after leaving the tavern in the town you travel through the countryside for days trying to reach the town of syracee. after a very tiring journey, you finally reach the mountains. the journey is very demanding and you decide to rest the night in a nearby cavern, as you can tell a snow storm is approaching.
once inside you realise that the cave you are in leads into the darkness....

(ooc as i said before untill we find a dungeon master it is a free for all game. feel free to take control of any monsters as long as they are not important to the game..ill control those .normal D+D rules no ubering)

lythiss looks into the darkness of the cave.... hiding in the shadows he proceeds deeper into the lair.....a moment later you hear a muffled cry and then lythis walks out with a dead goblin.

"theyve made a lair...managed to backstab this one without causing an alarm. i think it is best if we try to stay quiet untill the storm stops, as there are a fair few down their... looks like they have had the same idea as us...they look like scouts"

dark looks at lythis nods and then proceeds to the body of the goblin, which hes picks up and throws to his wolf. then turning towards the group he says" whts do you think we should do?"turning to lythiss he says" how many are we talking about, im gonna have a look" with this he turns and then mutters some words and dissappears.

Legolas 10-17-2002 07:02 AM

Krak, sitting slightly away from the others, merely shrugged. He'd killed Grobi in the past, and he could do so again. The real slaying wasn't to be done here, unless there was a manticore or something similar waiting in one of the other caves. He kinda hoped there was.
The first day gone, and already he disliked this expedition.
He made a mental note never to go on any journey involving kind elves, snow and a lack of large and challenging creatures to slay.

Now that they'd come across goblins, he figured a decent fire would be out of the question too. Not that the goblins wouldn't find them anyway.
The dwarf leaned back against the rock and tried to get some rest. This close to the cave entrance, the sunlight would help discourage the Grobi from attacking. And he wanted to be rested when they did come.

The slayer didn't bother to inform the elves though.
Let them run around doing their Elgi things, they woulnd't listen to a Dwarf anyway.

Calaethis Dragonsbane 10-17-2002 07:06 AM

Calaethis tags along, but remains in the shadows.

DarkAngel 10-17-2002 08:21 AM

as the night goes on the storm grows, and in the distance a faint roaring can be heard. suddenly the cave closes as the ground shakes. in the destruction a bright light suddenly appears and the party knowing they have no other option follow it. the deeper into the cave the party goes the louder and louder the roaring gets..and as they weave through the tunnels they stuble into the lair of the goblins. as they catch their breath hundreds of goblins run towards them, led by an Elf.....a drow, sythuiss,a great drow sorcerer from the underdark....

DarkAngel 10-17-2002 08:37 AM

lythis taking his elvern bow glorien, fires an arrow of fire which engulfs a party of goblins;screaming in pain whilst burning. then upon seeing the drow curses and casts mirror image. then focusing his power casts meteor shower towards the drow.

sythuiss looks timidly at lythiss then casts protection against the elements upon himself. he then summons forth a pit demon towards the party.

dark takes out the elvern sword purchased and brings it crashing down on goblin after goblin. angrilly he looks towards his brother and runs to help against the pit demon whilst attacking orc upon orc. roaring the pit demon advances towards them and swiping at lythiss growls. suddenly the wolf launches himself onto the pit demons back biting and scratching.

lythiss takes this oportunitie to fire an arrow towards the balors throat. it hits, and the balor screams, but it does not seem to be strong enough to kill. looking towards the rest he turns back again and tries his luck

Legolas 10-17-2002 08:59 AM

OOC: Ehr, who said the no ubering part again?
Sorry DarkAngel, but that's too much for me
(although it's not an uncommon level of play in BG2, in my opinion it is a little "uberish" to make five or six characters fight hundreds of goblins, and a pit fiend, while making it look like only a mildly challenging fight)

Krak'll sleep this one out at least

OOC: it's hard for erilyn to not look like an uber-fighter. she is a darksun elf. 10th level fighter with a 20 strength. this is not just a character i threw together for the boards, she is my character for over a year of gaming in rl. she has some really kick butt swords as well as two weapon fighting style and ambidexterity. in other words she hits twice with each sword each round and does about 40 damage with each sword each round. she also has some spiffy wild talents.

ic: erilyn sits and watches the fight. when she is needed she will help, but for now she will comb her mane. apparently even snow makes it frizz.

DarkAngel 10-18-2002 05:37 AM

(ooc hey im tryin my best here o.k ive never done this before im only using the kind of action they put in the game. thats why i asked for a DM...) would one of you like to Dm then?)

Legolas 10-18-2002 06:08 AM

OOC: I would DM, but I don't think we're expecting the same from this game. You see, I kinda linked Bugmann's bar and Joseph Bugmann to the Warhammer Fantasy world (reinforced by the originator's screen name Felix Jaeger), whereas the rest of you seem to be playing in a DND setting. I was expecting Skaven and Goblins, maybe a lost Dark Elf somewhere (roughly the equivalent of the Drow), and Krak's a regular slayer (meaning he would have about a 50% chance of winning a fight against just six goblins).
I'm quite sure now that's different from what you're expecting, so after the fight, if he's still alive, I'll come up with a reason for Krak to return to the bar. Maybe next time

RevRuby 10-18-2002 08:08 AM

OOC: sorry i'm not dming type, i'll ask my husband if he'd like to. i understand being new, i'm just barely not new. i can't promise nathan will want to, he's dming a ravonloft campaign on here and i beleive the stone continues, unless that is done freely, i haven't a clue. but i will ask him.

legolas-maybe if you explained what you were expecting more we'd be able to incorporate your gaming style. i love learning new things, and tho i may be hesitant in rl to learn new gaming styles, i can edit any embarassing mistakes made on here. as far as taking on 6 goblins and having a 50% chance to win, i kinda understand. my lovely elf seems to be able to bounce back from anything. but then again when we rl game she has two mages, a psionicist and a cleric helping. well the mages don;t always help....okay way off topic. if nathan says he'll dm maybe you and darkangel can pm him and he (being a very creative dm) can work things out for us. it is hard to do much wihtout someone controlling. just look at the elves vs dwarves battle. in less than 3 pages the forest and the caves were destroyed. that was uber! anyway.....

Legolas 10-18-2002 08:42 AM

OOC: Nah, it's okay. I seriously doubt mixing the two settings would work out, so I'll keep Krak in the bar for now.
Your party may meet another (proper DnD) character later on though, as I've no doubt this could get interesting

RevRuby 10-18-2002 11:06 AM

sorry to say we were turned down. he has like 5 or 6 things on here he's involved in. poor guy works too. maybe if we asked for help elsewhere.

250 10-19-2002 05:22 AM

Do you just wanna fight goblins?

"Oh there goes." the old man turned a blackened face towards you, the chains on his dirty wrists rung a small noise. The sleeves were torn off, and he supported himself against the old brick wall with his bony hands. It was all quiet outside, but you could smell the excitement mounting with anticipation.

He whispered excitedly with a dried voice "Look! It is happening!"

A terrible scream pierced through the night, you shuddered at its indication. Several more screams came, followed by a crowd's "woo" and "ahh". The old man made a sympathetic face, and swung his head to you briefly, "come on! Don’t miss the show!"

Intrigued, you peeked through the iron bars. The lower half of a body flailed in the air like leaves being carried by wind. A gigantic shadow, towering over the bonfire, of what appeared to be a serpent chewed on it. The huge reptilian head shook viciously, and you saw the body bent in violence. In responds, several cheers shouted as each time the body makes a snapping sound. The bonfire jumped with each cheers, and the cheers grew with each passing seconds.

Finally, the dark serpent head rose in the air, and relaxed its jaws then snap it shut in a fluid moment. The body enlarged the serpent's mouth, then throat, and then vanished. The whole crowd, the entire tribe of Spearsharp, arose with insanity. Crazed shouts of worship and submission shook your quarter vibrantly, and you saw many of the goblins bent on their knees, and many more climbed passing the others trying to get close to their 'God'.

"Ahhhhhhh" the old man muttered sympathetically, unable to hide his excitement. Disgusted and disturbed, you sat back on the dark, filthy floor. The noise seemed to be distanced by the walls. "Are you," you asked the old man in disgust, "are you entertained by this???"

"Yeah," the old man turned to you and cracked a toothless smile, "because tomorrow night I will be up there."

this is an introduction. your party (bounty hunters, mercenaries, sellswords, or whatever adventurers) was captured by the Spearsharp tribe and witnessed the ceremony. the story start from here, that is IF you want me as a DM. I have another game running right now, so I will make this game short. It will be a short adventure for level 1 party, but I will make it fun.

if I pass, as a dm, then I will post my rules on character.

(ooc yea thanks mate that would be great.....)

RevRuby 10-22-2002 11:24 AM

i'm up for it! tho i may not use erilyn if the modifications to her character are too much. her deal is as is. but i can come up with another.

250 10-24-2002 10:53 AM

so just the two of you are playing?

Calaethis Dragonsbane 10-24-2002 05:47 PM

I'll play. provided of course... well, no, it would be nice to have more players tho

RevRuby 10-24-2002 07:32 PM

last time i talked to dark angel he was unable to post. but said he got no email telling him why he's been banned. i dunno what's going on

250 10-25-2002 03:06 AM

Yes Yes Yes!!! Tivoli theatre still show movie the Spirited Away... so I still can see it, don't need to feel bad about oversleep now, lol :D

alright, since I am so lucky, I am in good mood, everyone gets... well, no bonus.

1. Of course, you pick your character name, gender, class and race. nothing too fancy. that means no planar destroyer or psonist. all basic ad&d classes are allowed, but not all kits.

2. Stats: 18, 16, 16, 14, 12, 10
You can distribute these five (did I say five? damn, must be drunk, six) stats on Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligent, Wisdom and Charisma anyway you like.

3. Saving throws, Fortitude, Reflex and Will. you can look up on your phb if you have one, or I will just do it for you. if you do it yourself, you get +1 bonus on one of the three saves (you choose).

4. Hp, you start with max HP

5. Items: you start with no items, you are prisoners, remember? and no familiars unless you can roleplay one well.

6. Background: a well written, detailed background is the first step to great roleplaying. exp bonus or HP bonus.

7. House rules: you will see during game plays. I have quite a few house rules, but nothing unfair.

that said, I will go back to drinking now. I am not an alcoholic, just a little beer helps me sleep. I dont want to stay up and miss the movie again

RevRuby 10-26-2002 09:06 PM

DarkAngel 10-27-2002 04:31 PM

so are we gonna play and if so how many people do we have at the moment.

250 10-28-2002 08:04 AM

of course, I will DM. but it would be nice if you guys take some time, and make a character you dont want me to make the characters for you, do you?

Calaethis Dragonsbane 10-28-2002 05:10 PM

*sigh* Pm you the char? tell me, does this sound okish?
Race: Elf
Gender: Male
Class: Ranger
(do I have to include age?)

Stats:

Str 16
Dex 18 (that should be 19 with racial bonus)
Con 16 (15 with racial penalty)
Int 12
Wis 14
Cha 10

does that look ok so far?

vampyress-of-shadows 11-08-2002 11:07 AM

she has followed the party out of curiosity seeming to glide her long flowing blue dress washes over the ground. she glides into the shadows she is unsure of what to do so she stands still partially hidden by the shadows. She will revieal herself whe she is detected and only then.
