Rate em peeps!

1) Disevolving One: Doppleganger. Dis-Evolving One (DEO) is NOT a copy (pun!) of Larry's Xerox.
Deo is as his name implies, is degenerating. He (we believe its a he) doesnt have a solid cellular structure, and thus, he can shapeshift. He also has the ability to alter certain values such as density, can raise the temperature and be unaffected, and even gravity. The shapeshifting goes way beyond a regular or even Greater Doppleganger. He can be as pethetic as a flea or as strong as a god. The god aspect, is questionable, as the aspect itself is a constant strain on Deo's mind, thus rarely ever transforms into anything above Demigod and even Half god status.
He can also transmute his limbs into any sort of weapon he's seen or heard about.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.

2) Ankaah: Half-Fiend Lich/Psion. Ankaah was a lich first, as you can tell, and he was fascinated by psionics when a group of psychic warriors and psions attacked him. He found he was immune to their attacks, and blew them away with Comet. He trained his mind to the point were he could do all psionics. Now with newfound powers, Ankaah ravaged the Planes like a madman, with his mental prowess complimenting his arcana, he was unstoppable! A band of adventurers managed to put Ankaah on the run, and drove hime out of the town and land.

Oh yes, these aren't overpowered at all. If you can find one DM that would allow anything with even an eigth of that power to be in one of his games, well, you have some lenient DMs in your area.

Tiamat 04-01-2002 11:35 AM

You use sephiroth and the Masamune so I wouldnt talk. I usually am fair. You and Neb are the uber ones. I play honestly now, and yu use all the magic and arcana that I dont know about.

K T Ong 04-01-2002 11:56 AM

Can you show us some pictures of your characters, Tiamat?

Tiamat 04-01-2002 03:38 PM

Lavindathar 04-01-2002 03:51 PM

You talk some grade A horse shit.

Them characters are super powerful! DM's across the world wouldn't accept you, even Mr.Blind DM from Dumbsville, who had a braille PC would turn you down.

Ok, dude, I've never really spoke to you, but you're reputation has preceeded you!! You're the UBER God, and no-one likes it. Why don't you just simmer your characters down a couple of hundred levels, instead of inventing fantasy's.

And how can you call Neb or Seph?

Talthyr Malkaviel 04-01-2002 03:59 PM

Lavindathar's right Tiamat, and saying that they use Arcana you don't know about doesn't make them uber, it just means you should ask politley or find out for yourself.
I mean, I don't play PnP, the closest I've ever come is CRPG's and this board, and plenty others haven't either, it's no excuse.

Err... from what I've seen, neither of them actually does anything that's uber-ish... they actually rp... and don't have characters that transform into gods... besides, it doesn't matter what the spell is or whether you or I know it, so long as it's not over-powered and the affect can be understood. *shrug* Just my thoughts...

TAOWolf 04-01-2002 04:55 PM

What everyone is trying to say, Tiamat (and you have been in here long enough to have understood by now :D ) is that UBERING is not aloud, you can't just counter everything thrown your way, and keep creating characters when you get killed.....

:D You have to play fair (or silly whichever) but you can't just enter threads and start doing whatever you want (Waterdale thread).

A good suggestion would be to actually read some of the threads to see how people are role-playing them, and then ask to join, and come up with a realistic character.........

Tiamat, do you mind me asking a question? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! Ubering is where you avoid dying at all costs and when you do die you come up with some lame excuse to keep on living, or just create a new character even more powerful than the last. I don't uber, I get help from other people to assist my abilities with spells and plus I have admitted defeat when it was rightfully given. If you don't know about some spells, just ask us and we'd gladly tell you the effects. Ignorance is no reason to complain, at least not in my mind, if it's brought on by the complainer.

Cloudbringer 04-01-2002 05:36 PM

Ladies and Gentlemen, this has become a personal griping match and as such I want it to go to pm. You have the alternative of discussing the issue calmly and without casting aspersions or insults on each other personally.

I will gladly discuss the issue in pm or im as needed. I expect we can find a solution and hopefully soon. I will be in and out of the forum tonight and will be on tomorrow evening as well. I will check my email and pm's too.

Speaking from the stand point of a WAY lenient DM, those are nice NPCs you got there - they'd make great bosses to fight at the end of a couple of long campaigns. But they would be a bit much as starting characters. And a good DM would always have a bigger baddy to bring you back to Earth (or whatever planet you are on currently) I remeber once that I made the comment about being a bad A$$ once. I was quickly teleported to the Abyss and went hand to hand .... more it's hand to my head, my head to the floor .... with a PrinceLord Demon...right before I had my head ripped from my shoulders, the DM passed me a slip of paper that said, "and you wake up in a pool of sweat, learning the lesson that no matter how big or bad, someone is always smarter/faster/stronger. IN RPG, it's the strength of the whole, not the strength of the unit...

Words of RPG wisdom. Just have fun. It's much harder to win with a weak character than a Strong one....

sorry folks but from the standpoint of past DM as well as player these characters are absolutely ridiculous. I could be like ok well my character is a 1/2 god which makes him invulnerable to any earthly weapons and magic. the only thing that would be able to even harm him would be one of the diamonds off of bhall's old mace, which is currently missing, but proposed to be somewhere in the lower planar region in some sort of private planar rift, controlled by my character. until that mace is recovered by someone else my character is invincible.

now that was some absolute crap. Roleplaying that character wouldnt even be fun. And if you would find it fun then maybe this type of roleplaying isnt what you are looking for. you'll want to shadowkeep yourself a character in BG2 or something. IMHO

K T Ong 04-01-2002 08:36 PM

Sad that there should be so much politics even in the world of role-playing...

<s>I agree with Cloudbringer.
We don't need arguments in here.
If you have a quarrel with another player,
take outside this forum.

Since people continue to post after Cloudy's request, I need to lock this up, plus the fact that we have two threads on this forum about the same thing.</s>

This is a difficult conversation to handle, and I hope that you will take Cloudy's offer and mine to help out in explaining what Uberism is and how it causes such strife.

Ok...I have been thinking and listening to counsel and I have agreed to open this thread back up, as well as leave the other thread that has arrived from General Conversations forum.
We really need to talk openly about the issue, since it seems that some members wanna leave the forum instead of allowing us to clear matters up.

Note>>>Do not give up hope. Let Cloudy and I talk to each of you about it, and we will have this place available for everyone to enjoy. This sorta thing takes a bit of effort to work on.
