Does the immunity to charm include domination?

Jafin 11-12-2001 12:33 AM

In one word.... Yes.

Inquisitors aren't that bad than.

Debaser 11-12-2001 12:38 AM

Yeah, they're not that bad. but Cavaliers are the paramount asskickers when it comes to paladins. hands down.

Dundee Slaytern 11-12-2001 01:15 AM

Last I recall, Inquisitors are immuned to Hold, Cavaliers are immuned to Charm. Unless Inquisitors are immuned to Hold and Charm? Because Cavaliers are definitely immuned to Charm.

According to the manual-
Cavalier- Special- 20% Resistance to Fire/ Acid
INquisitor- Special- Immune to hold and charm. True Sight, Dispel Magic.
so a cavalier is not immune to hold or charm, whereas an inquisitor is Immune to both

Dundee Slaytern 11-12-2001 05:07 AM

Well the manual is wrong, Cavaliers are immuned to Charm spells as well, and so are Inquisitors it would seem. I am currently finishing ToB with a Cavalier and I assure you, they have Charm immunity, it is even listed in the Kit Description.

Man that sure would have been useful in BG1..
I had to cheat to give myself the Helmet of Charm Protection just to get past the Siren area..

Paladins are cool, but rather stiff when it comes to role-playing.

Barloc 11-12-2001 01:22 PM

do you have ToB installed, it might have tweaked it. Caviliers are immune to fear, poison, and morale failure. Inquisitors are immune to hold and charm, and undead are immune to hold and level drain.

Dundee Slaytern 11-12-2001 02:29 PM

Cavaliers already have the Charm immunity prior to ToB. I played a female Cavalier before, in SoA without ToB.

Barloc 11-12-2001 02:49 PM

than now its either Cavilier, Undead hunter or Berserker.

Barloc 11-12-2001 08:20 PM

I dont want to sound annoying, but when i tried to create a cavilier, it didnt list it :( , yo u have a patch?

Lothar 11-12-2001 10:57 PM

I couldnt get that either! Patch?

Dundee Slaytern 11-13-2001 04:59 AM

That be odd, I assume you have the SoA patch already?

LennonCook 11-14-2001 03:28 AM

sorry- read manual wrong. Cavaliers are immune to fear and have 20% resistance to wot i said above. Also- the manual cannot be trusted, i know that now that im playing a monk- it has the wrong stats in alot of places, and doesnt mention some of the attacks that ive noticed they have. also it gives edwins allignment as chaotic evil, but in the game, hes lawful evil. So dont go for wot i quoted frim the manual- look in the game on the character creation page, it gives u the stats and abilities used in the game.
