NOTICE The Wide-Eyed Wolf is never going to take new members.

Two of the fall, tears gleam silver-white, for hope of the wood, and past of the night.
One where they stand, a spirit of blue, o' tortured his soul, to guide them all through.
One collects shards, in forests of green, chaos shall reign, destiny careen.
I am the last, who seals their fate, I stand paid in red, afore the black gate.

-The Sealed Fate-

We all know why we're here and what characters we are to play, correct? Sephi, you and I worked out your character. Larry, you'll begin as your parents. Mistral, you and I will begin at the battle of Seregduin (aka the battle of blood river) as our fathers. Neb, I'm sure you've schemed something up by now! In any case, this will run just like the One-Eyed Wolf. Except this time everybody will have a few more characters. We've got to weave an entire past, so use all the NPC's you like. (I myself will start out with about 62. Heh heh heh...) Ummmm... Well, ya'll know what to do! Let's begin!!

THE WIDE-EYED WOLF

Cyrus Nightblade
The half-elf moaned as the light sifted through his unwary lashes. His long ears collected a quick, soft gasp and rustlings on nearby ground. As his cobalt eyes adjusted to the brightness, a nimble hand reached quietly to his hip. He sighed relief, the muscles in his shoulders relaxing. His katana was there, and life was good because of this. Now visually coordinated, he looked around. A human cleric was hunched nearby, a pensive expression on her face. Cyrus leaned to get up. The cleric's warning hand came too late and the half-elf hissed in pain. Clutching his side, Cyrus slowly lowered himself back to the nearly worthless pile of musty blankets. His dark blue eyes narrowed at the edgy priest, one of his blue-black eyebrows raising on high. "What happened?" The priestess held out a peace-offering hand. "Sir, you were wounded in the battle." The half-elf scoffed at the young woman. "Well why am I still wounded then child? Is it not your job to heal?" The priestess nodded quickly, a hot flush coming over her face. "Yes sir, b-but our stocks have run very thin." Cyrus sighed. "Where's my pack?" The cleric pointed to a far corner of the tent. "Over there sir." Cyrus nodded. "Right. Be a dear and get me one of the green bottles from the top pocket." The priestess obeyed, however cautiously, and handed the bottle to Cyrus. He eagerly uncorked it and gulped it furiously. Tossing the glass aside to break, he leapt to his feet agiley. The cleric looked on in awe. Cyrus took his pack without a word, drawing out his katana. He shot a quick grin to the woman before striding out of the tent.

When outside, Cyrus immediately grappled the shoulder of the nearest sea-elven soldier. The fighter grinned wide when he saw the half-elf "Ai! Cyrus you damned mongrel! I thought you were dead!" Cyrus offered a smirk in return. "I know it dissapoints you Earros." Cyrus paused, then continued with some urgency. "Ah, but tell me of the battle Earros. Is the overgrown lizard dead yet?" Earros reluctantly shook his head. "I'm afraid not friend. After two monthes of open assault the thing seems unscathed." Cyrus growled, eyeing the smoke on the horizon. He knew it was from the battle. He turned back to Earros. "Where is Captain Brenner?" Earros looked a bit queasy. "Six feet under I'm afraid. Aragorn's in charge now." A puzzled look crossed Cyrus' face. "Aragorn? Hmmm... All right, fetch me my horse Earros. And hurry!" Earros stood stock still, smirking at Cyrus. "What do I look like? Your personal attendant? Pfh! You can catch your own damned horse Nightblade!"

He wore a weary frown on his lips, walking around the tent absently ~ May the Gods be merciful and grant Cyrus his life... ~ Then stopped in his tracks, half-smirking at the ludicrous thought ~ He'd never go down without a fight. I'd almost bet my life he's up and about, probably ready to charge here right away. ~ The rustle of the flaps jolted him back to attention and he turned to face a young lady.

A lock of her auburn hair fluttered defiantly despite the neatly pinned bun ~ "Aragorn, we've received the latest news…" ~ The words dying in her lips as she chanced upon his expression ~ "Is there something to laugh at?" ~ Her glittering green eyes hazarding a ray of affection in his direction ~ "I swear, any joke would be welcome in such trying times."

"No, Ursula. Unfortunately there is no jest… you had something to say to me?" ~ His penetrating gaze fixed upon her perfectly oval face ~ As always, my trustworthy companion… she is certainly an asset to her father.

"… the news is that Cyrus was seriously injured while we diverted our enemies' focus." ~ Unable to suppress the tinge of contempt in her voice ~ "These elves… or half-elves, whatever! They can't do anything right, can they?" ~ Flushing at Aragorn's disapproving look ~ "I mean, well, we've suffered enough casualties here! It can't have been for nothing, can it?!" ~ Oh please, redeem me in his eyes. Anything but that disagreeable stare… it hurts more than words of rebuke from him.

"Ursula, I need you to understand this: Cyrus is a good friend of mine, and will always be. I will not stand for you to insult his race, much as I respect your views on other issues." ~ His voice quiet but firm. Moments pass before he exhales deeply ~ "Come, let us forget this frivolous matter. There are far more important matters that await us." ~ He grasped the hilt of his long sword and strode out of the tent energetically, determined to ignore the pained expression on Ursula's face.

Killing Spree 05-07-2002 10:50 PM

~The nearby body of water was teeming with the sea-elven cavalry, all mounted on river dolphins. A dolphin won't do me a bit of good right now! Growling frustration under his breath, the half-elf darted across the elvish encampment. In a sea of five foot blue-green heads he couldn't find a bright chestnut, seventeen hand horse.~ "Neogyth roch!" ~He hissed in aggravation. At this rate I'll miss the whole thing! Skidding to a stop from his quick pace, he surveyed the area frantically. Noticing a small elvish woman leading a horse, he grinned.~ "Right!"

~Dashing toward his target, Cyrus relied mindlessly on his dexterity. Three feet away, he made an agile leap and landed on a bewildered horse's back. The woman turned around with scorn on her face. Cyrus cried out, not because of the horse's rearing, but because of the lady before him.~ "Elanna!" ~He swallowed hard, gripping the black steed's reigns firmly in his hands. The woman was petite and pretty, having shimmering emerald hair that ran to her hips, and watery blue eyes, but more importantly, she was Cyrus' fiance. Cyrus cried out again, calming the horse.~ "Elanna, lovely! What are you doing here?!" ~Elanna, hands on hips, glared up at Cyrus.~ "Chasing after you Cyrus! Now tell me why you're taking my horse!" ~Cyrus stammered, the proud man nearly crumbling beneath the woman's eyes.~ "Well-! Loveliest Elanna, I need to get to the battle!" ~Elanna scoffed.~ "Why?! You've done your fair share! Why do you have to go back and get yourself killed?!" ~Cyrus winced, the mare was picking up on his nerves and taking edgy steps back.~ "Dearest, I can't let the humans have all the fun!" ~Elanna growled.~ "Cyrus! War is no child's game! When are you going to grow up?!" ~Shrugging with a helpless grin, Cyrus wheeled the horse around and sent it off at a gallop. He called out behind him.~ "When it becomes profitable!"

Lorath groaned as he passed another collapsing pillar. He had been in the dungeon for only three hours and already he could tell that this chamber was about to fall apart. That thought, he decided that he would have to get the treasure in a hurry, he couldn't spend more than three days without cutting it a bit too close. Sighing, he tightened his studded leather armor, which was dyed dark red with bright green, and kept walking down the dark path. The rewards would be worth it though, as he had heard about a powerful sword at the very end of the labyrinth. With that on his mind it was easy to tell how the spiders almost got the jump on him, but luckily the elf was quick on his feet and hands, and he was able to draw his sword and hack the arachnids in half before they could do any damage.

For the fourth time in the last hour he sheathed his sword and let his mind wander off again. When he escaped this dungeon he would just have to show his new sword to his twin sister in Ravenwood! He couldn't wait to see her blue eyes light up at the sight of the magical blade! With a smile he continued down the next path, a narrow corridor with stone fragments falling from the walls regularly. Even though he did his best to dodge them some of them still fell on him, which was a huge annoyance.

Suddenly the path split. He had to decide which way to take, and he didn't have forever to do it. Since he was feeling a stronger pull from the right he decided to go down that way in search of the sword. Nothing in the next room, he noted, but there are always more rooms in dungeons like this...

ooc: could we be on a first name basis? :D it'd be more comfortable, I think...

"Fine… have it your way…" ~ Muttering under her breath, she followed him briskly, her eyes shooting flames at those who dared to look in their direction ~ "Regroup and prepare for battle!" ~ The steel in her voice ringing in the air.

Aragorn paused momentarily, for just a second ~ She'd make a fine leader, no doubt about that. ~ Uneasiness creeping into his eyes ~ Our men must have a leader; the problem now is, who is the one? ~ Shaking off the disturbing seed of doubt, he nodded affirmatively and barked out his orders as well ~ "We will stand united and overcome the enemy! To arms, my men!" ~ Without waiting for the men to fall in, he hurriedly made his way to the next tent, leaving Ursula to take over.

"Cousin Aragorn! Is it time?" ~ The lithe mage's lilting voice greeted him, instantly soothing his nerves ~ "Good thing I've a number of spells left to release on those detestable creatures." ~ Her face was so serene that he wondered if she had cast a spell upon himself, that he should forever calm down when he set his eyes on her ~ "Yes, it is time, Fantine. How glad I am that you're here." ~ Anxiously continuing as he detected a blush on her cheeks ~ "You know how level-headed you are all the time, and I wish I could always be as steady and dependable as you and Ursula."

She cast him another gentle smile, shaking her head ~ "Do not underestimate yourself, Aragorn. We all have our strengths and weaknesses… but this is not the time to talk about them." ~ Grabbing her quarterstaff, she signalled for him to lead on ~ "Let's hope our enemies have been severely weakened. We need to strike while they're unprepared."

As they emerged from the tent, Ursula joined them, an uneasy smile resting on her lips ~ "Good. We're all ready then." ~ She rested a slightly trembling hand on Aragorn's right shoulder ~ "Your call now, Aragorn."

Gritting his teeth, he nodded grimly and turned to the remaining troops ~ "To battle!"

Lorath pushed a white vine out of his way, and he saw it. An ornate treasure chest was on the floor, and on the wall at about level with his eyes was the blade, the beautiful longsword he had come down here in search of. Carefully, with two shaky hands, he picked it up off of its display hooks and took it in both hands. Then he hacked away at the chest, cracking the lid in half like a breaking bow. Hastily he threw the lid's halves to the side and took the things in the chest; about 200 platinum pieces, some obviously special black boots, and an astonishing sapphire and diamond ring. He pocketed the ring, bagged the platinums, and placed the boots on his feet. Before he could do anything with the sword though, he heard a thundering roar to his left.

A golem had sprung out from the wall, obviously the guardian of the treasures. Lorath took off the way he came at a full gait, the golem following in hot pursuit. They reached the large, crumbling chamber, and Lorath started weaving in between the columns. Before this could go on for too long the golem smashed every column in his way, bringing the entire chamber down. But before Lorath could think that he was in the clear, the golem appeared in front of him. Apparantly it had teleported before the roof came crashing down and was blocking his path. He let out a loud groan in frustration and did a somersault between the golem's legs, barely avoiding its stomping foot. Without looking back Lorath took off up the ramp and into the next level.

He made it out, almost unscathed except for a shard of stone lodged in his left tricep from when the second floor collapsed in behind him, this time burying the golem under the rubble. Quickly Lorath summoned his horse and he set off for Ravenwood, where he had much unfinished business to take care of.

ooc: time for sleep now, g'night!

OOC>>>Does anybody need a Link to the Past? This thread is the telling of the history of the swords by Spree as she taught Larry about what he knew of his father's stories and adventures. I be damned if I know where the thread is that named the fate of my father and mother...or if I ever named them. If I cannot find it, then I will make it up as I go. Is that fair dinkam?

************************************************** *******************

He crept along the dark hall silently and carefully, holding his breath for good measure. After a dozen paces, he would stop, exhale, draw new breath, and continue onward. He was near the bedroom. The door would squeak if not opened properly. Luckily, he knew this door well, and with a perfect effort, opened the door soundlessly. Now he was perspiring. The bed lay only a few feet away. He could feel his heart racing and his excitedness was causing his knees to go weak. He stopped and tried to calm down. He tried to remind himself of how easy the task was...just a few more feet and he would have her! He was ready. Now, ready to pounce like a ferocious wild beast, he steadied himself, bent his knees, and jumped onto the mass, grabbing the huddled form beneath. Yet, someting was wrong! He jumped up and felt around. She was not here! It was a pillow and an old mop that had been placed in bed in her stead! Before having time to calculate a method of escape, a frying pan rang across his head. Down he went and the figure pounced on him, smirking.

"You'll never be as good as me!"

"Ouch! Did you have to hit me so hard?"

"Oh quit whining! You deserved it for trying to sneak up on me"!

"I can get my way into any village, whether it be elf, dwarf, or hobbit...but I can't even get one up on my own human wife"!

"Don't call me that until we are, silly! You will just have to wait until father consents."

"He never will at the rate I am going. He wants you to marry a nobleman, for crying out loud! I am but a poor farmer that happens to have some skills for adventure. My treasury is not from tax dollars or earned revenue...it is from hard work and long adventures! A man's way to earn a penny in this world"!

"Don't flatter yourself, my dear. You are a farmer and a thief. You are poor, but I don't need you to be rich to be my love interest! Just give father a little time."

"I have. I grow weary. I hear of some action going on up North this time of year. I may take a trip up there and see if I cannot find something of value. I will come back, pay the money back to your father that he borrowed to me for the farm, and then we will have our own land. Then, if he still says no...I will kidnap you and we will run away into the land of storybooks!"

"Now, you know how worried I get when you go on your excursions. If you feel you must, then I support you, and want you to be happy. Go on your trip then. And bring me back something."

"Then by your leave, I shall head out at first light, milady! We will be wed real soon. I promise! I will bring back such treasure as would render it unneedful to travel ever again!"

He dodged as the treacherous arrow flew towards him, grimacing as it grazed his left arm. Yet he held on to his blade as much as clung on to his life, swinging it across the upper torso of his attacker. Oblivious to the shrieks of agony, trumpeting and chanting around him, he watched with satisfaction as the body crumpled onto the ground, motionless ~ One less enemy to go. ~ That was all he dared to think ~ I will survive, if only to boost my men's morale. ~ Charging forward, he bore his sword down upon the unsuspecting victim ~ I must not fail them. ~ "Aragorn! Behind you!" ~ Yet as he turned around, the stalker had collapsed in a scream of outrage. He met Ursula's gaze comprehendingly and cast her a weary smile ~ "My thanks, Ursula." ~ Adding silently ~ I owe you, yet again.. ~ She blinked once ~ "You're welcome." ~ Then abruptly headed off, the mixture of emotions playing havoc on her proud and handsome face.

On his left, Aragorn could hear the curses of a wounded foe, presumably suffering from Fantine's incantations. Hurriedly, he pulled a dagger out and flung it at the crouched figure, for good measure. It struck home; it was one less enemy, again. ~ When will this end? ~ He raised his eyes to the heavens, tempted to rail his frustrations ~ Will it ever end, in the first place? ~ Billows of smoke and fumes swirled above, worsening the chaotic scene before him ~ Cyrus would surely see this, if he were alive. ~ There was no doubt in his mind that help would arrive… it was only a matter of time. Yet… ~ can we last much longer? ~ And then he realised his mistake. He grunted as he felt the stinging blow upon his back, just as he finally lowered his line of vision. Helplessly stumbling forward, he began to roll himself randomly about, trying to elude the flail that so persistently pursued him.

But there was little room to manoeuvre. Daggers, arrows and darts seemed to be dancing around him even as he avoided the villainous thrusts and lunges of blades. It was useless; his body was a map of bloody terrain and he would soon die ~ Cyrus, my friend… I've failed you. ~ Despair drove him almost wild in this state, and he screamed inwardly ~ I must not fail! ~ As his assailant stood gloating with upraised spear pointed towards his heart, he found his body frighteningly immobile ~ To die honourably is no shame, Aragorn. ~ He closed his eyes, waiting for the end…

It did not come, somehow. Instead, a wail of torment deafened his ears; he smelt burning flesh. Curiousity overcame exhaustion and Aragorn reopened his eyes to see a grotesque sight - one he would remember for many years thereafter. The blazing figure howled in anguish before finally crashing onto the ground.

Struggling to sit up, he felt warm hands hold his arms firmly ~ "There, there… you've had enough fun for the day. Admit it." ~ He started at the cheeky tone ~ "Who are you?" ~ Cursing his current condition that he could not turn around as easily as he would like ~ "Your saviour, and that is all you need to know for now." ~ He felt himself being dragged backwards away from the battefield. Babbling desperately ~ "Let me go! Code... of honour... I… I need to be here… with… men..."

"Code of honour?...What's that to do with your current state?...Don't be daft!" ~ She puffed and panted, almost giving in to her relative weakness ~ "Oh, forget it. Seeing as you're obstinate as a mule… here! Take this." ~ A dainty hand reached from behind to prise open his mouth, while another poured an icy liquid down his throat. He debated only for a second. There was no harm in swallowing it; if she had intended harm on him, she would not have rescued him… within moments, he was completely rejuvenated. Jumping to his feet, he spun around to gaze upon his samaritan. His mouth opened, but no words could rise beyond his throat.

Standing at five feet and seven inches tall, with long, raven black hair , a curiously stubborn lock similar to Ursula's. Twinkling dark brown eyes with light dancing feverishly in them. Most of all, that playful grin… it was almost impossible that his life should have been saved by a human-sized imp. ~ "…" ~ Still no words. He berated himself silently as she watched him with amusement.

"Well, well. Now that you're up and about again, I'll leave you to defend your honour. I must say, this Agannazar's Scorcher has certainly come in handy." ~ Giggling, she turned and began sprinting away, her merry laughter echoing in his ears…

The ride to Ravenwood was pretty uneventful. Even though it was a twelve hour journey nothing came out at him. Once he almost fell asleep from the boredom, but recovered quite quickly when he saw what had happened to another person who had fallen off his horse and gotten trampled.

When he arrived in the city he leapt off his horse and nearly forgot to tie it up before went off deeper into the town. His eagerness was well-founded though, as his sister was waiting for him feverishly. When he stepped through the door of her two story home she quickly wrapped him in a hug. "So, did you find it?" she eagerly asked.

"Yes, Lininna, I found it. And I'm fine, thanks." He smirked and she scowled, but both grinned broadly when he pulled out the sword.

"This must be it!" she exclaimed. "Congratulations!" she hugged him again, and Lorath returned the gesture. "You're going to keep it, right?"

"Of course," Lorath told her. "I wouldn't have gone through all that trouble just to sell the blade, would I? It should serve me quite well." He smirked, and made to leave.

"Where are you going?"

"I have some business I must attend to now, something that was left undone when I left three years ago..."

~Cyrus urged the mare on to a long-strided gallop. The two were but a flash of black and blue as they flew toward the battlefield. Cyrus rolled the stress from his shoulders, trying to forget Elanna. He was finding the task most difficult. This whole arrangement makes me damn sick... His dark blue eyes then flashed suddenly to the road. He could see the individual plumes fleeing from pillars of smoke. He tightened his legs around the horse, letting her jump fallen bodies as needed. The familiar smell of blood filled his nostrils. The ebony horse slowed to a high-stepped trot. The was was being waged on the horizon. Cyrus bit his lower lip uncertainly.~

~Seeing a wounded soldier hobble past, Cyrus flared for attention and gave the man a concerned and hurried look.~ "You there! Where is Captain Aragorn?" ~The man coughed, taking a moment to collect his breath and answer. Finally he replied hoarsely, pointing blindly yonder.~ "He's uh... *COUGH!* Uh, over there Sir...*COUGH!* dead I think..." ~Cyrus held up a compassionate hand, silencing the sickly man. He reached into his saddle bag and pulled out a small purple vial. He tossed it to the man.~ "There you go, friend. Take care." ~Panic now strewn across his face, he wheeled the horse in the direction the soldier had pointed. He set the mare off at a quick canter, looking left and right with keen elvish eyes. You can't be dead Aragorn! He was becoming hopeless when his cheek burned. The scythe was glowing furiously. Beaming, he leapt off the back of his steed, grasping her bewildered reigns and rushing to his target.~

"Aragorn!" ~The half-elf cried out, joy and relief flooding his face. Quickly looping the horse's reigns over a post, he ran nimbly to his friend, crouching down and getting him in a one-armed embrace.~ "You bloody son of a lich!" ~He laughed, recoiling with a hop and a wide grin.~ "I thought you were dead!"

Lorath walked across the town and came to a stop just outside the inn. He looked up to remind himself that it was the right place and strode in. It was the exact same as when he left. The place had always had an air of elegance about it, with low-burning candles placed frequently and oaken tables set in rows with chairs all around. Hard-wood floors peeked through from under thatched rugs, and the stairs had red carpeting on them. He had expected it to turn out from the beginning of the establishment though; he had known Aoln since they were just a few seasons old, and he had always had refined tastes. "Hello there Aoln," Lorath greeted the innkeeper. "How's business been doing lately?"
"Just as well as always!" the inkeeper answered. He adjusted his trousers and asked, "So, what brings you back to good ol' Ravenwood? More adventure? Or have you finally decided to take a break from that dangerous profession?"
"Oh, I just came back to show my sister the rewards of my last dungeon crawl," he told Aoln. "Say, is your sister in town right now?"</font?>
Aoln fixed him with a scrutinizing gaze. They were the same age, but he had always thought of himself as Lorath's watcher, someone to keep him in check. "Yes, in fact she is. Why would you happen to ask that?"
"Oh, no reason." He winked after that and continued, "It's just that she always seemed like a very... interesting young elf, and I would like to get to know her better."
"If you wanna dater just say so! Nothing to fear from me, I assure you. She's upstairs fixing herself up for the day, I can go get her if you want."
" Please do." Lorath smiled and sat down at a table while waiting for Aoln's sister. He waved a waiter away and leaned heavily on his palm. She always did spend a lot of time getting ready...

"Huh?... Oh... hi, Cyrus." ~ In a daze did he meet the elf's embrace, flitting images of pixies and imps lingering in his mind. Yet the force of the hug brought home a gush of warm relief and he met Cyrus' concerned gaze more intently, his grey eyes glittering ~ "Heh, you'll have to forgive this casual greeting... bloody is right!" ~ Surveying the carnage around ~ "Everything's a mess with Brenner incapacitated, and I... well, I'm almost completely flummoxed." ~ He gave a youthful grin, followed by a mock scowl ~ "Remind me again why we're doing this."

ooc: SEPHI!!! :D Hi there bud. Uhm... I play the entire village of Ravenwood, so I'll be posting with you as well. ;) Barkeep's sister's name is Anaquei. Oh! And the tavern is The Fox's Den. Sorry if you didn't want intervention, but I really can't stand to see you marry yourself AGAIN. That would just be sad!

~Cyrus chuckled, the characteristic growl hinted in his voice. He firmly grasped his friend's shoulder, his cobalt eyes glowing like blue flames.~ "We're in it for the glory!" ~He grinned.~ "Well, we were anyway. Looks now like we're here to get knocked around." ~He shot a quick glance behind before returning his gaze to Aragorn.~ "So... Are the lizardmen any weaker?" ~He smirked.~ "Or have I not been unconcious long enough."

Anaquei Stormwhisper
~The druid heard a pounding on her door. Growling beneath her breath, she lay her hair brush down and called out, calmly as she could muster.~ "What is it?" ~Aoln meerly informed her that she had a 'visitor' whom was patiently waiting downstairs. The maiden's bright green eyes widened. She muttered to herself.~ "Well I wonder who that could be..." ~Shrugging, she quickly grabbed a small strip of leather, tying her long golden hair back into a ponytail. She stood up, eyeing the mirror with typical elvish pride. She smoothed her simple ivory shirt, and tightened her belt within the loops of her long sage skirt. Running a hand over her hair one last time, she stepped out the door. Once outside of her room, she quietly approached the balcony and peered over the edge to watch the people below. When she saw you a wide grin crossed her face, but she supressed it and walked cooly down the stairs. She cleared her throat and swayed to the counter, smiling sweetly at her brother.~ "Aoln, who has come to call this early in the morn?" ~Aoln grinned and gestured to you.~ "He stands behind you my sister! ~Anaquei turned around, smiling shyly.~ "Well good morning Lord Lorath! I daresay I'm surprised to see you back so soon. Are you..." ~She cleared her throat.~ "Are you in between adventures?"
(ooc: This reminds me of a Blink182 song. :D And then I saw her standing there, with green eyes and long blonde hair, she wasn't wearing underwear, at least I prayed that she might...)

"They'd damned well better be." ~ Furrows formed on his eyebrows as he peered more carefully around ~ "I know we've lost a number of our most able men." ~ Suddenly inhaling sharply from a disturbing sight ~ "Your pardon, Cyrus. Someone's in trouble."

Abruptly tearing himself away, he rushed towards his target ~ "To the Abyss with you lot!" ~ The tip of his blood-stained sword gleamed in the ferocious sun, flashing intermittently as the blade launched into an intricate dance ~ I hope she's alright. ~ After what seemed an eternity, the vile beasts fell backward, some of them stunned from the assault, others lifeless ~ "Fantine!" ~ She staggered on her feet, blood trickling from the incisions on her pale skin ~ "Th… thank you… cousin." ~ He held her protectively with his right arm, his left still wielding his blade against the monsters. Whispering ~ "You need rest."

"I'm fine." ~ Her frame seemed to shiver from all the endurance she was putting up. Murmuring to herself some ancient words which he knew would be those of magic. Soon enough, a tingling sensation brushed against his own skin as the ground shook slightly, a layer reaching out to encase his cousin ~ "You're sure?" ~ Somewhere nearby, he could hear Ursula's yells ~ "Yes, yes." ~ Steadying herself, she chanted, creating small glowing discs in both hands. As the enemies advanced again, she began to pelt them with the minute meteors, scorching them into agony.

"Down with you slime!" ~ Ursula now struck out with full force and a new fire. She seemed quite possessed, oblivious to her own wounds and aware of only one desire - to eliminate all which stood in her way. Aragorn shouted a warning to her as an arrow whizzed from behind; but that was her undoing. At the sound of his voice, she turned to face him, her face glowing, then crumpling as the shaft punctured her stomach. With a cry, she dropped her bastard sword instinctively and floundered on her steps.

"No!!!" ~ Aragorn sprinted across now, screaming at himself for his folly. As he reached her, he grabbed her left arm with his right, sweeping his sword in deft arcs to flick off the arrows raining upon them ~ "Move it, Ursula!" ~ Pulling, dragging her, gritting his teeth, blotting out her involuntary moans ~ "CYRUS!!!!"

At last he could see the elf ~ "Please, save her!" ~ Shoving the feisty redhead into Cyrus' arms ~ This is crazy… we're all going to die… ~ But he kept these depressing thoughts to himself as he wearily turned back to the battefield.

Back towards his grave…

Cyrus Nightblade
~Cyrus nodded his head grimly, looking with a concerned countenance at Ursula.~ "Just hang on... Let's get you out of the way..." ~Surveying with pursed lips and edgy eyes, he pulled Ursula as gently as he could to some grass that was yet unstained by blood. Pillowing her head with his knapsack, he examined the grevious wound in her abdomen. He muttered beneath his breath.~ "Sweet Sahinine... You're lucky to be alive... H-here..." ~He nimbly prodded the wound with his fingers, attempting to be as gentle as possible. A friend of Aragorn is a friend of mine. He began to hesitantly tug at the imbedded arrowhead, wincing as the woman cried out in pain.~ "I'm sorry! Please, hold still. It'll only hurt for a bit, I promise!" ~The scythe on his cheek glowing furiously, he pulled out a curved dagger, taking the arrow out like a splinter in a finger. Strands of his blue-black hair fell in his eyes. He pushed them back with one hand, keeping his eyes focused on the wound.~ "Almost... There!" ~He triumphantly dislodged the arrow from the woman's stomach. But by now one of the lizards had been drawn to the smell of blood. Cyrus motioned for the woamn to stay still as he clamored to his feet, pulling out his glowing blue katana.~

Lorat quickly stands up and gives a quick bow to Anaquei. "Yes, m'lady, I'm between adventures, for a little while at least. I made enough off my last one so that I can settle in for about a year, so you'll be seeing plenty of me in the near future." He couldn't help but smile at this, and he could see that she was having a hard time too. "So, Anaquei, would you prefer to grace myself with your presence today with a walk through the forest? Trust me, I won't complain as much as I used to, I was much younger and more immature then than I am now."

mistral4543 05-08-2002 11:28 PM

It was not as bad as he had envisioned, he now saw. True, there were still a number of lizard men up and about, but he realised with vast relief that several of his accomplished fighters were still alive. With revitalised energy, he leapt forward, cutting down the creatures as well as he could. The erratic heartbeat hammered his head incessantly whenever his subconscious thoughts drifted to Ursula and Fantine ~ The women of my life… ~ It struck him as odd that he could have come up with such a phrase ~ Magnificent beyond compare. ~ He could have added "in spirit", for he knew all too well as Fantine had mentioned, they had their weaknesses too.

Ahead, he thought he saw Fantine's faltering steps and they exchanged glances. No! ~ Instantly, he knew the problem: she had run out of spells and would soon be slaughtered within seconds. Try as he could to reach her, he found himself facing three large ogres ~ Damnation! ~ Now caught up with dodging their blows, he prayed silently to his god to protect her… fortunately, the ogres were clumsy, though having massive strength. He goaded them, drawing them away from the area, yelling ferociously. To his delight, help soon arrived - Jonathan and Arthur almost collided into his path and they despatched the creatures with combined effort.

The path now clear, he dashed forward, his legs aching in the pursuit. But he stood gaping now, his face turned ashen.

Fantine was nowhere to be seen.

Cyrus Nightblade
~Cyrus, standing tall and proud, issued a taunting hand to the vibrant green lizardman.~ "Come on! Carrion eating bastard!" ~The lizardman, obviously offended, charged at the half-elf with his spear. A prepared smirk on his face, Cyrus leaped to the side, slashing at the less dexterous reptile. The lizard shook off the blow, quickly regaining its bearings and thrusting at the half sea elf again. Cyrus held his katana in front of his face, blocking the blow, but falling to his knees. The rogue swallowed hard, looking up at the monster, who was now preparing a final strike. With a show of grace and speed, the man flipped up, kicking his oponent in the stomach. Finally convinced that the lizard was a worthy foe, he whispered something to his sword. The katana shot from his hands, mercilessly slashing at the reptile. The lizardman, exasperated, decided to make one last charge toward Ursula. Nightblade called out.~ "Incarak! Band rant!" ~The sword held out its blade flat, momentarily blocking the lizard's way. Cyrus, a determined look in his eye, pulled out his boomerang dagger. Suddenly, TWAP! A blade through the throat and the lizard died painfully. Incarak, the blue katana, held the creature in a skewer. Dusting off his hands, Cyrus strided up to the corpse, tossing it backwards away from Ursula. Finally he commanded.~ "Incarak! Bar!" ~The blade flew back into its sheath at Nightblade's hip. Sighing, Cyrus then suddenly remembered Ursula. He pulled out an emergancy healing potion from his cloak, and offered it to her with a weak grin, not saying a word.~

Anaquei Stormwhisper
~Anaquei began to nod her head, but winced back at her brother.~ "Aoln, are you all right running the tavern?" ~Aoln shooed her away with a flick of his hand.~ "Of course! Go on, have fun!" ~Anaquei chuckled in her soft melodic voice, pulling a stray strand of hair back behind her tapered ear.~ "Well then Lorath, I suppose that settles it! Let's be off!"

"Aragorn, what's the matter?"

Still he stood dumbly, his face white ~ Where are you, Fantine?! ~ The thought of the impending fury of her family - Arthur included - sunk his heart ~ They trusted me, and I've let them down. ~ An assertive slap on his right shoulder pulled him back to reality and he faced Arthur regretfully ~ "Fantine... she's... gone." ~ Disbelief still apparent in his eyes ~ "I swear, Arthur, I saw her but a few moments ago." ~ His voice edgy with panic ~ "I tried my best to reach her..."

For a moment, his companion was silent, the expression on his rugged face bordered on beserker rage. But just as abruptly, he let out a heavy sigh and replied, eyeing his friend wearily ~ "What's done is done, Aragorn. Come, we might as well clean up this place." ~ They walked briskly towards the remaining combatants ~ "Bloody hell, Aragorn! You convinced us to do this... even Brenner... and he's out of action... Fantine's missing..." ~ The struggle in his voice was obvious ~ "It'd better be damned well worth it." ~ And he fell silent, venting his frustrations ferociously on the unsuspecting creatures.

Aragorn bit his lips furiously; the tint of his iris darkened considerably ~ They're right... Ursula and Arthur... I dragged them into this. ~ His clenched fists trembled nevertheless ~ Did my pride cause this unnecessary bloodshed? ~ He glanced in Cyrus' direction to see him pouring a liquid in Ursula's mouth ~ I did it for friendship! I swear to the gods!

He ran forward now, towards the pair, suddenly feeling his heart shrouded with an unexplainable gloom.

If this friendship should fail...

~Cyrus looked up as his friend approached, smiling weakly. The red scythe on his cheek glowed a greeting.~ "Hello my friend." ~His voice was somewhat trialed and weary. He recoiled the bottle from Ursula's mouth, propping her up gently. With a sigh, he turned his gaze back to Aragorn. His blue-black hair blew on the wind and into his eyes, covering up the sunken nature of them. The war was taking its toll on the half-elf. He forced a grin up at his comrade, exhaling wistfully.~ "When all of this is over..."

mistral4543 05-09-2002 09:26 PM

"… we'll find someone else's bone to pick with." ~ His lips twitched somewhat, and he suddenly realised how tired he himself was ~ "As far as this battle is going…" ~ In the distance, he heard hoarse shouts of tired victory ~ "… I think we've won." ~ Absently reaching to hold Ursula's arm ~ "… but as far as the long-term war is concerned…" ~ He sighed and paused for a moment before continuing ~ "… we need a better plan."

"What is it that you really want, Cyrus?" ~ Ursula's husky voice drifted from below, distracting both men ~ "You mentioned of injustice, oppression and evil." ~ Refusing further aid, she props herself up on both hands ~ "That is what brought Aragorn to your cause." ~ Her eyes narrowed briefly ~ "If it's glory that you want… or worse still, loot…" ~ She closed her eyes tightly, her body rigid with tension ~ "… then I would say Aragorn has been the fool."

~Cyrus looked at Ursula with a puzzled, almost wounded expression. Does she question my loyalty? Or my credibility? A rogue I may be, but I am no coward! He rolled his jaw once, calmly supressing what fervent emotions had arisen. Now he looked Ursula straight in the eye, his own cobalt orbs turning distant. His tongue was apathetic.~ "I would say, my lady..." ~He tried his very hardest to keep words civil. There was no use in causing scuffles because of childish name-calling.~ "That your views of my intent are incorrect. I was born beneath the waves of this very river, lest you forget." ~He tactfully scratched at the sparse silver-blue scales on his neck.~ "I fight to preserve my home. When all is said, there is no glory in this. Only lament, and friends left unburied. And-" ~He paused, raising one of his blue-black eyebrows.~ "Were I interested in loot, I would have sold that potion I gave to you." ~The corners of his lips turned slightly downward.~ "My intent is fair, and my only wish is to live long and hopefully prosper with good friends as Aragorn." ~His eyes narrowed cooly.~ "So now it is my turn to ask, Lady Ursula... Why do you frown upon me so?"

mistral4543 05-09-2002 10:10 PM

She returned his gaze levelly, her eyes shining with pride ~ "I judge by actions alone, Cyrus." ~ Deliberately ignoring Aragorn's urgent nudge ~ "You asked for help and we gave it freely…" ~ Her eyebrows arched momentarily ~ "… yet you arrive here by yourself, with no further support." ~ She shook her head a little, sending wisps of her auburn hair undone from the bun ~ "Were you so presumptuous as to think your lone effort would tilt the battle in our favour?" ~ Her cheeks reddening ~ "Or perhaps, it was a case of over-confidence; you thought we would have settled the war by ourselves." ~ Sighing now ~ "I do not know what to think of your actions, Cyrus; that is why I question you."

Aragorn watched both his friends anxiously, yet he held his tongue. Saying anything further would worsen the situation. He threw an irritable glance at Ursula, feeling uneasy as he caught her returning hurt look. Then hazarded a glance at the half-elf.

Killing Spree 05-09-2002 10:40 PM

~Cyrus' throat ached from holding back roars of frustration. His eyes quickly averted to Aragorn, the look saying 'Watch her drinks for poison.' He was unable to mask the growling hint to his voice as he shot venomous eyes at the woman.~ "I am not here alone, Ursula." ~The muscles in his shoulders shuddered as he said her name, the scythe on his cheek flaring.~ "You ignore the blood that stains the water. We sea-elves wage the battle for our domicile here, in hopes to wash our shores of the evil that plagues this place." ~He inhaled deeply, keeping his voice controlled and stinging cold.~ "The actions of my people are far more noble than you and your sanctimonious ideals, Ursula." ~He tilted his head to the side.~ "For the things we fight upon this field do not swim." ~He hissed quietly.~ "This battle is for humans, not for aquatics. I came to you so you might help us help your own kind. And if you have no consideration for your own people... For any decent people on this field today! If you hold no compassion, if you must wonder why you are here... Then perhaps I should not be the one in question."

mistral4543 05-09-2002 11:01 PM

This time, he reacted in time, gripping Ursula's arm tightly till he felt her shudder ~ "Enough already, Ursula. Much good has all this talk done." ~ Coughing awkwardly, he faced his friend, the hue on his cheeks rather unpleasant ~ "I know this is hard for you to swallow, Cyrus..." ~ And that's an understatement! ~ "... Ursula is just peevish from all the fighting and bloodshed..." ~ Silencing her protest with an icy gaze ~ "Come, the battle is over for now. Let us tend to the wounded."

The waves of the half-elf's unquenched hatred almost choked his last phrase.

Lorath smiled and put his arm around Anaquei's waist. "Don't worry, we shouldn't be more than two hours." He winked at Aoln, then walked out the door and toward the woods north of town.
"It's been a long time, hasn't it?" he asked when they arrived at the edge of the woods. "What all's been happening with the town? Any new developments, has anyone actually done anything besides me?" He let out a quiet humming sound and looked up at the treetops while awaiting her answer.

Cyrus Nightblade
~The muscles in Cyrus' shoulders spasmed, a tell-tale sign that he was stressed. Walking away from you and Ursula without a word, you heard him growl beneath his breath.~ "Oh yes, I'll tend the wounded. I pray they'll be more grateful than that harpie!" ~His fists clenched tight, he began surveying the crimson stained ground for survivors. Hearing a moan, his head snapped to the side. Beneath a layer of mud and blood, he recognized a familiar face. The half-elf cried out wildly.~ "ARAGORN!" ~With a frantic expression, he stooped beside the fallen person, digging her out of the surrounding grime and carnage.~ "Fantine! Hang on little one, I'll get you out! ARAGORN!"

Anaquei Stormwhisper
"Ravenwood's been pretty sleepy..." ~Smiling, she rested her head on your shoulder.~ "The baelnorn just summoned up a band of green warders... Merrick and Lowell set up some odd traps around the graveyard... And Li's been dishing out new rangers by the dozen. It seems at the rate we're protecting ourselves, nothing will ever happen here." ~She sighed, obviously a bit disturbed by the lack of action, but managed to grin up at you.~ "Though Illuna's managed to stir up some trouble! She-" ~Anaquei's words were interrupted as an unnatural cry echoed through the pristine forest. Anaquei yelped and jumped timidly behind you, clinging to your arm. Out of the brush leaped Illuna Ravenwood, a look of dissapointment on her face.~ "Oh drat. Sorry Lorath, I was hoping to-..." ~Then she noticed Anaquei and grinned.~ "I say Lorath, you've got a bug on your arm!" ~A wily smile on her face, Illuna pounced at Anaquei, pulling her off you in something between a hug and a head-lock.~ "Ana! What did I tell you about wandering around with strange men?!" ~The two druids were like sisters, so Anaquei just grinned.~ "Oh I'm sorry Luney! It seemed like a good idea at the time!" ~Illuna glared at you from the corner of her eye, then grinned, whispering loud enough for you to hear in Anaquei's ear.~ "Well he is kind of cute..." ~Anaquei blushed, nodding her head in agreement.~

"Fare thee well, my husband to be. Don't do anything stupid and get yourself killed or captured by something!"

"My dear, hell's gate's could not keep me from your side! I shall always return. I will be back in time for Spring planting, and I hope to find some new varieties of seed on my adventure. It's always profitable to have the only vegetable of it's kind in the region."

"You spend too much time thinking up get rich quick schemes...and most of them involve stealing a dragon's hoard. Do you even think that you will ever even see a dragon?"

"I know they exist, somewhere...and one day, I shall find one and get it's treasure...but until then, I will have to settle on more meager ways of doing so."

"Well, off with thee, then. I will never be able to talk sense into you. Gods above know that I hope our children would never be cursed with your bumbling attitude and lifestyle."

But Marian!...that is what you like best about me! Surely I would want my son to inherit such a fine attribute! We shall talk on it again in the Spring. I love you!"

"I love you, too...Daniel Silverfall."

~They kiss softly, then Daniel turns and begins his long journey to the Northern Countries.~

mistral4543 05-10-2002 11:53 PM

At the horrified cry, he raced towards Cyrus, his frustration at Ursula quite forgotten ~ "Sh... she's alive, isn't she?!" ~ Finally daring to breathe as he saw the faint rising of her bosom ~ "I didn't wish to bring this up just now... not under..." ~ Breaking off abruptly, his eyes completely on his frail cousin.

"We need healing urgently." ~ A touch of despair in his voice ~ "My camp's out of supplies..."

Killing Spree 05-11-2002 07:31 PM

Cyrus Nightblade
~Cyrus looked helplessly at the woman, collecting her shuddering form up in his arms, not daring to look at his distraught friend. He blinked.~ "There's no time to run Aragorn. She'll die before we get back." ~Cyrus took a deep breath.~ "I'll heal her. I'll take her wounds as my own." ~The scythe on his cheek glowed. He shook his head to any protest his friend made.~ "There's no other way."

~Cyrus then lay Fantine down gently on the ground, taking another deep breath. He chanted in elvish until the red scythe glowed vibrantly.~ "Gurth tumbalemorna, nay! Gurth gwaith n' tumbalemorna, nay! Ny Celebring anna Sehanine, anna gwaith, anna atar!Melyanna hoth sereg Ny wen!" ~Closing his eyes to avoid the bright light on his face, he lay his cheek to Fantine's motionless face. You watched in awe as Fantine's wounds dissapeared, and Cyrus' flesh rotted and bruised to your cousin's previous likeness. At last Fantine was fully healed, sitting up and looking around dazedly. Cyrus coughed and clutched his side, staggering to his feet and backward. He grinned at you re-assuringly and said hoarsely.~ "Now who needs a cleric?"

His jaw dropped at the sight before him, his voice a mere whisper ~ "By all that is mighty and good..." ~ Blinking several times ~ "... how did you do that?" ~ Then turned to see the fatigued half-elf, his eyes darkening considerably ~ "Cyrus, I... I don't know what to say.... except, thank you." ~ Choking on his words, he could not continue. Instead, he reached out with his left arm and gripped the right of his friend firmly, his hand slightly trembling with emotion.

"Er, hi, I'm Lorath," I introduced myself. "Seems like you two have already met though." I smile and take Anaquei under my arm once more. "Tell me, who are you to interrupt our liesurely walk through the forest? Obviously her friend, but not one I've met before." I'm happy I could help." ~He looked to Fantine with a widened smile.~ "And all is well if you are well!" ~He paused, then added with comic anxiety.~ "You are well right?!"

Anaquei Stormwhisper & Illuna Ravenwood
~The spritely younger elf chimed, offering a wide sweet grin.~ "Well I'm Illuna Ravenwood!" ~Her emerald eyes glimmered mischievously as she boasted.~ "And you're walking with my Ana!" ~Anaquei interrupted with a firm look.~ "Well you're going to have to learn to share, little cousin!" ~Illuna scowled at Anaquei.~ "Oh stop calling me little! I'm a hundred and two and I'm taller than you!" ~Anaquei rolled her eyes.~ "You're only a hundred and you're only an inch taller. NOW... Stop this foolishness and let us go." ~Illuna stood stubbornly.~ "I want to come with!" ~Anaquei's eyes narrowed.~ "Illuna, please! Would you want me following you around if you were talking to a man?" ~Illuna gave a disgusted look.~ "I don't like boys! You know that!" ~Anaquei sighed.~ "Well, yes! You don't like boys! Why do you want to walk with me and Lorath then?" ~Illuna persisted.~ "Because! I just want to! OK?! It's a free forest!" ~Anaquei finally gave in with a shrug.~ "Well fine, Illuna. You can walk with us." ~She smirked.~ "But I'm afraid I'll be horrendous company today." ~Anaquei smirked, looking at you from the corner of her eye.~ "It's terribly hard to kiss and talk at the same time." ~Illuna looked completely appalled.~ "Eeeeewww!" ~She rolled her tongue in disgust.~ "I don't care how cute he is, that's just gross! You're going to traumatize all the animals!" ~Anaquei looked thoughtfully at a nearby tree.~ "Yeah, I guess that is a concern... Say! Why don't you shape-shift into a rabbit? Then we can start with you! Come 'ere Lorath!" ~Anaquei turned to you with a smirk, puckering her lips. Illuna cried out, dashing the opposite way through the forest.~ "Ewwwwwwwwww!!" ~When Illuna was out of sight, Anaquei started laughing hysterically, putting one hand on your shoulder for support.~ "Oh that was great! I wanna make a portrait of it!" When we had both calmed down though, I took Anaquei's chin in my hand and our eyes met. "I'd still like to cash in on that offer, though." The serene smile on Fantine's face spoke for itself ~ "Couldn't feel better, Cyrus." ~ She spoke unhurriedly, her glittering eyes fixed on his pale face ~ "I would say 'thank you', but I fear that would only cause you to cringe further." Behind her, she heard Aragorn's chuckle and a flush spread over her cheeks, halting only as she sensed some tension between the lady-warrior and the half-elf. Clearing her throat, she added ~ "Won't you join us to our camp, Cyrus? I do think you'd benefit from some rest after your rescue operation."

"Indeed." ~ Aragorn now joined in crisply ~ "You wouldn't insult me by refusing to let me play the humble host, would you?" ~ Infinitely glad of Fantine's easy ways ~ If only Ursula were half as skilled as her in her social etiquette... ~ But it was not fair to think of such uncharitable thoughts. Already he felt her burning gaze upon his back and he stepped forward, swinging his left arm around Cyrus' neck ~ "Shall we?" ~ And gestured broadly towards the direction of the camp.

But before the group of four even took a further step, a blinding light had engulfed them. As all members sought to blot out the brilliance of the rays, they heard girlish giggling in the background.

"Enjoy your little trip, O mighty honourable knight!" ~ The teasing tone shot an arrow through Aragorn's heart ~ That voice! It's her again! How the devil could she have known... ~ The laughter grew softer and softer, till it was no more. Around him, he heard oaths of surprise and now he blinked his eyes open, his own jaws dropping a second time for the day.

They were at the entrance of the camp, even the bewildered horse.

"You know that person, Aragorn." ~ Ursula was watching his reaction too closely for comfort ~ "She brought us here, because of you." ~ Two factual statements he could not deny; but then, why in the heavens should he? He had nothing to hide! Finding himself bristling with annoyance, he nodded, his facial muscles quite tense.

"Whoever you are, thank you." ~ Fantine whispered softly, glancing around almost helplessly ~ "That was a teleport field spell..." ~ Her voice wistful ~ "I really ought to beef up my spell list."

"Everyone alright so far?" ~ Aragorn drew a deep breath, then motioned for all to follow him ~ "Let's do the talking where we're safe - in my tent."

Anaquei
(ooc: Awwwwwwwwwww... Hee hee...)
~A surprised shiver initially ran down Anaquei's backbone, but after a moment she relaxed. She closed her sage eyes. As you grew more zealous, she wrapped her arms around your neck, tracing the nape of your neck and sending shockwaves down your spine. After what seemed like a too-short eternity, Anaquei recoiled and rested her head on your chest. She looked up at you with round, content green eyes.~ "I guess it's a good thing Illuna ran while she still could, hmm?" ~She smiled, hugging you around the waist.~

Cyrus
~Cyrus nodded and followed into the tent, silently picking at his new-found wounds. He sat down in the corner, folding one leg up to his chest and letting the other one sprawl. After a moment he hissed and looked up at his friend.~ "Aragorn? Do you happen to have some bandages?" ~His weak grin turned to an involuntary grimace.~ "A few of these are going to need stitches... At least until I can get back to the elves." ~He cowered as the ladies entered the tent, trying to hide the greusome wounds. Don't want to get anybody sick!~

"Yes, I'm sure she just would have DIED if she had seen that!" I put my arm gently over her head and place my hand on her shoulder, and slowly I pull her away from me and resume walking side-by-side with her. "Tell me, what else has happened in this sleepy town? Surely my return isn't the most exciting thing that's happened in the last cycle!"

Daniel Silverfall

He pulled his cloak about him a little tighter. It had been two weeks since he left his home and his fiancèe. The Autumn had fast approached this season, and Winter was already around the corner. He would have to make it back home befroe Spring in time to start his seeds in the ground. Yet, he was now doing what he loved. Out on an adventuer, seeking fame, glory, dragons, honor...everything was now his to realize and make happen. He had been sleeping on the ground for the past two weeks. He was used to it. For years, he had been travelling here and there...but neer had Daniel Silverfall ventured so far North before. This would be a new adventure in weird lands where it took much effort to even stay alive. He was ready for it. Whether foolishness or bravery, he was ready. Onward he marched, whistling a tune that he'd picked up somewhere before.

OOC>>>Spree...Did you ever get that PM message from me about this???

Relenting a little at the sight of the wounds, Ursula turned to rummage through the medical supplies, her nimble fingers deftly picking out the bandages, thread and needle. Tossing them at Fantine, she spoke somewhat coldly ~ "Take them." ~ She turned to face the wall, her wretchedness gnawing at every muscle of her taut body. Giving an impatient hiss, she began to tidy up the room, ignoring the ludicrousness of the situation.

Fantine's eyes widened, then she crossed over to the half-elf, sounding a little embarassed ~ "Come, let me help you dress the wounds, Cyrus." ~ She knew she sounded doubtful, in fact she felt like gagging ~ The blood... ughh... ~ Never had she seen so many gaping open wounds as to render her nauseous. Her fingers trembled as they held the supplies, reaching towards Cyrus' injuries.

"Let me, Fantine." ~ He strode forward, crouched down, then began to administer the stitching and bandaging. When all was done, he leapt back to his feet and managed a weak smile ~ "I take it we'll need more time to recuperate... do you still want to talk about when we should strike again, and how?" ~ Absently running his fingers along his dark brown hair.
