these people and then having to send them to a nearly certain death has greatly troubled me during the time since I had been told about this mission.

An important note to the leader of the group. Those whom I am completely sure that can be trusted are all the elves, since no elf has ever joined Morgoth, Turin, Roland, Helbion and Bober (and four or five other names of people who lie dead in the clearing). Turin holds such a deep hatred for Morgoth that he could not betray the group. Bober had been specially suggested to us by one of the visiting dwarven lords, although Bober does not know about this. Roland I have found too young and too innocent to be able to be a traitor. Helbion is the most trustworthy human I have ever met. Although he wasn't the best scout of the party I could trust him with the fact that we were in danger."

"26th day:

Feldorn who had been the advance scout for the party since Helbion's disappearance came to tell me that he had found a clearing about 5 miles ahead of us, where he had found a body. He was nearly certain that it was Helbion's, but he could not be sure since the head was missing. I told him about the orc tracks Helbion had sighted and sent him forward to scout. He came back only an hour later to tell me the orcs were bearing down on us at great speed. I now knew it was inevitable to tell the group about the danger."

That is the last entry in the diary. Elfalas never told the group about the orcs, since it was only about 10 minutes after Feldorn came back that the orcs attacked. He never had the chance. He had been among one of the first to fall in the battle.

OOC: well that got a bit long. It is now Larr's choice of what the party is going to do since his character had been designated leader.

<font color=skyblue>Turin</font>

Finding Feldorn, Turin said:
<font color=skyblue>
"Unless I have miscounted, there are eight of us. Three elves, three dwarves, and two humans. Such a small number can more easily travel and remain hidden from Morgoth's evil than a large army. We need to disappear now in some fashion while I study over these notes, for there are tactics here that may bring us victory yet! But we must not allow the Enemy to know we have survived. Everything counts on them thinking that they have wiped us out completely. I do not think we have much time. Most of the bodies were left unspoiled and I will have to assume that somebody will be coming along in hopes of finding a treasure amonst us. We need to be gone by then. In fact, we need to know if they are already approaching! Take the other elves with you and see if you can forsee any advancing foes. Meanwhile I shall consult with the dwarves to see if there be any caverns near here that might aid us in secret passage.

What do you think?"</font>

After a few moments he coughs to get Turin's attention. <font color="FF3300">"I dun't know ye well boy, but if Elfalas trusted ye to this position, I'll lend ye me support. On the one hand, I dun know 'bout any dwarves in this here region or their 'legiance, but we may be able to find some with Bober and Hrolf's help."</font>

Shifting his weight around, and leaning on his large axe, he continues. <font color="FF3300">"On the other hand, ye asked 'bout secret passages? Roland

Nods at Kirun's statement and faces the party leader.

<font color="green"> Yes I agree with Kirun. I think we should go find some of these passages. I doubt our foes will expect us to come through rarely traversed roads. Maybe the dwarves who joined with the great evil built the secret passages, maybe to transfer supplies without intervention which would indefinetly take us where we want. But there is a possibilty that the routes will take us further from our destination. And my wacky thought is wrong. And even if it was right it would mean we have to sneak past many enimies. I am sure not everyone in this party is skilled in stealth as our good ranger. </font>

<font color=silver>"An invisibility spell engulfing several people and lasting for hours is a difficult cast for any wizard. But an enchantment of only several minutes is a much more accomplishable task. If any of us spot an enemy I can cast the spell which will hold untill we can hide or the enemy leaves. The forest over there looks like a good place to hide."</font> Therlion points to a dense forest on the side. <font color=silver>"We could hide there for now, untill Turin examines the diary." </font>

Larry_OHF 03-13-2004 09:24 PM

<font color=skyblue>Turķn</font>

Listening to all the suggestions, mostly from the dwarves, and now the elves voicing their opinions...mostly due to the idea that they probably would not enjoy going underground like the dwarves would so now the mention of finding seclusion in the forest is being brought up...Turķn realized that leadership was far harder than he ever imagined! Taking a clearing deep breath of air into his lungs, he said...

<font color=skyblue>"I first would like to apologize for myself that I know that most of you would make far better leaders than I would, as you are all much older than I and you have seen more of the world than I have. I am honored that Elfalas has left the team of survivors in my undeserving hands and I shall serve him not as I would do with my own intellegence as a mortal man, but in honor of Elfalas we shall continue to serve his memory and do things the way he wanted them done, for he gave his life for this mission and this mission is consecrated with his own blood...and the blood of our fallen brethren.

Therefore, by following this procedure that Elfalas has laid out for us, I realize that he knew what he was doing, and the faith that he has in each of us shall be proven this day forward.

Now...

1. It says here that there are human spies that need to be exposed for who they are. As humans, Roland and I have the mission of getting close to the areas that may lead us to these humans and stop them individually. We are suggested to feed them false information that would in turn protect the innocent. I would like to go further than that and actually remove these traitors from their positions, but Roland and I will need to consider this during the mission.

2. For the Elves and the Dwarves, this letter spells out a particularly difficult mission. In fact, it is a mission of suicide, but I think that we can pull it off. The letter I have here says that some dwarven tribes have been known to be helping Morgoth by bringing him elven slaves. We have three dwarves in the group, and three elves. The task as explained in this diary is that the dwarves lead the elves into the stronghold and give them up to whatever fate awaits them...meanwhile as the dwarves have the opportunity to search out the area and find possible weaknesses in the defence...the elves will have to endure whatever befalls them. As soon as the dwarves find the secrets out that are needed, they in turn help rescue the elves again that were brought in, and the six of you flee as fast as you can and as quietly as you can out of the hold. This information about Morgoth's weaknesses will be what our leaders are needing to ensure victory when the army is created that would wipe him out of our land forever. Meanwhile Roland and I would be stopping the armies on the outside from rallying by removing those faithful to the Dark Lord.

Now...I know this all sounds ludricous, but we can do this, if we believe in the mission and for what purposes we are doing it. It would mean that Roland and I break away from the rest of you, while you have the most dangerous mission that anyone has ever come up with...but think of the benefits of what you would learn for all of us.

I accept my orders and will do as requested by these words written upon this paper, but I will not order any of you to accept your part in this. If you so choose not to accept these plans I have spelled out, we will formulate another plan.

My friends, what say you to this? Each may speak for himself or herself. "</font>

The Fallen One 03-14-2004 01:57 AM

Terias thinks carefully about what Turin just said. Everything makes sense. After a few minutes of thought, Terias responds <font color=red> "Turin, this plan may be risky, but two of use elves are mages, therefore we do not need any equipment to keep enemies at bay, if need be. Therlion and myself shall do our best to protect and most importanly aid Feldron, if a battle arises."</font>

Xen 03-14-2004 05:45 AM

Bober was astonished by Turin`s hubelness. He said:<font color=white>"I am proud to have such a leader as you my friend. I am honoured to serve you and therefore I shall help you until I die."</font>

<font color=white>"Hmm... I can go in the Misty Mountains or to Moria. I have some friends there ya know. But as we would be separated this would not be good. For any of us. I would like to see that other Dwarves here go with me."</font>

Bozos of Bones 03-14-2004 04:51 PM

<font color=silver>"I accept the mission, in both the honor of Elfalas and my new leader."</font> Therlion bows his head slightly. <font color=silver>"Hopefully there will be a chance to learn something in the stronghold.. and free the slaves."</font>

dplax 03-14-2004 05:38 PM

<font color=green>Feldorn</font>

Feldorn so far only listening to the conversation felt he now had to intervene:<font color=green> "It seems Bober that you do not exactly know where we are. You see on this map"</font>-he said taking out a map from his pocket<font color=green>" we are here. That is nearly 3 weeks journey from Moria. That is much too far. Turin I accept this mission and shall do my best. Although I would like to add that I do not agree in searching for secret passages since we would not have any way of know what we would find in there. I would also like to add that Morgoth also has many other servants than orcs, cunning servants, so our mission will be harder than most of you think."</font> He suddenly stopped and Hrolf thinking that she could start speaking did so, but Feldorn signalled everyone to silence. He then flattened himself on the ground with one ear pressed to it. After about ten seconds he jumped up and said in a hurried voice.<font color=green>"A large group is moving this way! As we do not know whether they are friend or foe I suggest you hide. I could go have a look." </font> With that he sent a questioning stare at Turin for confirmation.

Larry_OHF 03-14-2004 06:23 PM

<font color=skyblue>Turķn

"It must be a search party to ensure the death of everyone and to loot the bodies!" </font>

Turķn looked about but saw nothing except dead bodies on an opened field, and no immediate place to take cover. Then he had one desperate idea.
<font color=skyblue>
"The only plan I have is if we spread ourselves out and lay among the dead, weapons in-hand. Feldorn will signal us if our visitors be friends or foe. If one of us is detected by the Enemy, we all jump up and fight until the last of us falls. Remember! Even humans or dwarves could be our enemy, so nobody make a move until we can determine their intent!

Mages! The two of you go on opposite sides of the field from one another, that your powers may be spread out and the area of affect broader. A fighter should accompany each of you. I shall go with Terias and Hrolf go with Therlion!
Kirūn, stay near Bober on the South end and keep him safe, we may need healing after this! Roland, Be close enough to Feldorn to watch his back, but stay felled to the ground. If Feldorn risks alerting us, he may be in the greatest danger. Keep him safe.

Let's GO!"</font>

Turķn runs over to lay beside Terias, holding his black sword under him.

Bozos of Bones 03-15-2004 04:29 AM

Therlion nods his head in agreement, turns and starts running towards the opposide side of the field. Once there, he started casting a spell. Blood soon appeared on his chest. The blood soaked most of his clothes before an orcish axe appeared buried in his chest. Smiling, Therlion sat on the ground and looked at Hrolf <font color=silver>"Do you want a wound?"</font>

dplax 03-15-2004 06:42 AM

<font color=gold>Hrolf

"Yes, I think that would make Turin's plan better."</font>

<font color=green>Feldorn</font>

Putting an arrow onto the string of his bow he ran off silently towards where he had heard the noise. He disappeared amongst the trees

OOC: I won't go any furhter, I'll just leave everyone a chance to post.

Bozos of Bones 03-15-2004 04:30 PM

After creating a greatsword in Hrolf's side, Therlion found a nice place to lay dead and did so.

Sythe 03-15-2004 10:24 PM

Roland saw Feldron head off to trees. The boy falled the ever quick elf. Roland lagged behind because he did not want to reveal Feldorns position. Roland stayed low near the corpses and would play dead when his warrior insticts tell him danger is coming or fight when he hears the sound of battle.

<font color="FF3300">Kirūn</font> trotted off quickly towards the south with Bober in tow. Choosing a small spot near a stand of trees where a large number of orcs and lay intermingled with a few human and elven, <font color="FF3300">Kirūn</font> knelt down with a grim expression on his face. Looking over at Bober, he motions for him to hide himself among the dead as best he can. Meanwhile, he smears himself with some blood and wriggles down into the midst of a pile of orc bodies while holding his axe carefully under him.

Bober listens to Kirun`s advice and do so. He covered himslef with some blood and lay down. He hoped that he would survive the battle.

OOC: sorry for the wait everyone. Here we go then.

IC:

Feldorn noiselessly moved amongst the trees and the sparse undergrowth. Then suddenly hearing a murmur of voices not too far away he motioned to Roland to hide behind some bushes. He himself advanced some more. Presently Roland could hear hushed voices speaking. A few minutes later Feldorn appeared along with two elves and a human female. He said to Roland: <font color=green>"We shall not have to make a last stand. It has turned out that they are friendly to our cause. Let us go back to the clearing the elves wish to speak with our leader." </font>

They went back to the clearing. From the edge of the clearing Feldorn told the others the same thing he had just told Roland in a few shouted sentences. As the group stood up from among the fallen Feldorn pointed out Turin to one of the elves, who walked overe to him. <font color=blue>

"My name is Halar. I know of your quest. Helbion a human ranger we had met told us of your group and requested our help in taking care of the orcs. I am sorry that he did not reach you after giving his message and I am also sorry that we did not manage to get to you before the orcs. I knew Elfalas, we had been friends once, but that was a long time ago. His death pains me much. If he saw you fit to lead the group then you are most certainly a great man. As much as we would like to help you in your mission our first priority is keeping these woods clean of those foul orcs. However one member of my group wishes to join with you. She is a healer and we have several other healers so after some discussion with here I decided that if you shall take her I shall let her go. She is called Robyn Stratsworth. We would really like to stay and help you but the orcs are drawing near. Do not worry about the orcs. We shall take care of them. Now only the decision whether you take on Robyn remains. I can tell you that seh has been a most useful member in my group and that she had saved several lives." </font>.

During the time it took the elf to say all of this Feldorn had been talking in rapid elvish with the other elf some distance away from the party. He walked up to Turin just as Halas finished speaking. <font color=green>"I have just learnt many useful things about the surrounding woods. There are many places to hide and routes which are safe. We shall be able to put this knowledge to much use." </font>

<font color=skyblue>Turķn

"Very well then. Robyn, in behalf of the surviving members of our force, we welcome you into it, under the recommendations awarded you by this good elf. I hope you know what you are getting into."</font>

Turning to Feldorn, he said

<font color=skyblue>Then if there be a safehaven nearby, let us claim the best one that would serve as a base of operations for us. One that each and all of us could find again in attempt to meet up and regroup after our several tasks have been completed. Feldorn, lead the way if you will...</font>

Turning to the others he said,

<font color=skyblue>Pack your things...we are moving quickly. </font>

<font color=green>Feldorn

"There is an elven encampment just 3 days journey away from here which would be suitable. I shall lead you there." </font>

OOC: I'll leave a chance for everyone to post, but I do not plan anything interesting to happen on the way.

She nodded at Turin, her right hand grasping the knot of the knapsack swung around her shoulder.

"I'll do what I can to help."

As she waited to take the others' lead, she stood taciturnly, obviously at peace with not saying much and just 'doing', the way she had been functioning for as long as she could remember. Her gray eyes glittered a little as she took in the appearance of her companions, and the ghost of a smile touched her lips.</font>

<font color="FF3300">The burly dwarf grunted as he tightened his pack's straps. After quickly inspecting their new elven companion for a moment, he shouldered his great axe and followed Feldorn's lead at a quick pace, while humming quietly to himself.</font>

OOC: @ Cienden: mistral's character is human not elven

IC:
<font color=green>Feldorn</font>

He led the way through small, hidden paths in the forest, while the rest of the group followed. As dusk was starting to fall he called Turin to the front with him. In a soft whisper so that no one else would hear he conveyed the following message to him: <font color=green>

"I was not only told of safe routes and safe places by the elf back there. he told me that there is a traitor in our group. They found this out by capturing one of the orc scouts who had told them that they knew our group would be passing the way we did. I did not want to say this to the whole of the group since I did not want to reveal to the traitor that I knew there was a traitor. The orc scout they had interrogated had told them too that the traitor had not fallen during the battle since the orcs knew that there were some survivors left. I do not know who this traitor is, but it could be anyone."</font>

<font color=gold>Hrolf

"Eh.. Therlion... could you get rid of this great sword from my side? Its not too comfortable." </font>

Bozos of Bones 03-19-2004 03:02 PM

<font color=silver>"Offcorse. I just thought it would be gone by now. I have been experimenting with other magical powers and I've never conjured something like that with a lasting of over half an hour."</font> Therlion motions his hand and grabs the greatsword. It quickly disappears <font color=silver>"But is is interesting. See, my axe disappeared shortly after I got up, and your greatsword persisted. I'll try and practise it more. In my free time."</font> He extends his hand and a pebble flies to it, levitating steadily about an inch above his open palm. He finished his thought <font color=silver>"When I'm not practising teledirection".</font> He smiles and grabs the pebble.

The group arrives at the elven encampment two days later. After a few days of resting during which everyone heals fully and rests the party is ready to leave. On the eve before leaving while everone is sitting together having food Hrolf asks Turin: <font color=gold>"What are the exact plans then? Are we really going to split?" </font>
