GOOD LUCK

It was a cold day and the members of GOTH were meeting in their guild house. The chilling wind outside was biting and the horses in the stable were whinnying, wanting their owners to get them oats or to take them to somewhere warmer.

The members were enjoying a brandy, talking about their latest adventures. No one spotted the dark figure crouching in the window high above the ground. Suddenly, a rope dropped down to the ground and the figure slid down it. He ran over to where Barb was sitting and seized the sword of Ryn. The most sacred item to GOTH had been stolen. The figure in black ran out of the door and leapt onto his lean, black horse. The horse ran like the wind and was out of sight within only a few seconds. No one could do anything.

Barb walked over to the window where the rope was hanging.
“This rope, it has a green shine to it. Only the Antiquians make rope like this and they live deep in the heart of a volcano in the middle of Churchland. We must find the sword.”

With these words, an adventure was started.

Sir Exxon 12-01-2001 06:34 AM

<font color="yellow">Sir Exxon jumped on his horse.</font>
<font color="red">"Come on, Barb! We have to get the sword back."</font>
<font color="yellow">A cold wind had started to blow, and the rain fell heavily. Exxon heard his leader Barb yelled at his men, saying that they had to move.
Soon the entire clan sat on their horses, ready to go after the dark figure.</font>

see ya!

Dresdan 12-01-2001 07:57 AM

With a slight chill running through him, Dresdan sits atop his stead. He looks around at the others of his guild that are mounted beside him. In their eyes he sees the same look that they must surely see in his, anticipation and anger. Let us ride to this Churchland and reclaim the sword with all haste, we shall teach whomever done this that the GOTH are not to be triffeled with.

SecretMaster 12-01-2001 03:05 PM

"Before we leave, lets check the area for clues. A good thief of no doubt, very skilled. But even the slightest clue could be vital, and good thieves tend to be nervous in their job, so they could be reckless"
SecretMaster walks up to where the horse was.
"look, tracks. He could of stopped somewhere to rest and be hiding. These hooves are quite odd, not made of a regular horseshoe or hoove. Hmm, I remeber a black horse like creature called a Nightmare, this could be one. And I know only one place where one person would make Horseshoes for these, a smith named Corain. I'll go find him, you guys continue your journey, I know where the volcano is"

Barb 12-01-2001 03:18 PM

Tahnkyou SecretMaster. We will continue onwards and meet you in three days time. On your travels, find Fagujak the wizard if he finds this green rope odd, its definately Antiquian but theres something strange about it.

Sir Exxon 12-01-2001 03:26 PM

<font color="yellow">Hmm, let me take a look on that rope.
AHA! I have seen alot of these ropes in my travels up in the cold north!
Yeah, I remember that the barbarians up there made them out of gras dipped in the blood of their fallen enemies! A disguisting way to make ropes, but that way they will hold much longer.</font>

see ya!

SecretMaster 12-01-2001 03:31 PM

"Will do Barb. And Thanks Sir Exxon, though I feel it imbuned with magical energy. Barbarian shaman magic is my guess, but why would they use such a thing. This means I'll be delayed Barb, cuz i'll be finding Corain and Fagujak, and i'm sending a most trusted assistant to travel up north to investigate this rope. I'll have to travel to the place he's staying at, so i'll be back in 3 or 4 days. Well, better get going"

Barb 12-01-2001 03:32 PM

Why would 'it' have used this instead of normal rope? It had to slight a build to be barbarian.

Dresdan 12-01-2001 03:34 PM

Good luck SecretMaster, may your journey be a safe one.

Dresdan 12-01-2001 03:36 PM

Is it possible that "it" left this behind on purpose.

Barb 12-01-2001 03:45 PM

<blockquote>quote:</font><hr>Originally posted by Dresdan:

It's possible, lets go. It's a long journey ahead of us. *Barb starts his horse at a gallop and rides off*

Sir Exxon 12-01-2001 03:50 PM

<blockquote>quote:</font><hr>Originally posted by Barb:

<font color="yellow">Well, I am not a detective, but my suggestion would be that "it" used that rope to fool us.
Hmm, listen to this:
SecretMaster said that he feels magic around it, and Barb says that the creature wasnt a barbarian. So I think that the creature made the rope out of magic, and made it look like a barbarian rope, to make us believe that some barbarian did this. But Barb saw that it wasnt a barbarian, which wasnt a part of the creatures plan.
So basicly, I think that a master spellcaster is behind this! And I know only of one spellcaster like that, named Fer'Gjurdan, a mind flayer mage, who lives in the city of Herjand.
So I suggest that SecretMaster goes to his "contacts", one of us stay here and watches the guildhouse, and the rest go to Herjand!
How about that, Barb?</font>

see ya!

Barb 12-01-2001 04:00 PM

Sounds good. But if we lock up the guildhouse it will be safe enough. Now that Ryn's sword is missing, there is nothing valuable in there.

Dresdan 12-01-2001 04:06 PM

OOC>>Guys just a suggestion here. May be we could have an order of play so that we don't cross post one another. If someone has to leave they just OOC us that they are going then we don't wait for their turn to post, and same coming in they just OOC us and where ever their OOC shows up is the order they must now post.

Morgan_Corbesant 12-01-2001 05:00 PM

Morgan strides into the room cooly, and looks over the rope. "i feel that this was left here as a diversion" he says. "whoever did this WANTS us to think it was the barbarians". "i have looked outside for clues, but i cannot seem to find any. if i can find some tracks or something, i can haste the party, and get us in that direction ALOT faster." " i cant tell what tracks are our, and which are his however"

Madman-Rogovich 12-02-2001 12:15 PM

WHAT!!! Madman was furious this smuggling fool had the audacity to offer him such a meagre price for the blade YOU idiot by now i am being followed i shall take this blade of ''ryn''to the highest bidder.....better be worth it those oth knigts would surely kill me for his insult

Dresdan 12-02-2001 01:18 PM

Morgan, I think hasting the party sounds like a good idea we just need to decide which direction to go. Although tracking sounds like a good idea, I think it would be a bit difficult if hasted. Why don't we agree on a course of action then you can haste us in the direction we decide. Barb, Sir Exxon as guild, and deputy guild leader I beleive the decision is up to you to in this matter. And I will gladly follow you both wherever you decide to lead us. With the sunlight waning Dresdan, patiently looks to his guild leaders for their words of wisdom.

Barb 12-02-2001 02:18 PM

ooc>> Igore madman, He obviously didn't read that this was for GOTH only.

IC>> We shall head for Churchland and hope for the best.

SecretMaster 12-02-2001 02:20 PM

Whats an OOC????

Melusine 12-02-2001 02:40 PM

<blockquote>quote:</font><hr>Originally posted by SecretMaster:

Sorry for butting in here but you look like you need some questions answered.

OOC means Out Of Character, IC means In Character

Dresdan - the suggestion you made would be quite helpful. Most online roleplayers do it like this: whenever you want to add to the thread but you're afraid someone else might beat you to it and mess up your storyline, simply post a message saying "MARK". This will indicate to the other players that you're about to add your reply, and they will wait for you to finish before posting themselves. Meanwhile, you can edit your "MARK" post and write the reply you intended. Save the edit, and the others will be able to continue. Think that would make your game easier

Have fun, guys!

SecretMaster 12-02-2001 02:53 PM

OOC>Thanks melusine! I now get it!

Dresdan 12-02-2001 03:12 PM

To Chuchland then with all haste.

OOC>>Thanks for the "Mark" tip Melusine that will help me alot in the future, because I think that I'm the worlds slowest typer, and by the time I get my post in i'm usually way out of sinc.

Madman-Rogovich 12-02-2001 03:25 PM

ooc: sorry thn guys thouht yal might want to expand a little never mind

Morgan_Corbesant 12-02-2001 04:58 PM

going to his room, Morgan collected all of his gear. straping his sword to his back, he met the rest of the party outside. after reciteing a few sylables, the spell was complete, and the horses could now get them to their destination twice as fast as the fastest horse. "To churchland then, and may Ryn protect us!!!!"

Morgan_Corbesant 12-02-2001 04:59 PM

i feel that we need a page to post our characters on. that way, everyone knows who is who, and who is what. then we will know who has what spells, what equipment, and the like. we will also know who has what abilities, so that we can better make suggestions for others. what do you guys think?

Dresdan 12-02-2001 05:58 PM

Atop his nobel stead with his knees gripping tightly, his long hair flowing in the wind behind him, Dresdan rides with a look of grim determination. May Ryn have mercy on thier souls, because in this endevor we will not fail, he who now possess the sword shall perish by the blades of the GOTH!!!

Barb 12-03-2001 10:18 AM

OOC>> Go to Characters GOTH only in Roleplay and post them. Noroleplaying there, just post characters special abilities (nothing imossible like instant kill of turn to dragon) Good luck

Your concerned friend:
Dresdan

Morgan_Corbesant 12-03-2001 02:31 PM

sorry Dresdan, but many a person (not this forum) has said that he is a BS character, so i wanted to clarify that from the get-go. again, i appologize for any harm done !!!!!

Dresdan 12-03-2001 02:39 PM

OOC>>No harm done whatsoever friend. :D

IC>>Yelling over the sound of the thundering horses~Hey guys, We've been riding for quite awhile why don't we look for some place to set up camp for the night.

Barb 12-03-2001 03:45 PM

Agreed, we shall stop over their. *Barb points to a large clearing in the middle of a large clump of trees*

SecretMaster 12-03-2001 04:00 PM

OOC>My guy, he is kinda overpowered, but i don't make him in campagins.
SecretMaster, the masked thief level 23
HElmet-Mask of the Secret-SecretMaster's prized possesion, it can change into any face he sees for 1 day.
Armor-Armor of the Secret-A most prized thief suit, SecretMaster uses it everywhere. He can easily blend in and camaflouge due to the magical nature of this armor.
Gloves-The gloves of the Secret- Highly sought after by many thieves, these gloves can easily pick through any lock. They also leave no trace of hands being used in a crime.
Boots-Boots of the Secret- Another prized possesion, these boots make the perfect assassin. It silences all steps takin by the user, making targets an easy pray. Though what gives away the assassin is the glow it makes in the dark.
Weapons-The Sword of the Secret- Probably a great weapon, it has the ability to poison the enemy struck by it, and has a 20% chance of paralizing them along with poison.
Bow of Accuracy- This bow can be found at many great weapon smiths. It has a little eye target so the bow firer can easily kill off an enemy.
These items are ALL made up, and by the way, my guy isn't super strong.

Dresdan 12-03-2001 04:17 PM

Slowing his horse from it's breakneck speed, he turns the noble stead towards the clearing.~D**n if my backside isn't as sore as all get out.~Dismounting his horse, and rubbing his aching backside~I'll go gather some firewood.

SecretMaster 12-03-2001 04:18 PM

IC> As everyone sets down in camp, they see a black rider coming towards them. Everyone draws weapons, but then they realize its only SecretMaster.
"I have some big news. I visited Corain, but when i got there, I was too late. It was closed down, supposedly Corain was murdered the day just before your sword was stolen. He was suspected missing, and I snuck into the shop to look for clues. I found Corain lying in the basement, tied up. He only had very little life before he died and he told me that someone came, attacked him, and took some swords, and horshoes for his Nightmare. He also informed me that he was talking to himself, saying that he was going to be in a house located in a small village named Uvaring, located in churchland, right by the volcano. I also tracked down Fagujak, and he talked about the rope, and studied it. Indeed, its barbarian, but it has magical powers from barbarian shamans. Shaman's from a tribe called DeathBone. They make trades with many shadow and dark creatures, and evil men. These ropes are often sold to demonic or evil thieves, who then use it to steal very sacred items, such as your sword Barb. The properties allow the thief to slide down the rope silenty, while magical grease on the rope lets the thief double his running speed. That would explain his agilness. So I guess a group should head to Uvaring, while the rest head towards the mountain. There could be more to this. I have sent "accomplices" to the North to find out what trade these shaman's made with the rope."

Aragorn1 12-04-2001 11:10 AM

A horse and rider approach, Barb fires an arrow narrowly missing.
the rider cries,"hold friends, it is I Aragorn, I have tracked you for many days, without sleep, to join the expedition, anyone have ne strong dwarven ale?"

Dresdan 12-04-2001 05:01 PM

Dropping the firewood he had gathered on the ground, he walks over to his horse gets into a saddlebag and produces a wine flask. He walks over to the newcomer~I don't have any dwarven ale, but I do have some elven wine if you'd like a bit a that.

Morgan_Corbesant 12-04-2001 08:36 PM

dropping from his horse, Morgan walks over to Dresdan, " Sir Dresdan, mayhap i have a sip of the delicious elven wine?" pulling back the hood of his black cloak, to reveal a smile. "how much further until we are in Churchland?" Morgan asked. "the horses need rest, food, and water. and from the looks of it, there will be a horrible storm before too long."

Morgan_Corbesant 12-04-2001 08:38 PM

OOC!!!! hey Barb, just to let you know, i thing it shoud read "Join the goth, not Goin, lol. not to be nit-picky, just letting you know.
